Archers and How to Use Them
Archer are the most vital point in any wood elf army. When I play I always include at least 20 archers in one unit so that I can concentrate my firepower. If I have enough points I try to include 27 archers in all. I know you are thinking that 27 is an odd number but i have a good reason for it. If you have 27 archers it is enough to have 3 units of 9. Why 9, well if you have 9 it takes three dead from shooting to cause a panic test and the unit is so cheap your enemy usually will not attack the unit. But if he does attack the unit he will wast a whole turn with a good unit destroying a very cheap unit of yours.
Dryads Eh'
Dryads so under rated. They are a vary versitile and flexible fore except for three disadvantages. #1- cost is high so limits you to having smaller units without rank bonus. #2- lack of standard is bad less hope of winning combat and lack of magic std. help is also relivent. #3- lack of champion is another thing that could help this unit. If you need a character in this unit put a level 1 wizard or hero in for extra help. But I have found that you don't really need a champ. If used proporally with wardancers they can be deadly. If you receive a charge with the dancers next turn chare with dryads and use extra attack then next turn if the enmy is still around take away their attack one or two compate round and you've one it against normal troops. ( For fighting multiple attacked troop or tougher opponents needed are different tactics write me to get them. It might be a while till you hear from me)
Treemen Don't Got Enough Attacks
Ah, treemen as the toy goes they don't got enough attacks. For 280 points you cant afford to was them. If you are going to include a treeman in your army try to use him as a follow up attack. What I mean is after say your Dryads charge then next turn charge the flank with you treeman. He has enough wounds to count as a flank bonus and he takes away their rank bonus. If you are going to use him on his own go after chariots or large multiple wound troops like kroxigores or trolls. Going after a general with a treeman will soon leave the general on foot when you destroy the chariot body, then go after the general usually a easy wound. If you are going after multiple wound troops make sure you charge and destroy as many as you can. Then next round if facing Kroxies you can attack first and destroy more. Oh ya one last thing don't worrie about your treemen being to target of war machine fire they can soak up a lot and if not they were just a decoy from your main strike force.
