There are 57,486 Saudi Aramco employees and the work force represents more than 50 nationalities, although by far the largest number - 44,938 - are Saudis.  Saudis hold 71 percent of the company's supervisory positions and 52 percent of its professional jobs.

The development of Saudis in the work force remains a top priority.  In 1936, for example 115 of the company's 141 employees were Saudis.

Through the years the company has continued to carry out various highly developed training programs.  In 1994, for example, Saudi Aramco provided training to approximately 9,000 Saudis in a program that is one of the largest in the international oil industry.
