NOA History

The New Order of the Ages was established some time after the 2nd mage war by a Human named Julian D. D'Marcos, in Greelytown.  He was a very educated man that loved to teach.  His main purpose was to spread peace through out the land and educate others in the way of good .   His guild started as a close group of like minded friends.  There were very few allowed membership but they were very active and loyal to him.

During the Third Mage War, the guild house was destroyed, and its books and scrolls of knowledge and teachings of peace burnt or scattered throughout Thardferr.  D'Marcos fled into hiding to escape death and took what he could of the guilds writings with him.  He attached the guilds charter and some valuable records to his loyal trained falcon, Gwehar.  The falcon flew until it couldfly no more.  No one knows what became of Julian D. D'Marcos

A young elf by the name of Milod found the falcon and nursed it back to health.  The letter that was attached to the bird was far to difficult for Milod to read.  All that he could make out where three letters. " N O A". Swearing to someday decipher the arcane writings, he hid them under his bed and looked at them often.

A few years later Milod was walking in the forest of Edilar and ran across an elderly elf by the name of Kelvin Rofer.  He had the tattoo of a falcon with the letters NOA on his arm.  Milod asked him what they meant but the elf would not tell him.  Milod could not let this coincidence go and told him about the letters he found attached to  a falcon trying to persuade the elder that he truly meant to learn of their meaning.  Kelvin did not trust him and bid him leave him alone.  Milod ran home and brought the letters back to Kelvin.  The elder could not believe that these important documents had survived.  Kelvin, now believing Milod to be a true and wise young elf, explained to him that he used to be D'Marcos advisor. After Kelvin and Milod talked for a while Kelvin decided that he would take Milod under his wing and teach him all he could about the guild.

They worked hard and long to try to collect, translate, and re-establish the teachings of this original guild. They were constantly criticized for trying to fulfill a “lost” cause.  Many doubted the guild ever existed and wondered if the two were researching evil things in the old mans house. The old Elf and his young apprentice fled to Windtown where they settled in a large house and continued their work.

5 years passed and Kelvin became very sick.  Milod, who had taken to travel at the bequest of Kelven to investigate stories of lost writings of the order, came as soon as he could only to have the poor old elf die in his arms.  The mans last words were,  “Milod, my son, for you have been more like a son than an apprentice to me, over the years you have been a good student and I have taught you all that I know.  It is time for me to pass on to a better place, and I want you to use my house to rebuild this magnificent order of the new ages.  There are still many gaps in our history.   I don’t think we have found the half of it. That is why I need you.  I need you to make this guild work, to find good and loyal people to join our cause, and educate those who do not know what is right.  I hope that you can carry on my dream and that of the orders of first Master, D’Marcos, and do your best to restore peace to the kingdoms once again.  I think that the time has come to allow others to aid us.  Do what you can to insure that evil does not enter this house, but allow those that want peace.  Now go in peace, son, and take it where ever you go.”

Since that time, Milod has been working to establish a place where members can come and unit to bring peace to this land.  Taking the name from his mentor's last words, the Order of the New Ages is still searching for its lost writings and history.  It also searches for any knowledge that will help the world, so that the people may be educated, and know peace once more. Some time ago Milod vanished in his travels to study the world .

Now a new chapter has been opened in NOA history. Sometime ago Milod vanished while traveling. He has not been heard from since then nor is his location known. With their leader gone the members of the NOA scattered taking along what the guild had given them. The guild hall fell into disrepair and what the NOA began seemed to be coming to a close. Another young elf by the name of Terand Morgreth steped up to renew the failing guild. He has promised to continue what was begun here and to make the NOA anew again.
