Peace greetings ALL,

I was baptized into a Christian religion at the age of 12 that taught "Jesus IS God!", and the so-called "Holy Trinity" doctrine. I was baptized "in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit" and I was actually dunked three times into the water as the minister said this phrase. When baptized, I was not aware of the doctrine "Jesus IS God!" that they taught and many other doctrines that they taught. I was merely a young child and thought that being baptized was the proper thing to do. Also, I did not want to end up in "Hell" and had thought that in getting baptized this would some way save me from going to such a horrid place where one burns forever and ever as a spirit being for all eternity. I also had imagined that my life would change in some miraculous way somehow at my baptism. I was surprised that it did not! At this time my mother was on her third marriage and I had gone through some very troubling times in my young life. I began reading the Revised Standard Version of the so-called "Holy Bible" that they had given me after my baptism, hoping maybe this would change my life somehow. I was instructed by the minister who had baptized me to start my reading in the book of the gospel of John. I remember wondering why he had instructed me to first start reading here and questioned myself on why I should not start reading from the very beginning like any other book or series of books.

Later I had discovered that our minister believed the "Jesus IS God!" doctrine, since he had done a sermon on it and frequently mentioned it in other teachings that he spoke on. This is when I had started to doubt that this minister knew what it was that he was talking about, since I had already read in the so-called "Holy Bible" that they had given me where "Jesus" prayed to "God" in Heaven when he himself was here on Earth (or "in the world"). I questioned within myself on how it is that he can believe this, because when I read the accounts recorded in the so-called "New Testament" it seemed to me that they were definitely two separate beings as a Father Who is in Heaven and His son that He had sent into the world?

I also remember when going to this church, my mother going to the altar at altar call every Sunday and crying out loud. I had also gone to the front a number of times with her thinking that maybe this would help me somehow or that it was the thing to do. I never remember doing and crying though as my mother did.

We lived directly next door to my mother's third husband's parent's house. The church that we attended was right across the street from our houses. My step father's parents went to a different church a bit of a distance from where we lived. For some reason unknown to me we, later stared going to their church. Maybe my step father's mother had encouraged my mother to attend there. My then grandmother was the extremely religious one as I remember. Her church was a Pentecostal church where they supposedly spoke in tongues. I remember my mother having disagreements with them. One disagreement that I especially remember is when they had this Christmas parade right out front of their church during a service that they were holding at the time. Before the parade started going by the the minister there was trying to encourage those who attended the service not to leave the service and go outside to watch the parade. My mother told us that we were going to go out and watch the parade anyway and a few others who attended the service also went out to watch also. Most of them stayed for the service though. I remember my then grandmother being very unset over this. Well, after this happened we again started going back to attending the church across the street from where we lived.

This church that my then grandmother was a member of also taught the doctrine "Jesus IS God!", but did not teach the so called "Holy Trinity" doctrine. I now believe that the church my then grandmother was a member of might have been "Oneness Pentecostal".

We moved around and lived in different cities, towns and states before and after this because my mother divorced her third husband and got married to two other men after she was married to her third husband. Yes, she was married five times in her lifetime. We had also attended many different churches with diverse beliefs, but all of them taught the "Jesus IS God!" doctrine in one form or another. In doing so, I was under the impression at that time that all Christian religions taught the "Jesus IS God!" doctrine. I was not aware that there were Christian religions that did not teach this doctrine until much later in my life.

My mother's third and forth husbands were alcoholics and my mother also became an alcoholic. My mother's third husband was from Kentucky and frequently ran moon shine. I remember my biological father beating on my mother a few times when he found out that she was cheating on him. I even remember my mother taking my brother and I with her when she went to see other men when my father was at work. She was even secretly seeing and writing to a man that was in prison who later came to be her third husband when he was released. My father was not an alcoholic, but was only a social drinker who only drank but a few drinks now and then. My mother's third husband (the one who was in prison and released later) frequently beat my mother severely on almost a weekly basis in a drunken rage for no reason at all. She never even cheated on him that I remember.

Later when I was on my own and got married I began referred to myself as and atheist. My marriage did not last long, since my my wife started drinking and cheating on me. She filed for a divorce and I later got into trouble and have been in prison

My mother eventually became a full fledged Christian when she married her fifth husband. He always bragged about being a substitute preacher for the pastor of his church, although I could never see how he ever preached the truth, since he knew little about what the Scriptures taught and I had never seen him read or study a Bible. She was married to him until she died. Not long before she died though she had found out that he had recently molested a young girl whose parents never pressed charges against him.

[quote]1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.

who do you think the Word and He is?[/quote]

The misunderstanding that many have is in the translation.

In the translation of this verse does it not say within itself "... and the Word was God."? It would only stand to reason that if it says "... the Word was God." then you would have to rely on what it actually says the Word is.

Could it be that the translators personified the word "Word" just as they also personified the word 'sword' in Matthew 26:52 or the K.J.V.? :

"Put up again thy sword into his place: ..." And just as they also gave the words 'wisdom' and 'understanding' a female personification in the Proverbs :

"Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: ..." (Proverb 1:20 - K.J.V.).

"Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: ..." (Proverb 9:1 - K.J.V.).

"Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?" (Proverb 8:1). Note that wisdom is personified as "crying" in this verse.

This female personifcation of the word 'wisdom' is also done in the so-called "New Testament" of the books of Matthew and Luke of the K.J.V. :

"But wisdom is justified of her children." (Matthew 11:19b; Luke 7:35).

Now note the "He" as in the K.J.V. of John 1:2 in John Wycliffe's translation is translated as "This" :

http://wesley.nnu.edu/biblical_studies/wycliffe/Joh.txt

And that the "He" as in the K.J.V. of John 1:2 is translated as "The same" in William Tyndale's translation. Then it proceeds on in the passage to refer to the 'word' as "it". Note also that in William Tyndale's translation that the word 'word' is not capitalized as it is in the K.J.V. giving it a personifiation :

http://faithofgod.net/WTNT/john_1.html

In the original Greek from which this was translated from, the word 'logos' is also not capitalized giving it a personification.

Two be in the field, the one shall be taken and the other left. Who, Lord?

Why do many mistakenly believe those taken are the righteous?

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mat 24:41 Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. ***
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ***
First lets take a look at the parable concerning the wheat and the tares.... Notice what Mathew 13:30 says... 'gather together first the tares....' Mathew 13:38 tells us 'the tares are the children of the wicked one.

Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Mat 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

Mat 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

Mat 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Mat 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

Mat 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked [one];

Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. ***
Lets take a look at Luke 17:34-37. Many people mistakenly believe that those who are taken are the ones who are raptured. Read Luke 17:37. The disciples ask Jesus 'Where, Lord?' What does Christ reply? TAKE NOTICE!

Luk 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two [men] in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Luk 17:35 Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luk 17:36 Two [men] shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body [is], thither will the eagles be gathered together. ***
Notice what Revelation 19:17-18 says.... Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Rev 19:18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great. ***
Now lets take a look at 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 concerning the resurrection. We know the dead in Christ will rise first but take notice what 1 Th 4:17 says concerning those which are alive and 'remain'. REMAIN....

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. ***
FROM THE TARES AND THE WHEAT WE LEARN THAT THE WICKED WILL BE GATHERED FIRST. LUKES ACCOUNT RECORDS WHO ARE THOSE THAT ARE TAKEN, (AGAIN THE WICKED). 1THESSALONIANS 4:16-17 TALKS OF THE RESURRECTION. THOSE THAT REMAIN AND ARE CAUGHT UP ARE THE RIGHTEOUS!

THIS IS NOT MY THEORY OR INTERPRETATION. SCRIPTURE IS CLEAR WHO IS TAKEN.

This is a simple comprehension test. Read the text, answer the Q & you get the answer that the ones taken are the wicked, just like in the days of Noah, the wicked were taken by the flood. This time they are taken to where the carcass is, where the eagles feed. Is this another language or something, is it a case of non comprehendo or is it that people choose not to understand because of their escapist theory. If all one wants to do is escape, where is the trust. Dan 3

There is a VERY quick answer to this: many folks believe those taken are the righteous because they read the Matthew account of the parable, but don't ALSO consider Luke's account of the same parable. At Luke 17:31-36, Jesus tells the parable; then at verse 37, His disciples ask “Where, Lord?” In other words, "where will those who are taken go?" Jesus answers at verse 38 that “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

The reference to eagles (or vultures in some translations) gathered is meant to picture the aftermath of God's judgment on the nations after the Second Coming, when the birds of the air will feast upon the flesh of dead unbelievers (Rev. 19:18). Therefore, Jesus was telling His disciples that those taken away would go to the "valley of decision" (Joel 3:14) and also be consumed by the vultures.

