Based on some situations originated by James Cameron.

Surrounded by the freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean, under starlight, floated Jack and Rose, a couple who would do anything to save their beloved. They trusted each other with their lives. They had been waiting for a boat to come back for some time now, and they believed that they would be saved.

"I love you, Jack," Rose said.

"Don't you do that. Don't you say your good-byes. Not yet. Do you understand me?" Jack asked.

"I'm so cold," Rose mumbled.

"Listen, Rose...you're going to get out of here, and you're going to go on, and you are gonna make lots of babies, and you're going to watch them grow. You'll die--an old--an old lady, warm in her bed. Not here. Not this night. Not like this. Do you understand me?" Jack asked.

"I can't feel my body," Rose complained.

"Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you, and I am thankful for that, Rose. I am thankful. You must--must do me this honor. Promise me that you'll survive, that you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter what hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise."

"I promise."

"Never let go."

"I will never let go, Jack. I will never let go," Rose assured him.

The waiting seemed to last forever. Meanwhile, Rose was humming Come Josephine in My Flying Machine, which Jack had sang to her at the bow of the Titanic--the ship of dreams. All the memories had come back to her--how she met Jack, the drawing, the Renault, and other wonderful times she had shared with Jack. Her hands were still frozen to Jack's when she saw a light. She knew that a boat had come back for them.

She shook Jack's hand, saying, "Jack…Jack…Jack...Jack, there's a boat. Jack…Jack..." When there was no respond, she knew that Jack was gone, really gone. Her heart sank. Tears started running down her cheeks.

She called out for the boat.

"Come back! Come back! Come back!" but she realized that all that came out were in whispers. She called louder, but still, no one on the boat heard her, and then she started crying again.

She couldn't think of a reason to live until she remembered the promise she had made not too long ago to Jack. She knew that she couldn't hold onto him anymore. She lowered Jack into the ocean little by little, whispering, "I will never let go. I promise!" Then she kissed her lover one last time and let go of his hands. Watching him sink into the deep blue sea made her recall the time when she was in the lifeboat, knowing that that would be the last time she would see Jack, and how she had jumped out of the lifeboat to be with him.

She knew, deep down in her heart, that Jack would be watching over her and she would be with him again in a better place with a little more time. She rolled into the water, swam over to a dead officer, took the whistle from his mouth, and blew it with all her might. A few minutes later, she was on a boat, looking up at the sky, waiting. She knew she wouldn't let Jack down. She would never let go of her promise.

A promise...that she would never let go. Never.

The End.
