UNIVERSITY
OF WYOMING
The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) was formally established in 1967 with hunt seat equitation competition for college students, and in 1979 added stock seat equitation competition. The IHSA promotes competition for riders of all skill levels, who compete individually and as college teams in shows at Regional and National levels. The University of Wyoming (UW) established an Intercollegiate Horse Show Team in 1992. Any full-time undergraduate student attending UW with at least a 2.0 grade point average is eligible to compete representing the University of Wyoming. |
The UW Intercollegiate Horse Show Association is a recognized student organization
with the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW). In addition
to horse shows, the club has activities such as horsemanship clinics for
4-H youth and field trips throughout the school year. The UW Intercollegiate
Horse Show Team is coached by Dr. Karen Hansen, Associate Professor, Department
of Animal Science.