HOWEVER ... it appears you are advancing this argument to suggest that the "catching away" described by Paul occurs at the same time as the general resurrection after the Second Coming. This is impossible, since the Scriptures tell us that those who survive the Tribulation will "inherit" the earth (i.e. be given the earth as the place where they will live); however, Paul states that those who are "alive and remain" will "always be with the LORD," i.e. in Heaven. Therefore, if the event Paul describes happens at the end of the Tribulation, there would be no one left on the earth to inherit it!

The 'church' is lying to you!

What follows is part of a NAMES study I sent to a list I'm on. Part of it is mine, part is from another, but all of it I have personally studied, and it draws the same conclusions that I have known for some time now. I post this because I know there are people who really DO believe in Messiah, they just have not been convicted to call their 'husband' by His real name. So this gives the evidence to the truth. I would not post it here(talk the talk)if I was not putting it in action(walk the walk). Again, this is the Word speaking, the evidence is in front of you, so now you must decide....walk in your leaven, or walk in spirit and truth. Here is the post...

We've been going through the discussion about the names, and the leader of a Messianic synogogue I'm attending right now did a study about some of the names used in the NT. I'll do a cut and paste from that, and if there is a comment, I'll throw it in {brackets}....some additional comments of mine follow as well. This first one is important.....

CHRIST: The word Messiah is translated in the Greek as “Christos” except in one place where it is translated correctly as Messiah.{Actually its in 2 places I found: John 1:41 & John 4:25, the KJV gives it as "Messias'} Greek has a word for Messiah{in the above passages} so we have to ask ourselves why it was translated “Christos” in all other occasions. The word “Christos” was easily confused with the word “Chrestus” (The sun-deity, Orisi) meaning “good” and was used indifferently by the profane and Christian authors of the first two centuries. (the Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible, vol.1) This word “Christos” (from which comes Christ) was also easily confused with Krishna another pagan deity also called Kristas. There are in Egypt Christians who worship serapis (another sun-deity) and call themselves “Bishops of Christ.”

We should respect the name and title of our LORD (it is the name above all names) and it would be better to use: Messiah; Mashiach, Anointed. The Hebrew word, “Mashiach” is “Messias” in Greek and not “Christos.”

JESUS: The name “Jesus” is translated from the Greek “Iesous” an “Iesus” which come from the Greek healing G-ddess “Ieso.” “IHS” is the abbreviated form and is the mystery surname of Bacchus (also known as Tammuz and Ichthus the Fish). All these variants of the same name “sons of Zeus.” (A Study in Ancient Religion Oedipus Aegypticus, et al.)

{Further evidence is found in the 1599 Geneva Bible, including the adding of the letter 'J'. Notice in just this one verse, the name 'Jesus' is ADDED. Other names which SHOULD have a 'J' DO NOT....

Mat 1:16 And Iacob begat Ioseph ye husband of Mary, of whom was borne Jesus, that is called Christ.

If they had used the true Greek then they would HAVE to use Iesus. That would have made it more evident, wouldn't it?}

It would be better to use: The Messiah’s name was Yeshoshua, Yeshua, called the Messiah and He will return as Yahshuhah HaMashiach. “Y’shua” is acceptable. {I found a study one time which brought me to understanding of His name, which was the reverse of Isaiah, which I've given here already. As the Father's name is Yahweh, I feel YAHshua is ok. The author here actually condemned using YEshua during a service last week. I'll tell him about making the correction on his site.}

HOLY: In practically all languages, the word “holy” has been derived from the “divinely honored sun.” (G. Jobes, Dictionary of Mythology, Pg. 781). “Holi” the great Hindu spring festival...held in honor of Krishna, as the spring sun-G-d...a personified woman called Holi...Holi had tried to poison the babe Krishna...” (Forlong’s Encyclopedia of Religions). “Heile (the sun’s-ray)”... this form is almost identical to the German and Dutch equivalent of the English “holy” (Strong’s Concordance, Greek Lexicon # 1506)

We should use: Separated (instead of the “Holy Spirit” use “Ruach Ha Kodesh.”)

SACRED: is from the Sanskrit :Sakra.” Indra, also known as Sakra was on of the twelve forms of the sun-deity. (Larousse, World Mythology.} “Sacred” has been used to translate “kodesh.”

Better to use: Separated, pure

{end copy and paste}

Amazing what you'll find when you start removing the leaven, isn't it?

He also quoted something interesting from Jeremiah which leaped out at me, considering the current time....

Jer 16:19 O LORD {YAHWEH}, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. {Sound like a GATHERING to you?}

Jer 16:20 Shall a man make gods {ELOHIM} unto himself, and they are no gods {ELOHIM}?

Jer 16:21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD{YAHWEH}.

Let me retype the above for you without all the 'clutter'....

Jer. 16:19 YAHWEH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction...

Jer. 16:20 Shall a man make ELOHIM unto himself, and they are no ELOHIM?

Jer 16:21 Therefore, behold I will this once cause them to know....that my name is YAHWEH.

POWERFUL STUFF.

WORDS: "dogs", "swine", "hypocrites", "fools", "bastards", and all of the many other insulting words from Scripture.

The following are translated passages from the so called "Holy Bible".

Hbr 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Isa 65:2 - I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way [that was] not good, after their own thoughts; A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable [things is in] their vessels; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These [are] a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Jdg 2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, [that] they returned, and corrupted [themselves] more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

Eze 36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

Eze 22:31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

Pro 1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Isa 56:11 Yea, [they are] greedy dogs [which] can never have enough, and they [are] shepherds [that] cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Pro 12:15 The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel [is] wise.

Pro 21:2 Every way of a man [is] right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

The word expressions "Jesus is God", "Holy Trinity", "God the Son", "God the Holy Spirit", "Eternal Son", "Pre-existant Son", and "Two Yahwehs" are simply not Father Yahweh's word. You have never seen nor heard these word expressions proceeding out of the mouth of Father Yahweh, the prophets of old, His son, or any of the apostles and disciples of Yahshua. You can not even find these word expressions in your own so called "HOLEY Bible" translations. Your so called "HOLEY Trinity" doctrine is only HOLEY in that it has many HOLES in it. Lots of A HOLES who follow after it also. The Pope is A Dagon Fish Head! http://www.angelfire.com/hi2/YAHWEHFrank/SomethingFishy.html We should communicate (pray) our desire to Father Yahweh that He instruct us in His righteousness. Again I reiterate ... My agrument is that Father Yahweh's set apart ("Holy") spirit is not a seperate person, but Father Yahweh Himself. Father Yahweh's spirit, word, truth, instruction, teaching, wisdom (Torah, Law), and etc. is not a seperate person apart from Himself. To Believe "Jesus Is God" Is To Be Deceived! I must partially agree with achtung_heiss, but to me it is wrong to call our Almighty Heavenly Father and Creator by the impersonal name/title "God", because I believe this was derived from the word 'Gad' (pronounced 'gawd' [god]). I do not believe it should be compared to calling one's offspring "Child", because I believe that the word 'god' is of pagan origin. In Isayah 65:11 in the A.K.J.V the word 'Gad' has been translated 'that troop' and is translated as 'Fortune' in the New International Version. This passage clearly speaks of a rebelious people who forsake Yahweh and turn to worshipping Gad (that troop, Fortune, Fate) and Meni (Destiny, that number [A.K.J.V.]) The NIV Study Bible in their footnote to Isayah 65:11 says:

"A meal and drink offering presented to deities. See note on 5:22; cf. v. 3; Jer 7:18. Fortune ... Destiny. The pagan gods of good fortune and fate. See Jos 11:17, where "Gad" may mean "Fortune."

"But you are those who forsake the Lord, Who forget My holy mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, And who furnish a drink offering for Meni" (Isaiah 65:11, NKJV)

“Yehowah” (A.K.J.V. - 'Jehovah' ) is known among scholars of the Hebrew language to be a "hybrid name, an erroneous transliteration, a blunder, and an impossible transliteration" to quote a few. This attempted transliteration came about by using the vowels from Adonai and Elohim and combining them with the so called tetragrammaton (YHWH). Tetragrammaton is a Greek word meaning four letter word of name. These four letters are erroneously called consonants. They are in fact semi-consonants or consonant/vowels. It is also erroneously said that the true pronunciation of our Heavenly Father and Creator's Name was lost, but the Encyclopedia Judaica says exactly the opposiste. It says the the name was never lost.

