IE 5.0/OE & Media Player 6.4 can also be downloaded from Windows 98 Updates. Make sure you download all the Critical Updates as well. To record  ASF, you will need the  Media Tools from Windows Media above and the WABI ASF Tutorial. So easy you can record from your CD in minutes :-))

This is a very new development that requires IE 5.0 & Outlook Express
.

First create folder on your desktop ~ Name it emlake
.

Click on lake.class and save to your emlake folder
Right Click on Tiger2.jpg, Tiger.htm, Tigeremb.htm
"Save Target As" to your emlake folder

lake.class

Tiger2.jpg

Tiger.htm

Tigeremb.htm

   .
Now if you have carefully saved files with proper extension, double clicking on Tiger.htm will give you embedded lake applet. Press F11 when it opens to see it in full page splendor. Is ready to use, if you want to send the Tiger.htm

To use ~ Open Outlook Express ~ Click Message / New Message Using. Browse to C:\Windows \ desktop \ emlake \ tigeremb.htm Click OK ~ Message will appear ~ Fill in To: line ~ add Subject ~ Type on top line of message "When open, click F11" May be viewed off-line.

Tiger.htm & Tigeremb.htm can be used as Templates and I will explain how later.

.

This might appear difficult, however, if you pay careful attention it will soon be familiar and as easy as pulling on your shoes.

We want to keep all components in the same folder including future ones. This is so that you can link all the files easier. Tiger.htm is where we prepare the lake applet and Tigeremb.htm is where we embed all the files used. Important: Use only lake.class (All lower case), as using more than one version can cause conflicts.

Right Click files below & Save Target As to your emlake folder. Boats.jpg is for your assisted home work. W=726 px   H=368 px

(Use lake formula for html measurements.) Lake formula: W=Actual Width. H=Actual Height x 2 minus 18 pixels. If reflection shows a line of gray at bottom reduce the height a pixel at a time until it goes away.

Lake Template

boats.jpg

Embedding Template

Open Lake Template to make changes for new Boatslake.htm

<html>
<body bgcolor="#000000">
<div align="center">
<table border="0" width="100%" height="520" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td width="100%" height="520">
<p align="center"><applet code="lake" width="726" height="700">
<param name="image" value="boats.jpg"></applet>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Changes will be in green

Save As Boatslake.htm in emlake folder

Now that was easy. As Embedding Template is so large, I will show you the 3 places where you make changes, or leave the same.

You will change tiger2.jpg to boats.jpg
You will leave lake.class unchanged
You will change Tiger.htm to
Boatslake.htm

Save As BoatsSend.htm in your embed folder. This is the file you will use when posting or sending email

Just be careful in following instructions & you will be sending embedded lake applets before you know it.

Keep smiling
