Camarillo was once a small town, and life here was quite peaceful. It was a good place to grow up, a place where a kid could be a kid. Now Camarillo has grown into a full fledged city. There was a time you could park a tractor in your yard and nobody cared. Now you can't park a motorhome on the street. I guess this is progress.
Yet I must say that our civic leaders have done a pretty good job of maintaining Camarillo's home town atmosphere in the face of inevitable growth due to our proximity to the greater L. A. basin.
Still Camarillo, and in fact the entire Pleasant Valley, remain a lovely place, and life here is good. The climate is wonderful and I have many life-long friends here.
The Pleasant Valley is nestled along the coast of Ventura County in Southern California. I'm not sure it has any official boundries but I'm gonna say it's bordered to the North by the Las Posas Hills, to the East by the Conejo Mountains, to the West by the Santa Clara River and to the South by the sea. I've lived here as long as I can remember, and count that as one of the blessings in my life.