The Modern Judaica Encyclopedia, Vol. 7, p.69 "The true pronunciation of the name YHWH was never lost. Several early Greek writers of the Christian Church testify that the name was pronounced 'Yahweh'. This is confirmed, at least for the vowels of the first syllable of the name, by the shorter form Yah, which is sometimes used in poetry (e.g., Ex.15:2) and the -yahu or -yah that serves as the final syllable in very many Hebrew names."

One Hundred Scriptural Arguments for a Unitarian Faith

Unitarian Christians believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God and the Saviour of men. They believe in the divinity of his mission and in the divinity of his doctrines. They believe that the Gospel, which he proclaimed, came from God; that the knowledge it imparts, the morality it enjoins, the spirit it breathes, the acceptance it provides, the promises it makes, the prospects it exhibits, the rewards it proposes, the punishments it threatens, all proceed from the great Jehovah. But they do not believe, that Jesus Christ is the Supreme God. They believe that, though exalted far above all other created intelligences, he is a being distinct from, inferior to, and dependent upon, the Father Almighty. For this belief they urge, among other reasons, the following arguments from the Scriptures.

1. Because Jesus Christ is represented by the sacred writers to be as distinct a being from God the Father as one man is from another. "It is written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. I am one who bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me." John 8:17-18.

2. Because he not only never said that himself was God, but, on the contrary, spoke of the Father, who sent him, as God, and as the only God. "This is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." John 17:3. This language our Saviour used in solemn prayer to "his Father and our Father."

3. Because he is declared, in unnumbered instances, to be the Son of God. "And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17. Can a son be coequal and the same with his father?

4. Because he is styled the Christ, or the anointed of God. "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power." Acts 10:38. Is he who anoints the same with him who is anointed?

5. Because he is represented as a Priest. "Consider the... high Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus." Hebrews 3:1. The office of a priest is to minister to God. Christ, then, as a priest, cannot be God.

6. Because Christ is Mediator between the "One God" and "men." "For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." I Timothy 2:5.

7. Because as the Saviour of men, he was sent by the Father. "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." I John 4:14.

8. Because he is an apostle, appointed by God. "Consider the apostle... Christ Jesus, who was faithful to him that appointed him." Hebrews 3:1-2.

9. Because Christ is represented as our intercessor with God. "It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." Romans 8:34.

10. Because the head of Christ is God. "I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." I Corinthians 11:3.

11. Because in the same sense in which we are said to belong to Christ, Christ is said to belong to God. "And ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's." I Corinthians 3:23.

12. Because Christ says, "My Father is greater than all." John 10:29. Is not the Father, then, greater than the Son?

13. Because he affirms, in another connection, and without the least qualification, "My Father is greater than I." John 14:28.

14. Because he virtually denies that he is God, when he exclaims, "Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God." Matthew 19:17.

15. Because our Saviour, after having said, "I and my Father are one," gives his disciples distinctly to understand that he did not mean, one in substance, equal in power and glory, but one only in affection and design, etc., as clearly appears from the prayer he offers to his Father in their behalf, "that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us. John 17:21.

16. Because the Father is called the God of Christ, as he is the God of Christians. "Jesus saith unto her, ...go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God and your God." John 20:17.

17. Because an apostle says of GOD, in distinction from the "Lord Jesus Christ," that He is the "only Potentate," and that HE "only hath immortality." I Timothy 6:15-16.

18. Because it is the express declaration of the same apostle, that the Father is the one God, and there is none other. "Though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) yet to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things." I Corinthians 8:5-6.

19. Because the power which Christ possessed was, as himself affirmed, given to him. "All power is given unto me..." Matthew 18:18.

20. Because he positively denies himself to be the author of his miraculous works, but refers them to the Father, or the holy spirit of God. "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." John 14:10. "If I cast out devils by the spirit of God..." Matthew 12:28.

21. Because he distinctly states, that these works bear witness, not to his own power, but that the Father had sent him. John 5:36.

22. Because he expressly affirms, that the works were done, not in his own, but in his Father's name. John 10:25.

23. Because he asserts, that "him hath God the Father sealed;" i.e., to God the Father he was indebted for his credentials. John 6:27.

24. Because he declares, that he is not the author of his own doctrine. "My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me." John 7:16-17.

25. Because he represents himself as having been instructed by the Father. "As my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." John 8:28.

26. Because he refers invariably to the Father as the origin of the authority by which he spoke and acted. "The Father hath given to the Son authority..." John 5:26-27.

27. Because he acknowledges his dependence on his heavenly Father for example and direction in all his doings. "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do." John 5:19. "The Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things, that himself doeth." John 5:20.

28. Because he says, "I seek not mine own glory; but I honor my Father." John 8:49-50.

29. Because he declares, "if I honor myself, my honor is nothing; it is my Father that honoureth me." John 8:51.

30. Because an apostle declares, that in Christ dwelt all fulness, because it so pleased the Father." Colossians 1:19.

31. Because Christ is uniformly represented in the scriptures, not as the primary, but the intermediate, cause of all things relating to our salvation. "One God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." I Corinthians 8:6.

32. Because he declares, "I am not come of myself..." into the world, "for I proceeded forth and came from God." John 8:42; 7:28.

33. Because he affirms, that he had not the disposal of the highest places in his own kingdom. "To sit on my right hand and on my left is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father." Matthew 20:23.

34. Because our Saviour, referring his disciples to a future time, when they would understand more accurately concerning him, expressly declares that then they would know him to be entirely dependent upon the Father. "When ye have lifted up the Son of man, [i.e., crucified him,] then shall ye know that I am he, [i.e., the Messiah,] and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." John 8:28.

35. Because our Saviour always professed to have no will of his own; but to be ever entirely guided and governed by the will of his heavenly Father. "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." John 6:38.

36. Because he expressly denies that he is possessed of the divine attribute of independent existence. "As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father..." John 6:57.

37. Because he expressly disclaims the possession of the divine attribute of underived existence. "As the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself." John 5:26.

38. Because he positively denies that he is possessed of the divine attribute of omnipotence. "I can of mine own self do nothing." John 5:30.

39. Because he expressly disclaims the possession of the divine attribute of omniscience. "But of that day, and that hour, knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but my Father only." Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32.

40. Because Christ is said in the Scriptures to have been "tempted of the devil." Matthew 4:1. But "God cannot be tempted with evil..." James 1:13.

41. Because it is related of our Saviour, that "he continued all night in prayer to God." Luke 6:12. Why would Christ thus pray, if he himself were God?

42. Because, in the presence of a numerous company before the resurrection of Lazarus, he gave thanks to the Father for hearing him. "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me, and I knew that thou hearest me always. John 11:41-42.

43. Because Jesus besought his Father to glorify him. "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." John 17:5. The being who prayed to God to glorify him cannot be God.

44. Because he implored that, if it were possible, the bitter cup might pass from him, adding, "nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matthew 26:39.

45. Because he said, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46. Can he who uttered this be the supreme God?

46. Because he never paid his adorations to himself, the Son, nor to the Holy Ghost, as he should have done, had the Son and the Holy Ghost been God; but always to the Father.

47. Because he never instructed his disciples to worship himself or the Holy Ghost, but the Father, and the Father only. "When ye pray, say, our Father, which art in heaven..." Luke 11:2; "In that day, ye shall ask me nothing. Whatsoever ye ask of the Father in my name..." John 16:23; "The hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him." John 4:23.

48. Because it was not the practice of the apostles to pay religious homage to Christ, but to God the Father through Christ. "I thank God through Jesus Christ..." Romans 7:25. "I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 3:14.

49. Because St. Peter, immediately after being filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, thus addressed the Jews: "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know; him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain; whom God hath raised up..." Acts 2:22-24.

50. Because St. Paul expressly states, that "all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ." II Corinthians 5:18.

51. Because the same apostle gives "thanks to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." I Corinthians 15:57.

52. Because it is said, that it is "to the glory of God the Father" that "every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Philippians 2:11.

53. Because the Scriptures affirm, that "Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest, but HE [glorified him] who said unto him, thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee." Hebrews 5:5.

