Welcome to my ham radio page, at the top of this page is a picture of my ham radio, its a Yaesu FT 840, it transmitts in all the ham radio bands on HF. Currently I live in the Milwaukee area, as time goes by I'll put some 2 meter repeater frequencies on here of Milwaukee.

I have now been a ham radio operator now for 7 years, started in the hobby when I was 14 and now am 22 years old, this hobby gave me alot of self cønfidence knowing that I could get a ham radio licence, I currently hold a General class(call sign N0VVT) ham radio license with 13 wpm cw or morse code.

Some of you may be wondering exactly what ham radio is? Amateur radio operators are people who talk on a friendly basis over the radio and transmit on shortwave frequencies. Amateur Radio operators also known as ham operators, the term ham is unknown right now. Ham Radio is noncommercial 2-way messages in which messages are sent either by morse code(CW) or voice. In 1923 hams were starting to experiment with shortwave frequencies and started to talk over the oceans. Ham Operators also provide support during disasters, in 1985 after the great Mexico earthquake ham operators helped get info on survivors to relatives in the US. There are 6 classes of Licenses, the Novice, No-Code Technician, General, Advanced, and Extra, and power limits are mainly limited to 1500 watts. If you are interested in becoming a ham contact the Arrl: http://www.arrl.org or get their copy of QST.
