As Craig cruised down I-10 in his eighteen wheeler he reached under the seat for a Garth Brooks tape. Instead he found half a Big Mac he had put there last week.
"Dammit" Craig mumbled, now remembering when he had put the Big Mac there and thinking at the time he would save it for later. He realized that was three days ago, but he decided to eat it anyway.
Craig took a bite of the Big Mac and was quite disappointed, it just didn't taste like the same hamburger he had just three days ago. Angry and disgusted Craig hung his arm out the window and flung the now cold and stale burger as high into the air as he could.
The hamburger flew mightily into the sky and begin to seperate. The two all beef patties, solidly joined together with secret sauce, became like a frisbee in the tailwind of the eighteen wheeler and landed smartly on the left side of the windshield of a blue Toyota Celica that was following much too close to the back of the big rig. This so startled the driver of the Celica that he slammed on his brakes instantly causing his car to drift into the other lane and spilling his coffee in his lap. In trying to correct the drift of the car and catch the coffee at the same time he overcorrected to the right. This got the front right tire of the Toyota onto the sandy shoulder of the interstate. As he attempted to steer back to the left the car began to slide completely out of control and he came to rest upon a cactus and a Big Mac wrapper just off the shoulder of the road.
By this time Craig was again fumbling about the base of his seat looking for the tape. This time he found a Scripto disposable lighter. This pleased him and he smiled, wondering which of his friends he had stolen it from. He put it in his shirt pocket. Again he reached down to the dirty floor around the seat and this time he found a book. It was his log book. Craig remembered seeing this before, and thought that someday he really should write something in it. He tossed it carelessly back onto the floor.
About then is when Craig first heard the noise.
