shadow

the sun goes down
I come to life
home in the darkness
fearful of light
more silent than a kitten
more shattering than a midnight scream
I am in your reality
and an invader of your dreams
I am with you everywhere you go
whatever you do
it is I who knows
I can't be chained
I won't be tamed
now matter what you do
I'll never be restrained
run
hide
just go
you'll never be rid of me
who am I
turn around
see
I'm your own shadow

tranquility

somewhere in the shadows
halfway between everywhere and nowhere
is this place
our intimate sanctuary
we travel the unknown
to get to this
our loving home
a romantic hideaway
where we forget about the day
behind we leave our cares
and lose ourselves in each other
the pleasures shared
somewhere
in the shadows

to save an angel

in a world of pain
I'll be sane
reach through your heart to touch your soul
delve into your mind and become a shadow
you've lived like this far too long
given up, stopped being strong
I'll move with them and blend
becoming one is the impression I send
till I find the deepest place
for that's where I'll see your face
hidden and scared
waiting to be found and spared
I offer you my hand
to help you up
beside me to stand
come out
follow my lead
this rescue
the one you need

Untitled

I'm falling through empty darkness.
a black abyss.
I hear the air around me,
like a loud hiss.
pain shoots through me,
like lightning as I glance off a side.
spinning now, I reach out.
my fingers brush against and clamp onto an overhang.
I stop.
knuckles crackling. my muscles strain,
denying gravity in a wildfire of pain.
my vision clears
my grip tightens.
with strength from I know not where,
and hope I borrowed from long ago.
I start climbing,
its such a long way to go.
and what's worse;
I'm lost.
the rescue

I look at you and see pain
I look in you and see despair
I see all these things
for its deeply that I care
for you
you walk the walls
high atop the fortress
a prison of your own design
I see you
in your solitude
self-imposed exile
you look down and I see you smile
my hand reaches out
but you step back
so I climb
as you watch
your hurt-filled eyes tear
with each painful inch
the wall, speckled with crimson
from my ascent
I slip
you scream
compelled by the sound
I must go on
reach the top
to set you free
with me

content

the sweetest of things
letting you into my dreams
like a kitten you purr
I don't even stir
nestled up to me
where prying eyes can't see
together as one
having such intimate fun
blissful in our sleep
like a kiss so deep
