TROY DECAIRE TAKES JACKIE GORDON MEMORIAL AT CITRUS
by Ken Sands
By luck of the inversion draw, it was Bushnells Shane Butler in the Terry Decaire #01 leading the 15 car starting field to the initial green for the 30 lap Jackie Gordon Memorial race on Saturday night at the Citrus County Speedway, Butler held the top spot until Troy Decaire who started in 4th dove under the leader in turn 4 and took the top spot on lap 19, Butler tried everything he had to get back by Decaire but the young hot shoe prevailed and brought the George Rudolph #68 home for the win, Butler held on for second over current point leader Scotty Adema with Jimmy Thompson and Gary Gimmler rounding out the top 5. Gimmler who started 10th won the $50 Hard Charger award in the event. Bonus money was awarded to the 6th place finisher donated by Bev and Robert Aaron and to the 7th place finisher donated by The Cross in the Winners Circle Ministry and Chaplain Bill Ross all in memory of Jackie Gordon. The Central Florida Wingless Sprints return to action in 2 weeks on Sept 16 at the Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City.
