About the FFA
 

 

 

The national FFA emblem, consisting of five symbols, is representative of the history, goals and future of the organization. As a whole, the emblem covers the broad spectrum of FFA and agriculture. Each element within the emblem has unique significance.

As the blue field of our nation's flag and the golden fields of ripened corn and unify our country, the FFA colors of national blue and corn old give the unity to the organization. All FFA functions and paraphernalia should proudly display the colors.

The FFA motto gives members twelve short words to live by as they experience the opportunities in the organization. "Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve."

For a chapter to operate effectively, each member must take an active part. FFA is truly an organization of, by and for its members. Members decide and direct the activities of their own chapter. They hold positions of leadership and conduct all activities. The success or failure of chapter activities and programs rests with the membership. Each member is charges with the responsibility of upholding the ideals and principles of the organization, as well as, participating in all chapter activities.

The uniform worn by FFA members at local, state and national functions is call official dress. It provides identity and gives a distinctive and recognizable image to the organization.