54. Because it is expressly asserted that God gave to Christ the Revelation which was made to the author of the Apocalypse. Revelation 1:1.

55. Because an apostle speaks of Christ only as the image of God. "Who is the image of the invisible God." Colossians 1:15; II Corinthians 4:4. It would be absurd to call any man his own image.

56. Because Christ is stated to be "the first born of every creature." Colossians 1:15.

57. Because he is said to be "the beginning of the creation of God." Revelation 3:14.

58. Because the Scriptures affirm, in so many words, that "Jesus was made a little lower than the angels." Hebrews 2:9. Can God become lower than his creatures?

59. Because Peter declares that, "Christ received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, this is my beloved Son..." II Peter 1:17.

60. Because it is represented as necessary that the Saviour of mankind should "be made like unto his brethren." Hebrews 2:17.

61. Because, in the Epistle to the Hebrews, Christ is compared with Moses in a manner that would be impious, if he were the Supreme God. "For this man [Christ] was counted worthy of more glory than Moses inasmuch..." Hebrews 3:3.

62. Because he is represented as being the servant, the chosen, the beloved of God, and the recipient of God's Spirit. "Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, in whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my spirit upon him..." Matthew 12:18.

63. Because he himself expressly declares that it was in consequence of his doing what pleased the Father that the Father was with him and did not leave him alone. "He that sent me is with me; the Father hath not left me alone, for I do always those things that please him." John 8:29.

64. Because he is said to have "increased in wisdom, and in favour with God and man." Luke 2:52.

65. Because he spoke of himself as one who had received commandments from the Father. "The Father, who sent me, he gave me a commandment." John 12:49.

66. Because he is represented as obeying the Father, and as having been "obedient unto death." Philippians 2:8. "Even as the Father said unto me, so I speak." John 12:50. "I have kept my Father's commandments." John 15:10.

67. Because Christ "learned obedience by the things which he suffered," and through sufferings was made perfect by God. Hebrews 5:8; 2:10.

68. Because he is spoken of in the Scriptures as the first born among many brethren. Romans 8:29. Has God brethren?

69. Because Christ calls every one who obeys God his brother. "Whosoever shall do the will of my Father in heaven, the same is my brother." Matthew 12:50.

70. Because he offers to the faithful the like distinction and honour that himself has with the Father. "To him that overcometh, will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am sit down with my Father in his throne." Revelation 3:21.

71. Because God, in the latter ages, hath spoken by his Son, and appointed him heir of all things. Hebrews 1:2.

72. Because Christ is styled the first begotten of the dead. Revelation 1:5.

73. Because it is declared that God raised him from the dead. "This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses." Acts 2:32.

74. Because God poured out upon the Apostles the Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ. Titus 3:6.

75. Because the reason assigned for the Holy Spirit not having been received earlier is that Jesus was not then glorified. "The Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified." John 7:39.

76. Because it is affirmed that Christ was exalted by God to be a prince and a Saviour. Acts 5:31.

77. Because God made that same Jesus, who was crucified, both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36.

78. Because God gave him a name which is above every name. Philippians 2:9.

79. Because Christ was ordained of God to be the judge of quick and dead. Acts 10:42.

80. Because God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ. Romans 3:16.

81. Because all judgment is committed to Christ by the Father. John 5:22.

82. Because our Saviour grounds the importance of his judgment solely upon the circumstances, that it is not exclusively his own judgment, but that of the Father who sent him. "If I judge, my judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me." John 8:16.

83. Because it is said, that when he was received up into heaven, he "sat on the right hand of God." Mark 16:19.

84. Because St. Paul affirms, that Christ, even since his ascension, "liveth unto God," and "liveth by the power of God." Romans 6:10; II Corinthians 13:4.

85. Because it is affirmed of Christ, that "when all things shall be subdued under him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." I Corinthians 15:28.

86. Because the Apostle John asserts that "no man hath seen God at any time;" which is not true, if Christ were God.

87. Because in the prophecies of the Old Testament that relate to Christ, he is spoken of as a being distinct from and inferior to God. Deuteronomy 18:15; John 1:45.

88. Because the Jews never expected that any other than a being distinct from and inferior to God was to be their Messiah, and yet there is no evidence that our Saviour ever so much as hinted to them that this expectation was erroneous.

89. Because it does not appear from the Scriptures, that the Jews, except in two instances, ever opposed our Saviour on the ground that he pretended to be God or equal with God; whereas, had it been his custom to assume such identity or equality, in his conversation with a people so strongly attached to the doctrine of the divine unity, he would have found himself involved in a perpetual controversy with them on this point, some traces of which must have appeared in the New Testament.

90. Because in these two instances, when charged, in the one case, with making himself God, and in the other, with making himself equal with God, he positively denies the charges. In reply to the charge of assuming to be equal with God, he says immediately, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do;" and directly after, "I can of mine own self do nothing." John 5:19, 30. In answer to the charge of making himself God, he appeals to the Jews, in substance thus: Your own Scriptures call Moses a god, and your magistrates gods; I am surely not inferior to them, yet I did not call myself God, but only Son of God. John 10:34-36.

91. Because, had his immediate disciples believed him to be the Almighty, would they have been so familiar with him, have argued with him, betrayed him, denied him, fled from him, and left him to be dragged to the cross?

92. Because the Apostles, after they had been filled with the Holy Ghost on the day of pentecost, did not preach that Christ was God; but preached what was altogether inconsistent with such a doctrine. Acts 2:22; 13:23; 17:3, 31; 22:8.

93. Because there is no evidence to prove that the first converts to Christianity ever incurred the imputation of idolatry from the Jews, as they must have done, had they believed and taught that the Son, as well as the Father, is Jehovah; while it is notorious that this imputation has been among the most common of the Jewish reproaches against Christians, since the Trinity became a doctrine of the Church.

94. Because there are, in the New Testament, seventeen passages wherein the Father is styled one or only God, while there is not a single passage in which the Son is so styled.

95. Because there are 320 passages in which the Father is absolutely, and by way of eminence, called God; while there is not one in which the Son is thus called.

96. Because there are 105 passages in which the Father is denominated God, with peculiarly high titles and epithets, whereas the Son is not once so denominated.

97. Because there are 90 passages wherein it is declared that all prayers and praises ought to be offered to HIM, and that every thing ought to be ultimately directed to HIS honor and glory; while of the Son no such declaration is ever made.

98. Because, of 1300 passages in the New Testament wherein the word God is mentioned, not one necessarily implies the existence of more than one person in the Godhead, or that this one is any other than the Father.

99. Because the passages wherein the Son is declared, positively, or by the clearest implication, to be subordinate to the Father, deriving his being from Him, receiving from Him his divine power, and acting in all things wholly according to His will, are in number above 300.

100. Because in a word, the supremacy of the Father, and the inferiority of the Son, is the simple unembarrassed, and current doctrine of the Bible; whereas, that of their equality or identity is clothed in mystery, encumbered with difficulties, and dependent, at the best, upon few passages for support.

What was nailed to the stake was the curse of the law which was the death penalty, not the law itself.

If you get yourself an Interlinear you will be able to see that it says, "For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse."

Notice how the KJV changed the real meaning here?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He sums up the Ten Commandments by saying, "Love YHWH will all your heart, and love your fellow man as yourself." I believe our primary focus should be to keep the Ten Commandments. This is the Law that we are to establish.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What about all of the feasts days?

What about the clean and unclean foods?

What about the wearing of the tzits tzits?

What about the law where you are not to take advantage of widows or orphans?

Or the law that says do not follow the crowd in doing evil?

What about the law that says to not have any relations with animals?

Or the law of not having any relations with any of your family members?

See there are many other laws to consider here than just the 10 commandments.

Mt.22:40- "On these two commandments hang "ALL" the law and the prophets."

My Beliefs

I have been study among the diverse so called "Sacred Name Movement" groups for some 25+ years now and have adopted many of their beliefs, especially the beliefs that we should obey Father Yahweh's Teaching (Torah [from the word hora'ah {instruction}], Law) and proclaim His Name and the name of His son Yahshua. My beliefs differ with many people of the so called "Sacred Name Movement" and "Christian" groups in that I do not espouse to the docrines, "Holy Trinity, deity of Jesus Christ, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and Eternal Son in that he always existed or co-existed with our Heavenly Father and Creator or was a co-creator with Him or that was our Hevenly Father and Creator Himself. I simply believe what Scripture teaches, that Yahshua was and is the son of Yahweh our Heavenly Father and Creator.

