The girl sits on the park bench late at night. No
one is around. The moon is barely a sliver in the starless
sky. Leaves on the trees rustly in the breeze. She doesn't see
the shadow, barely distinguishible in the darkness. The only
real indication that anything is there is the eyes, shining
and reddish, focused on their prey. The thing senses her
pulse pounding in her throat, its beat arousing it into a
killing fury. He slides up to the park bench stepping into her
peripheral view. The girl jumps at the sudden presence, but she
isn't really afraid. After all, he is a handsome young man....
"A pretty thing like you shouldn't be out this late at night."
His voice is mellow and soothing to the point of being hyponotic.
He slowly weaves a spell, talking and soothing the girl, gaining her
trust. They walk around the park; he is a patient killer.
Deeper into the woods they go, into the night.
Come morning, the young man is nowhere to be seen. He sleeps deep
beneath the earth, fresh blood tinting his skin and lips.
In a pit far from human eyes, a newly whitened body lies: the newest
addition to a growing pile.....

Vampires have fascinated humans for thousands of years. They embody things
that humans wish that they could have: immortality, eternal beauty, power,
and wealth.
Vampire Literature
This spell of the vampire that holds us in thrall is so strong that it has
held for many thousands of years, lasting through countless cultures and
religions. It pervades our dreams and lurks within our imaginations. All
of us are held close in its ebony embrace. Some of us are held more deeply
in its grasp than others, however. These folk may be so extreme as to try
to be actual nosferatu but others are simply involved in online groups
that cater to the vampirically inclined. Others take their talents and
create physical manefestations of their depth in darkness. They may write
