"Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if
it be widsom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember
how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the
creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these
things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these
things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father,
in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall
ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ,
he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy
Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of
all things."
Moroni 10:3-5
"O my sons, I would that ye should remember that these sayings are
true, and also that these records are true. And behold, also the plates
of Nephi, which contain the records and the sayings of our fathers
from the time they left Jerusalem until now, and they are true; and
we can konw of their surety because we have them before our eyes. And
now, my sons, I would that ye should remember to search them diligently,
that ye may profit thereby; and I would that ye should keep the
commandments of God, that ye may prosper in the land according to the
promises which the Lord made unto our fathers."
Mosiah 1:6-7
"For he truly spake many great things unto them, which were hard to
understood, save a man should inquire of the Lord; and they being hard
in their hearts, therefore they did not look unto the Lord as they
ought. Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said? -- If
ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that
ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely
these things shall be made known unto you."
1 Nephi 15:3,11
"...I, Nephi, was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know
of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift
of God unto all those who diligently seek him, as well as in times of
old as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children
of men. For he that diligenly seekth shall find; and the mysteries of
God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as
well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old
as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one
eternal round."
1 Nephi 10:17,19
"And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the
words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their
surety and truth, becaue of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which
has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have
no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually."
Mosiah 5:2
"Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the
Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your
heart. Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is
the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the
Red Sea on dry ground."
Doctrine & Covenants 9:2-3
"But, behold, I say unto you, that ye must study it out in your mind;
then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause
that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that
it is right. But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings,
but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget
the thing which is wrong; therfore, you cannot write that which is
scared save it be given you from me."
Doctrine & Covenants 9:8-9
"And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that
Spirit which leadeth to do good -- yea, to do justly, to walk humbly,
to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit. Verily, verily, I say
unto you, I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten
your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy. And then shall ye
know, or by this shall you know, all things whatsoever you desire of
me, which are pertaining unto things of righeousness, in faith
believing in me that you shall receive."
Doctrine & Covenants 11:12-14
"But ye are commanded in all things to ask of God, who giveth
liberally; and that which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would
that ye should do in all holiness of heart, walking uprightly before
me, considering the end of your salvation, doing alll things with
prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits,
or doctrines of devils, or the commandments of men; for some are of
men, and others of devils."
Doctrine & Covenants 46:7
"Did I not speak peace to your mind concerning the matter? What
greater witness can you have than from God?"
Doctrine & Covenants 6:23