Yahsheba's Testimony

I was raised Roman Catholic, but quit going when I was about 10 when my grandma could no longer drive. My mom was not really into it and was agnostic for many years. At the age of 20 after a divorce already. Sighs... I wanted to get closer to the father and started reading the scriptures and started going back to the Catholic church. My mom and her boyfriend which is now my dad started getting interested and came with me. My dad the curious type of guy that he was and still is had questions! Like why do you have these idols all over the place? LOL... Well to try and make a long story short it might get longer. lol... Anywho I left that church and became born again when my parents got married. Spoke in some type of tongue and said who knows what! YIkes! Later I became interested in learning more about the scriptures. Realized that you should keep the sabbath in 85 and started going to the Worldwide church of G--. Was there 6 in a half years. They started making changes that I could not accept so I left and went to 3 splits. All were wrong in their thinking. I found out later for years that I had been keeping the feasts days wrong and following the jewish calendar with postponements in them. Well someone my dad knew from the wcg gave him a book about the calendar and its history. That's how we learned that the father has a Name!!! WOW! What a concept! It never dawned on me that G-- was not a name. Well Praise Yahweh he opened my eyes! Only problem with that though we got caught up in a cult for 11 years. Sighs... Live and learn eh? Hope so it gets old feeling like you have been duped once again! Now I attend an assembly of Yahweh. Well that's it in a nut shell. Shalom! Hope more will share their history here.SOURCE

Word study on 'soul'

A good summary of the ancient Greek and biblical views on this subject is found in The Eerdmans Bible Dictionary (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1987, "Immortality," p. 518).

"The question of human immortality inevitably involves a comparison of biblical and Greek views of the subject. The Greek view, expounded classically in Plato's Phaedo, is based on an anthropological dualism of body and soul. The body is gross, corruptible, subject to illusion. The soul, on the other hand, is immortal, eternal, essentially divine, and in a sense infallible, belonging properly to the realm of the ideal. In this life the soul is imprisoned in the body, which easily tyrannizes over the soul. Hence life ought to be a process of liberation, the weaning of the soul away from alien matter through engagement with the eternal ideas that lie behind material things. Death is the culmination of the process, the final liberation of the soul from the body, and thus is a friend and not an enemy; through death the soul is released from the prison of the body to its true home. This view is noble, full of apparent light, answers to an important dimension of human experience (the sense of alienation), and is attractive. It has influenced both Hellenistic Judaism and the history of Christian thought. Indeed, the salvation of the "immortal soul" has sometimes [almost invariably!] been a commonplace in preaching, but it is fundamentally unbiblical. Biblical anthropology is not dualistic but monistic: human being consists in the integrated wholeness of body and soul, and the Bible never contemplates the disembodied existence of the soul in bliss [but this pagan idea can be heard promoted in almost every obituary notice and funeral sermon in churches]. Death is the enemy of this integrity and not the friend of the soul. Immortality, in Greek thought, is of the nature of the soul, which is essentially unaffected by death except insofar as it is liberated. This involves no conflict, but rather is a peaceful escape from creation. Biblical immortality, on the contrary, is an end, which is achieved through a dramatic conflict with death and involves a new creation in which the integrity of body and soul is restored and perfected. "Since Hebrew thought has no concept of the independent existence of the soul, it is natural that the hope for eternal life should eventually be recognized as a hope for resurrection…The idea becomes fully visible in Daniel, where eternal life [the Life of the Age to Come] is seen to entail a double bodily resurrection of 'some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt' (Dan. 12:2). Daniel's doctrine of eternal life is hardly, as some have maintained, influenced by the Greek view of the immortality of the soul; it is the reawakening of those 'who sleep in the dust of the earth' and therefore, in keeping with Hebrew anthropology.

"Paul speaks of immortality only in connection with the resurrection of the body. The presence of the Spirit within the believer now, in fact, is the guarantee of the ultimate reclothing of the resurrection body (2 Cor. 5:5), which Paul likens to Christ's "glorious body" (Phil. 3:21) - a "spiritual" body (I Cor. 15:44) now animated by the power of the Holy Spirit rather than subject to the power of sin and death. What is sown perishable, dishonored, weak, physical, and mortal is to be raised imperishable, glorious, powerful, spiritual, and immortal (vv. 42-44, 53). Mortality is not so much left behind as 'swallowed up by life' (2 Cor. 5:4)." [This process of immortalization cannot happen before the resurrection at the Second Coming - I Cor. 15:23.]

[quote]There is only one God as the Bible says. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” (Deuteronomy 6:4) The Bible gives attributes of deity to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit of God. There are not three God’s, they are One.[/quote]

I would agree that there is only one Yahweh and that Yahshua is the son of Yahweh.

[quote]The titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost describe the office work of each Person of the Godhead; they describe God's relationships to humanity and are not the supreme, saving name, which is Jesus.[/quote]

The Supreme redemptive Name is Yahweh. The name Yahshua conveys this message since the name Yahshua means 'Yahweh is Redeemer'.

[quote]• The Father has a Name: “I (Jesus) have come in my Father's name.” (John 5:43a)[/quote]

I agree! The power to redeem was given unto Yahshua by Father Yahweh, but Father Yahweh is our Supreme Redeemer. The name Yahshua conveys this message since the name Yahshua means 'Yahweh is Redeemer'.

[/quote]• The Holy Ghost has a Name: “. . . the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name.” (John 14:26a)[/quote]

I would say the set apart spirit ("Holy Ghost") is Yahweh's power and does not have a name.

[quote]• The Son has a Name: “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36)[/quote]

Note this passage says that Yahweh has made His son Yahshua both Master and Messiah. If Yahshua is Yahweh, why would Father Yahweh have to make Himself a Master when He already is the Supreme Master? Note also that the word 'messiah' means 'annoited one'. Did Father Yahweh anoint Himself? No! He anointed His son Yahshua.

[quote]Jesus is the name in which the roles of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are revealed. It is the only name that saves. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other [b]*NAME[/b] under heaven [b]*GIVEN[/b] among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)[/quote]

Actually, 'Jesus' was not the Messiah's *GIVEN NAME. The name Jesus is merely a bad translation of the name Yeshua and this name simply means 'He is redeemer' and is void of the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator specifying Yahweh as our Supreme Redeemer.

[quote]Jesus the Christ represents the body of God; He is God in physical form.

Matthew 1:23: “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”[/quote]

Yes, Yahshua is Yahweh's [URL=http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=representative]representative[/URL], but he is not Father Yahweh, but the son of Father Yahweh.

[quote]1 Tim. 3:16 “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”[/quote]

Yes, Father Yahweh was manifest (made known) in the flesh through His son Yahshua. Father Yahweh was also manifest (made known), justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory through the apostles (cf. Does Isaiah 9:6 Claim That "Jesus is God"?

JPS version, done in 1917. The Holy Scriptures According to the Masoretic Text: A New Translation. Philadelphia: Jewish Publication Society of America reads as follows:

"For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele-joez-el-gibbor (See END NOTE) -Abi-ad-sar-shalom."

The 1985, and the revised e-edition of 1997, render Is. 9:5b as:

"... he has been named "The Mighty God is planning grace (d); The Eternal Father, a peaceable ruler."

(d) = as in 25:1

Many question why the the JPS 1917 transliterate this portion of the passage as opposed to translating it. The reason is quite obvious. Christian translations have traditionally understood this prophecy to refer to "Jesus", and then used this quite complicated name as a series of messianic titles. The JPS wanted to avoid this, and to emphasize that this is a (real or symbolic) personal name. Just like "Jonathan" is not translated "Yahweh-has-given" in the A.K.J.V. of the Bible. The A.K.J.V.does not translate "Immanuel" in 7:14 and etc. as "God-is-with-us".

For not having a better explaination of this passage, I have on a number of occasions explained that the A.K.J.V. reads "... his name shall be called ...", not that his name IS all of these names. This passage is worded in a future tense. Understanding this passage as a future prophecy concerning Yahshua, would this not stand true? Is he not given all of these attributive names at this time? None of these are his GIVEN name (singular) though. There was only one name ("... for there is NONE OTHER NAME under heaven GIVEN among men ..." Acts 4:12) GIVEN to him at birth.

