Alone

This is not the first time I have been alone
& it is not the last
But it is hard to sit here
& think of good times past.

Living for the present
Yet living in the past
The pain that is foremost
is the pain most recent

To be alone
May bring great pain
Yet it brings great learning
& a yearning
To be with someone
Again.

Wishing You where here
With me
To hug & to hold.

Is it You that I want?
Or "Someone"?
