Castle of Vlad Tepes

Welcome to the Castle of Vlad Tepes, I am Izros, the caretaker of this castle. Feel free to walk about and learn about the Dracula family. Ignore the babblings of that Irish quack Bram Stoker and read about the legends that have overshadowed history and the true history of the Prince Dracula.

Vlad was well known for his brutal punishment techniques; he often ordered people to be skinned, boiled, decapitated, blinded, strangled, hanged, burned, roasted, hacked, nailed, buried alive, stabbed, etc. He also liked to cut off noses, ears, sexual organs and limbs. But his favorite method was impalement on stakes, hence the surname "Tepes" which means "The Impaler" in the Romanian language. Even the Turks referred to him as "Kaziglu Bey," meaning "The Impaler Prince."

When you are finished looking over the castle, take a peek of the Shrine to Angels. If you have questions, ask me at v_the_impaler@hotmail.com and don't forget to sign the guest book at the front counter. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more rooms to clean.