A messenger ("malak, angel") of Yahweh conveyed to Yahseph [Joseph] that he was to call his name Yahshua and he did as the messenger of Yahweh had told him.

"And [Yahseph] knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name YAHSHUA (Matthew 1:25).

The name Yahshua was GIVEN to him by Father Yahweh which was conveyed through His messenger.

"Wherefore Yahweh also has highly exalted him, and GIVEN him a name which is above every name: ..." (Philippians 2:9).

Father Yahweh Is Our Supreme Redeemer

The Name YAHshua means 'YAHweh Is Redeemer'. Yahshua came in the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator (Yahchanan [John] 5:43). Father Yahweh is our Supreme Redeemer THROUGH his son Yahshua. Yahshua said "No man comes unto the Father, but by me." (Yahchanan [John] 14:6). Yahshua is our advocate with Father Yahweh (1 John 2:1). He is our mediator with Father Yahweh (I Timothy 2:5).

END NOTE

The Hebrew for "mighty god" in Isaiah 6:9 is gibbor el, which is nearly the same Hebrew as the name of the angel Gabriel.

The Net Bible has this interesting note on the title gibbor el ("mighty God"):

"probably an attributive adjective ("mighty God"), though one might translate "God is a warrior" or "God is mighty." Since this title is apparently used later (10:21, but cf. Hos. 3:5) for God, some have understood it as pointing to the king's deity. Others argue that the title portrays the king as God's representative on the battlefield, whom God empowers in a supernatural way (see Hayes and Irvine, Isaiah, 181-82). The latter sense seems more likely in the original context of the prophecy. Having read the NT, we might in retrospect interpret this title as indicating the coming king's deity, but it is unlikely that Isaiah or his audience would have understood the title in such a bold way. Ps 45:6 addresses the Davidic king as "God" because he ruled and fought as God's representative on earth. Ancient Near Eastern art and literature picture gods training kings for battle, bestowing special weapons, and intervening in battle. According to Egyptian propaganda, the Hittites described Ramses II as follows: "No man is he who is among us, It is Seth great-of-strength, Baal in person; Not deeds of man are these his doings, They are of one who is unique." (See M. Lichtheim, Ancient Egyptian Literature, 2:67) Isa. 9:6 probably envisions a similar kind of response when friends and foes alike look at the Davidic king in full battle regalia. When the king's enemies oppose him on the battlefield, they are, as it were, fighting against God himself."

Notice that the NetBible scholars are Trinitarians, yet they are realistic and fair minded enough to recognize that gibbor el is not a title of deity. Other scholars agree.

Actually, the passage is not a particularly good one for Trinitarians. It would help the Oneness folks a lot more. The Trinitarian does not regard Jesus as the Father, yet the passage says he shall be called "everlasting father." The Trinitarian has to do all sorts of twisting to insist that "gibbor el" should be taken as telling us that Jesus is God, but then the next phrase they have to explain away to tell us that he is not the Father.

1 John 5:7

The only verses in the whole Bible that explicitly ties God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in one "Triune" being is the verse of 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

This is the type of clear, decisive, and to-the-point verse I have been asking for. However, as I would later find out, this verse is now universally recognized as being a later "insertion" of the Church and all recent versions of the Bible, such as the Revised Standard Version the New Revised Standard Version, the New American Standard Bible, the New English Bible, the Phillips Modern English Bible ...etc. have all unceremoniously expunged this verse from their pages. Why is this? The scripture translator Benjamin Wilson gives the following explanation for this action in his "Emphatic Diaglott." Mr. Wilson says:

"This text concerning the heavenly witness is not contained in any Greek manuscript which was written earlier than the fifteenth century. It is not cited by any of the ecclesiastical writers; not by any of early Latin fathers even when the subjects upon which they treated would naturally have lead them to appeal to it's authority. It is therefore evidently spurious."

Others, such as the late Dr. Herbert W. Armstrong argued that this verse was added to the Latin Vulgate edition of the Bible during the heat of the controversy between Rome, Arius, and God's people. Whatever the reason, this verse is now universally recognized as an insertion and discarded. Since the Bible contains no verses validating a "Trinity" therefore, centuries after the departure of Jesus, God chose to inspire someone to insert this verse in order to clarify the true nature of God as being a "Trinity." Notice how mankind was being inspired as to how to "clarify" the Bible centuries after the departure of Jesus. People continued to put words in the mouths of Jesus, his disciples, and even God himself with no reservations whatsoever.

Were These People "Inspired"?

If these people were being "inspired" by God, I wondered, then why did they need to put these words into other people's mouths (in our example, in the mouth of John). Why did they not just openly say "God inspired me and I will add a chapter to the Bible in my name"? Also, why did God need to wait till after the departure of Jesus to "inspire" his "true" nature? Why not let Jesus say it himself?

The great luminary of Western literature, Mr. Edward Gibbon, explains the reason for the discardal of this verse from the pages of the Bible with the following words:

"Of all the manuscripts now extant, above fourscore in number, some of which are more than 1200 years old, the orthodox copies of the Vatican, of the Complutensian editors, of Robert Stephens are becoming invisible; and the two manuscripts of Dublin and Berlin are unworthy to form an exception...In the eleventh and twelfth centuries, the Bibles were corrected by LanFrank, Archbishop of Canterbury, and by Nicholas, a cardinal and librarian of the Roman church, secundum Ortodoxam fidem. Notwithstanding these corrections, the passage is still wanting in twenty-five Latin manuscripts, the oldest and fairest; two qualities seldom united, except in manuscripts....The three witnesses have been established in our Greek Testaments by the prudence of Erasmus; the honest bigotry of the Complutensian editors; the typographical fraud, or error, of Robert Stephens in the placing of a crotchet and the deliberate falsehood, or strange misapprehension, of Theodore Beza."

"Decline and fall of the Roman Empire," IV, Gibbon, p. 418.

Edward Gibbon was defended in his findings by his contemporary, the brilliant British scholar Richard Porson who also proceeded to publish devastatingly conclusive proof that the verse of 1 John 5:7 was only first inserted by the Church into the Bible in the year 400C.E.(Secrets of Mount Sinai, James Bentley, pp. 30-33).

Regarding Porson's most devastating proof, Mr. Gibbon later said:

"His structures are founded in argument, enriched with learning, and enlivened with wit, and his adversary neither deserves nor finds any quarter at his hands. The evidence of the three heavenly witnesses would now be rejected in any court of justice; but prejudice is blind, authority is deaf, and our vulgar Bibles will ever be polluted by this spurious text."

To which Mr. Bentley responds:

"In fact, they are not. No modern Bible now contains the interpolation."

Mr. Bentley, however, is mistaken. Indeed, just as Mr. Gibbon had predicted, the simple fact that the most learned scholars of Christianity now unanimously recognize this verse to be a later interpolation of the Church has not prevented the preservation of this fabricated text in our modern Bibles. To this day, the Bible in the hands of the majority of Christians, the "King James" Bible, still unhesitantly includes this verse as the "inspired" word of God without so much as a footnote to inform the reader that all scholars of Christianity of note unanimously recognize it as a later fabrication.

Peake's Commentary on the Bible says:

"The famous interpolation after 'three witnesses' is not printed even in RSVn, and rightly. It cites the heavenly testimony of the Father, the logos, and the Holy Spirit, but is never used in the early Trinitarian controversies. No respectable Greek MS contains it. Appearing first in a late 4th-cent. Latin text, it entered the Vulgate and finally the NT of Erasmus."

It was only the horrors of the great inquisitions which held back Sir Isaac Newton from openly revealing these facts to all:

"In all the vehement universal and lasting controversy about the Trinity in Jerome's time and both before and long enough after it, the text of the 'three in heaven' was never once thought of. It is now in everybody's mouth and accounted the main text for the business and would assuredly have been so too with them, had it been in their books… Let them make good sense of it who are able. For my part I can make none. If it be said that we are not to determine what is scripture and what not by our private judgments, I confess it in places not controverted, but in disputed places I love to take up with what I can best understand. It is the temper of the hot and superstitious part of mankind in matters of religion ever to be fond of mysteries, and for that reason to like best what they understand least. Such men may use the Apostle John as they please, but I have that honor for him as to believe that he wrote good sense and therefore take that to be his which is the best."

According to Newton, this verse first appeared for in the third edition of Erasmus's (1466-1536) New Testament.

