"Two roads diverged in a wood and I,
Took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference."
-Robert Frost, "The Road Not Taken"
The room is "centred" in a clearing by the shoreline of a vast lake, untouched by humanity's industrial hand. This clearing features the remains of what must have been a holy site to an ancient people, where inscribed monolithic slabs and arches lie strewn about as they have fallen and sunken into the ground, each adorned with some glyphs of one language or another. Farthest from the shore is the "Great Oak of Glyphs," a towering spire of a tree that has in its bark the scratches of generations of messages, symbols and lovers' initials. There is a firepit nearby, where stories are told by night, and people idly gather.
But across the lake is the place of power, the fiercely guarded Heart of the Caern, where the island sits surrounded by sapphire waters. Here lie the mysteries of the current sept's predecessors, and the place where the Rites are enacted in earnest.
