Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.

Rose Dawson Calvert looked at her four-year-old daughter, Suzy, and sighed when the little girl started to cry. She had red hair like Rose, and her blue eyes were Jack Dawson’s, the man Rose had loved on the ship Titanic. Now, five years after the Titanic had sunk with Jack, the girl was daughter to a rich and famous man, Christopher Calvert. But Christopher had died in an accident one year ago, and Rose was alone with Suzy. Suzy’s father was Jack.

Rose and Christopher had had a son, but he had died of cancer.

"Don't cry, darling," Rose said, and held Suzy in her arms. Suzy was sick, and had been that way for a week. It didn’t seem like she was getting better.

"Will I die?" Suzy whispered.

Rose shook her head. "No, Suzy. You won't die. I will take you to a doctor, but I must have money."

Rose was poor. She lived in a small house with Suzy. At night, she was a nude model to a man who’s name was Chris. She got money for that and could buy clothes and food. It was not a fun job, but Rose didn't care.

Rose didn't want to live this life. She wanted to be with Jack, not here, without Jack or his love.

She sang a little bit of a song.

One day I’ll fly away
Leave all this to yesterday.

The doorbell rang. Rose opened it and saw Holly, her best friend.

"Hello, Holly!" Rose said happily.

"Hello, Rose! I was just wondering if you wanted to come to a party tonight?"

Rose shook her head. "I'm afraid I can't. Who will watch Suzy?"

"I have an idea," Holly said, and smiled. "Chris can watch her!"

"Maybe...I will talk to him."

*****

"So, I thought that you could watch Suzy." Rose was in Chris’ home and talking to him about Suzy.

He looked at her and smiled. "Of course! I love children."

"Good. Come to the house at seven o'clock."

Rose went home to tell Suzy about Chris.

"He will watch you until I come home. All right?"

"But I don't like Chris," Suzy protested.

"Suzy, he loves children," Rose said, and sighed. "Be a good girl and be nice to him!"

"All right," Suzy said, and looked at Rose with big eyes.

Rose took a white dress, which was like the dinner dress she had had in her trunk on the Titanic before it had sunk. When she looked in the mirror, she saw that she looked like Rose DeWitt Bukater on Titanic. Her red lips smiled at the mirror.

The doorbell rang, and when Rose opened it, she saw Chris. "Hello, Chris. Come in!"

"You look great," Chris said, and looked at her with green eyes.

"Thank you," Rose said. She knew that Chris loved her, but he was just a friend. "I must go. Suzy, say good-bye to me!" Suzy came in and give Rose a big hug. "Good-bye, Suzy. I will come home at ten or eleven."

*****

"Rose! I'm glad you could come," Holly said when they were at the party.

Rose smiled. "Me, too."

She drank a glass of wine and looked around. She knew some people there.

Suddenly, someone knocked into her back so that she fell down on the floor. When she got up again, she saw a young, blond-haired man.

"What are you doing?" she asked in a sharp voice.

"Oh, I'm sorry, miss."

"Mrs. Calvert," Rose corrected him.

The man looked at her and smiled. Rose gasped for air and grabbed the table. "Jack…Jack Dawson?"

He looked like Jack, the same blond hair...the same blue eyes...the same smile.

"Yes, my name's Jack Dawson. How could you know that, ma’am?"

"Jack," Rose whispered. "It's me! Rose from the Titanic!"

Jack gasped. "Rose? Is it really you?"

"I thought you died," Rose said, crying. "I thought you died on the Titanic!"

"I was so cold in that water, it was like I slept. You dropped me in the water, and I woke up. Someone pulled me into a boat and kept me warm until we got to the Carpathia. I looked for you on the list of people who survived, but you weren’t there! So, I thought you’d died."

"I didn't say my last name. I said Rose Dawson."

"Oh, I see…and now are you married?" Jack looked at her.

"No," Rose answered. "My husband died one year ago. But…I have a daughter. Our daughter."

"What?" Jack stared at her, gasping for air.

"You remember when we made love in the car on the Titanic? I became with child, and our daughter’s name is Susanna, or just called Suzy."

"I love you, Rose," Jack whispered, too happy for words.

"Jack, I have loved you since our first kiss. Before that, too!"

"Do you want to live with me?"

"Of course! More than anything in the world."

Jack and Rose kissed, and Rose remembered their first kiss on the Titanic.

"Here is my house," Rose said. She and Jack stood outside the door, and when Rose opened it, Suzy came running to them.

"Mom! I'm not sick anymore! Just a little bit…"

"Oh, darling, that's good. Um…may I introduce you to Jack Dawson. Jack, this is Suzy Dawson."

Suzy looked at Jack, and her big eyes became bigger.

"You have blue eyes like me! How can that be?"

"Because…" Rose said, "…because he's your father."

"I like you," Suzy said, and smiled.

"I like you, too, Suzy," Jack said, and laughed. Steps were heard from the bathroom, and out came Chris.

"Rose! How was…" Chris saw Jack and looked at him. "Who's this?" he asked in a sharp voice.

"This is Jack Dawson, a man I met on a ship," Rose said. "We love each other."

"Rose, I thought you loved me! You are a nude model! My model! I pay you! And now, you just come home with some man!"

"I don't love you, Chris! I have never loved you. Get away from here before I call the police!"

Chris went home, and Rose smiled at Jack.

Rose Dawson looked at her grandchildren. It was 1996. She was over one hundred years old and had told her grandchildren about the Titanic and the aftermath.

"It has been so many years since Jack and I met each other. After I met Jack again, we married."

Jack came into the kitchen. He smiled at his grandchildren, and said, "We love each other now, too!"

Rose smiled. Yes, they loved each other. More than anyone else could do.

The End.