For all of the above reasons, we find that when thirty two biblical scholars backed by fifty cooperating Christian denominations got together to compile the Revised Standard Version of the Bible based upon the most ancient Biblical manuscripts available to them today, they made some very extensive changes. Among these changes was the unceremonious discardal of the verse of 1 John 5:7 as the fabricated insertion that it is. For more on the compilation of the RSV Bible, please read the preface of any modern copy of that Bible.

Such comparatively unimportant matters as the description of Jesus riding an ass (or was it a "colt", or was it an "ass into Jerusalem are spoken about in great details since they are the fulfillment of a prophesy. For instance, in Mark 11:2-10 we read:

"And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring [him]. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed [them] in the way And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed [be] the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest."

Also see Luke 19:30-38 which has a similar detailed description of this occurrence. On the other hand, the Bible is completely free of any description of the "Trinity" which is supposedly a description of the very nature of the one who rode this ass, who is claimed to be the only son of God, and who allegedly died for the sins of all of mankind. I found myself asking the question: If every aspect of Christian faith is described in such detail such that even the description of this ass is so vividly depicted for us, then why is the same not true for the description of the "Trinity"? Sadly, however, it is a question for which there is no logical answer.

Jewish Secular Names

Please note the hyperlinks within my post. These will make my explainations more understandable and not so long drawn out. Please understand that I do not espouse to all the beliefs of these reciprocal links. There are tidbits of information within these links that you can use to further your education. They are purely for educational and research purpose only.

I myself do not believe that "Jesus" is our Heavenly Father and Creator's (Father Yahweh's) son's GIVEN Name. The name 'Jesus' is a translation of the Greek 'Iesous' which in turn is a translation of the Hebrew name 'Yeshua'. Our Heavenly Father and Creator's son was born a Yahdah or Yahudah ("Jew"). Knowing this, I can only conclude that his GIVEN Name had to be a Hebrew name.

How "Yeshua" Became "Jesus"

This name 'Yeshua' came about because of the Jews superstition and suppression in the use of the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator Yahweh which is withIN His son's name. Most Jews and Messianic Jews do not use the Name Yahweh because of what they have been taught in their traditional Jewish upbringing. They have been taught that they are not to use His Name out of supposed reverence or fear of using His Name in a vain and foolish way. They inSTEAD use the name/title Adonai ("the LORD"). They also use such name/title Elohim ("God"), or Ha Shem ("the Name"). This teaching in not using His Name was developed outside of what is taught in Scripture. Throughout the Scriptures you can plainly see that the inspired prophets of old used and taught that we are to "call upon", "proclaim", and make His Name known. Nowhere in Scripture are we forbidden to use His Name as the Jewish religion teaches. If fact, the exact opposite is taught in Scripture. Because of the suppression of His Name the scribes (copyist) and in turn translators have caused His people to forget His Name for Baal (Baal in English means "the LORD").

If Jehovah Isn't the Real Name of God, What Is?

Baal - lord. (1.) The name appropriated to the principal male god of the Phoenicians. It is found in several places in the plural BAALIM (Judg. 2:11; 10:10; 1 Kings 18:18; Jer. 2:23; Hos. 2:17). Baal is identified with Molech (Jer. 19:5). It was known to the Israelites as Baal-peor (Num. 25:3; Deut. 4:3), was worshipped till the time of Samuel (1 Sam 7:4), and was afterwards the religion of the ten tribes in the time of Ahab (1 Kings 16:31-33; 18:19, 22). It prevailed also for a time in the kingdom of Judah (2 Kings 8:27; comp. 11:18; 16:3; 2 Chr. 28:2), till finally put an end to by the severe discipline of the Captivity (Zeph. 1:4-6). The priests of Baal were in great numbers (1 Kings 18:19), and of various classes (2 Kings 10:19). Their mode of offering sacrifices is described in 1 Kings 18:25-29. The sun-god, under the general title of Baal, or "lord," was the chief object of worship of the Canaanites. Each locality had its special Baal, and the various local Baals were summed up under the name of Baalim, or "lords." Each Baal had a wife, who was a colourless reflection of himself.

Our Heavenly Father and Creator's Name in its short form 'Yah' is even found within many names of the prophets of old. Within their names are short messages. For example ... The name JeremIAH (YeremYAH) means 'May Yahweh lift up', the name ZecharIAH or ZecharIAs (ZecharYAH) means 'Remembrance of Yahweh', the name IsaIAH (IsaYAH) means 'Redemption of Yahweh', and etc. The 'IAH' (YAH or JAH) signifies His Name in these short message names. The short form JAH can be found in all caps in the A.K.J.V. and other versions of the Bible at Psalm 68:4 . This form can also be found in the expression 'Hallelujah!' which means 'Praise be to Yahweh!'. Note that the 'j' is a 'y' sound in this expression.

There is one specific name that I would like you to observe and pay close attention to, and that is the name of the inspired prophet of old 'Joshua'. Diverting from the common suffix use of our Heavenly Father and Creator's Name in its short form used in the names of the other prophets, this prophet has the short form of our Heavenly Father's Name as a prefix in his name. In Hebrew the letter 'J' is a 'Y' or an 'I' sound. This is called a transliteration .

Hopefully you have taken advantage of the hyperlinks and now know the difference between to 'translate' and to 'transliterate'.

The name Joshua is the closest transliteration of this prophets name used in the A.K.J.V of the Bible. A much closer transliteration is 'YAHshua'. Now, this is the same name that was GIVEN to the Messiah, Father Yahweh's son whom He anointed, raised from the dead, and appointed to reign as King for 1000 years. This name YAHshua 'Yahweh is our Redeemer'. YAH = YAHweh and 'shua' in Hebrew means 'redeemer'. The name YAHweh has been suppressed in the name Yeshua (translated Jesus) which means 'he is redeemer'. The meaning of the names Yeshua and Jesus does not specify Who our Supreme Redeemer is. Our Supreme Redeemer is Father Yahweh and His redemption comes THROUGH his son YAHshua. That is why the Messiah said "... no man comes to the Father, but by me." The Messiah Yahshua is our advocate with Father Yahweh.

The Names Jesus Was Not The Messiah's GIVEN Name.

I believe to use the names 'Jesus' and 'Yeshua' takes away from Yahshua's message that Father Yahweh is our Supreme Redeemer. Father Yahweh even redeemed His son Yahshua from death, and we too should have that same redemption - from death hope. I use, proclaim, call upon, and make known our Heavenly Father and Creator by His Name Yahweh THROUGH His son Yahshua out of pure reverence for Father Yahweh's Name.

Yahshua himself instructed the disciples how to communicate ("pray") to Father Yahweh "which art in heaven". He did not instruct them to communicate with he himself who was on the earth at that time. I do not believe that we are to communicate with Father Yahweh's son, but that we are to communcate with Father Yahweh in the name of His son Yahshua.

I also do not believe that the names Jesus and Yeshua was Father Yahweh's son's GIVEN name. These names do not convey the message that Father Yahweh is our Supreme Redeemer. I do not believe that Father Yahweh and His son Yahshua are "one and (or "in" [Whatever that means! ???]) the same being" as many teach. This is not taught from the mouth of Father Yahweh, but only from the mouths of unknowledgable and decieved preachers. Yahshua did say "I and my Father are one.", but he did not say that he and the Father were "one and the same being". Note that he also communicated his desire concerning his dicsiple to Father Yahweh "... that they may be one, even as we are one..." . Here you can clearly see what he meant when he said that he was one with Father Yahweh. Another example is when it says in Scripture that a man and a woman are married that they become one flesh. They are not one and the same person, but are in unity and agreement with each other.

Yahshua was not saying that he was Father Yahweh as many falsely teach. Even a minimal study of Scripture tells one that he is the son of Father Yahweh, and not Father Yahweh. As Scripture teaches, "...STUDY to show yourselves approved ...". If one is not studious in Scripture they can be easily be deceived into believing a lie.

Now, I do not want you to be mislead in what I am saying. Just because one may use the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator Yahweh and the name of His Son Yahshua does not in itself mean that they are in a righteous standing with Father Yahweh. There is much more instruction in Father Yahweh's word other than the use of his Name. This is only a minute part of what Father Yahweh teaches us through His word. If one does not study in all aspects of doctrine they can easily be deceived in many other ways. All Scripture ... profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness ...".

For more instruction in that which in right, please see MY WEB SITE .

