Welcome to Digital Diversity 2007 Our research indicates this will be the first exclusively digital show of any magnitude on the Central Coast, open to all digital artists and photographers. Interest in digital art and photography is growing rapidly. Essentially 21st Century mediums, they attract new adherents at an astounding rate. Yet the opportunities for creators of digital work to display their work have lagged far behind. Look at the record:
Being in the vanguard of contemporary art, the San Buenaventura Artists’ Union hopes to help rectify discrimination against all forms of digital art. To this end, the Artists’ Union Gallery (AUG) will offer the first major all-digital exhibit on the Central California Coast in October 2007. We will welcome work from digital artists & photographers who are pushing the envelope of 21st Century art forms – and plan to use today’s technology to assist in displaying their art. We also invite entries from 3D artists & sculptors who produce work with a digital or computer graphics theme. For details, see Exhibit Details, Prospectus & Entry Form Curator: Ken Fermoyle The San Buenaventura Artists' Union is a nonprofit association of professional artists created in Ventura County, California in 1993. Its members have been instrumental in cultivating and raising the standards of the arts in the community – to the point where Ventura is known in the region as “the New Art City.” Our motto is “Creativity through Cooperation.” We are committed through individual and group endeavors to improving our cultural and aesthetic life and that of the community as a whole.
