Please send the following information on each foal: Name, Age (year foaled), Gender, Color/Markings, Make/Mold, Model/BSO and requested sire and dam. Any exceptions are noted on the individual write-ups. Only aging foals will be accepted.
Windy Plains stallions are open to outside mares unless otherwise noted. To have an outside mare approved, please send a three-generation pedigree, name, year of birth, color, and other foals.
“Out-crossing” is acceptable as long as it is reasonable. Reasonable being Arab/Morgan or Paint/Arab. I would not allow a cross between an Arab and a Clydesdale.
Naming conditions: Please DO NOT use Breyer or any other brand or box names in your horses. Be original. You may use part of the sire/dam’s name for the foal. If you would like to put WP in front of the foal’s name, that’s fine, but I don’t require it. All names must be compatible with the foals breed registry. (Link available for referencing names through IPABRA.) Thoroughbred names must be no longer than 18 characters (letters and spaces). Complete rules are available.
Please follow color genetic rules. A good rule is to have one parent the same color/pattern as the foal. If you have a question regarding "rare" colors and patters (palomino, buckskin, overo, etc) please e-mail.
PLEASE don’t use Windy Plains horses without permission.
A list of foals from mares or stallions is always available upon request via e-mail or snail mail.
Racing updates are always available on any Windy Plains Horse.
Because of my time committments elsewhere, the only requests I will be honoring and processing are those from NAMTOBA members, or for breeding-stock aged Thoroughbreds. Unfortunately, I have not had time to keep up with and develop the other breeds I used to keep, so I don't have information to do breeding requests. If you are still particularly interested in a specific horse or cross, please e-mail me privately to work something out. I do not accept outside requests for RACE-AGE Thoroughbred horses from those outside of NAMTOBA.
I reserve the right to refuse any request at any time.