Many are deceived into believing that Father Yahweh and His son Yahshua are "... one and the same being." To promote this false teaching, these false teachers quickly refer one to the passage where Yahshua said "I and my Father are one." They add the words "... and the same being." to His son's words to deceive one into believing that Yahshua was saying that he was Father Yahweh. For more information on this deceptive doctrine see my web page at:

Scripture does NOT say "Jesus is mighty God, everlasting Father! IT SAYS his name shall be called by those attributes, not that his name is those attributes! http://freewebs.com/frank4yahweh

From The Quran

The Prophet said tell all the world that Jesus is God. Qur'an 23:18-19

Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 100, Number 180: The Prophet said, Jesus the Lord of all God of all creation, is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 126: The Prophet said, I see Jesus the Lord of all God of all creation

I do not espouse to the doctrines of the "deity of Yahshua (Jesus) Messiah (Christ)", "Yahshua (Jesus) is Yahweh (God)", "two Yahwehs" nor do I believe that Yahshua is "eternal son", that he "pre-existed" with Father Yahweh from the very beginning and was a "co-creator" with Father Yahweh. Nowhere is it taught in Scripture "Yahshua is Yahweh", nor did Yahshua ever say "I am Yahweh". The wordings 'deity of', 'trinity', 'eternal son', 'pre-existant son', 'God the Son', and 'God the Holy Spirit' are not so much as mentioned in Scripture. The belief that "Yahshua is the son of Yahweh, but not Yahweh himself" is evident and conclusive in the studying of Yahweh's word. This teaching is Scripturally based and not a mere opion or "private interpretation" of men. Many quickly point out the passage where Yahshua said "I and my Father are one." to prove a triune God, that Yahshua is Yahweh, that he pre-existed with Father Yahweh from the very beginning or that he was eternal. Note that Yahshua also communicated (prayed) to Father Yahweh his disire that the men that Father Yahweh gave him from the earth also be one with them, "EVEN AS WE ARE ONE." Since Yahshua commuicated his desire to Father Yahweh that the men that He gave him from the eath also be one as they are one, should they also be considered as "deity" and Yahweh themselves? Yahweh forbid! When Yahshua said "I and my Father are one.", he was not saying that he was Father Yahweh, but that he was in unity and in agreement with Father Yahweh. Many deceptively add the words "and the same being" to Yahshua's proclaimation that he was one with Father Yahweh. He did not say "I and my Father are one 'AND THE SAME BEING'. Many also take out of context the words "I am" from what Yahshua said a say that he is saying that he is "The Great I am". Yahshua did not say "I am the Great I am". Whenever he mentioned the two words "I am" it was in reference to himself or that he was the Messsiah, not that he was Father Yahweh. Many point out the passage in John 1:1 and say that the word was Yahshua. John 1:1 does not say that. It says "the word was Yahweh (God)", not Yahshua. Actually in the Greek it says "Yahweh (God) was the word,", not 'the word was Yahweh (God).'. In referring to the Greek you will also find that the word 'logos' is not capitaized. The translators capitalized 'Word' in the A.K.J.V because the majoritiy of them were trinitatians. "Most people" do not "picture GOD the Father doing all the creation in Genesis." I find few people who agree with me that Father Yahweh ALONE created the heavens an the earth. I have found that most people believe that Father Yahweh and His son Yahsua are "one and the same being". I have been banned from many a forum for proclaiming otherwise. One finds it very hard to teach that Yahshua is deity or God to one that does not believe this doctrine because the Scriptures simply do not teach it. The name Yahshua means 'Yahweh is Redeemer'. Father Yahweh is our Supreme Redeemer THROUGH Yahshua and his name. Yahshua is our advocate or mediator with Father Yahweh.

The "pre-existence" doctrine also draws one into a dualism doctine as opposed to a triad doctrine. Trinitarians and Dualist both used the "pre-existence" doctrone as a misssionary tool to convert one to be redeemed by a triad god."Well, if you don't believe in the trinity you'll burn in hell!" If you don't believe that Yahshua pre-existed, there is no way you can truly understand Father Yahweh's Redemption!" I say to these people, "I don't need you!". To me they are spiritual outsiders!

For those who are easily offended by the use of the Jesus in reference to Yahshua

I myself also prefer the Name Yahweh and Yahshua over the names/titles used in the KJV. I also tend to believe more in the direction that these names/titles are pagan in origin, but I am not absolutly sure of this since it is also reasoned among many scholars of the Greek and Hebrew languuages that they could possibly be simply "bad transliteration" rather than etymologically pagan in origin. I am neither a scholar of Hebrew or Greek, nor am I an etymologist, so I can not say for sure either way. What I do know is that there are even disagreements among scholars of Hebrew and Greek languages and etymologist. I myself have problems with the English language.

The way I see the names Jesus and Jehovah is that thay are completely void of the Name of our Heavenly Father and Creator. I can see the pagan name Zeus in the name Jesus, but I can not see the set apart Name Yahweh in this name. The name Yahshua more acurately reveals to me that Yahweh is our redeemer since this is what this name means. I can see the pagan name Jove in the name Jehovah, but this is far from the set apart Name Yahweh. What bothers me about the titles 'Christ' and 'Christian' (cf. the feminine Christian names Christina or Kristina) is that they sound and look too much like the pagan name Chrishna (Krishna, KRSNA).

Was Yahshua Homeless

He was, in fact, a skilled tradesman who owned at least one home.

Often in television broadcasts and newspaper stories, especially around Christmas, people who claim to be Bible scholars or preachers make claims about Yahshua that are plainly false. Many of the reporters who quote these "scholars" have never taken the time to study the Bible and thus allow these misrepresentations to go unchallenged.

For instance, Yahshua was not a "homeless, itinerant preacher" as some claim. Though it is unlikely that he accumulated a great deal of wealth — taxes were high in those days of Roman oppression of the land of Palestine — Yahshua owned at least one home in the city of Capernaum.

"A few days later, when Yahshua again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.'' (Mark 2:1, NIV)

The Greek word translated as "home" is oikos, which means, "a family dwelling", or "one’s own home" as in this verse:

"'But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.' Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home [oikos]. " And the man got up and went home [oikos]. " (Matthew 9:6-7, NIV)

Other examples of oikos in context, are found in Mark 2:11 (home); Mark 5:38 (home), Mark 7:30 (home), Mark 8:3 (home); Luke 1:23 (home) et al.

Though Yahshua and his followers taught that the "love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" [NIV I Timothy 6:10] and that one cannot serve both Yahweh and "mammon" (money gained by the exercise of power over others) [Matthew 6:24; Luke 6:13 et al], the clothing Yahshua was wearing when he was killed was quite valuable, so much so that the soldiers who took it from him "cast lots" (gambled) to see who would get it rather than to tear the expensive, one piece garment.

"When the soldiers executed Yahshua, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. 'Let's not tear it,' they said to one another. 'Let's decide by lot who will get it.' This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, 'They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.' So this is what the soldiers did." (John 19:23-24, NIV)

Yahshua was said to be a carpenter but the Greek word tekton, which is translated as "carpenter" had a meaning quite different from the way carpenter is defined today. Easton’s Bible Dictionary offers this definition:

"An artificer in stone, iron, and copper, as well as in wood (2 Sam. 5:11; 1 Chr. 14:1; Mark 6:3). The tools used by carpenters are mentioned in 1 Sam. 13:19, 20; Judg. 4:21; Isa. 10: 15; 44:13."

Yahshua was a skilled stonemason, one who also worked with iron and copper and other metals rather than one who only dealt with wood in construction.

Many also claim that Yahshua was Merriam and Yahseph’s only child. The Bible clearly refutes this claim:

"Yahshua left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Merriam's son and the brother of James, Yahseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him. Yahshua said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." (Mark 6:1-4, NIV) [also Matthew 13:55-56]

Yahshua had four brothers, all named above, and at least two sisters (the Greek word adelphe, translated as "sisters" is plural). We also learn that Yahshua had a trade — he was a carpenter. The apostle Shaul also mentions one of Yahshua’s physical brothers:

"I saw none of the other apostles--only James, the Master's brother. '' (Galatians 1:19, NIV)

There are many other misrepresentations of what the Bible really teaches but the next time you hear some Bible "scholar" tell you that Yahshua was a "homeless, itinerant preacher", you will know that this person is distorting the words of the Bible and probably trying to make some political point rather than speaking the truth about Yahshua as told by the Bible.
