The 3 goals of WVU's Second Annual Maintenance Fest
Check out this highly touted event, the University of Virginia's Drunk Derby, presented by Maintenance Fest
Schedule Change Due to inclement weather conditions, the Pirates/Dodgers game will be attended on Sunday Afternoon. The guys will be spending Friday night at the WVU tennis house. Don't miss out.
Schedule of Events: Second Annual Maintenance Festival at WVU
THURSDAY, 4.24.03

Maintenance Fest kicks off with a bang on Thursday Night. The crew will be hosting the first ever Fest beer pong tournament at 216 Bent Tree Ct. Come watch team Giuliani/Downtown defend their title against the dynamite duo of Zach Hawkins and his revolving door of teammates. Perhaps "The G" himself will come out of the shadows to join Z.

Come join the guys for a chill night of NBA Playoffs, beer pong, and plenty of refreshments, brought to you by our friends at Milwaukee's Best Light. If the weather is nice, give us a shout as we chill on the balcony. Let Maintenance Fest begin!
FRIDAY, 4.25.03
Ladies and gentlemen, THE DAY OF MAINTENANCE. This is the crowned jewel of the fest. This is why you are reading this ridiculous website; this is what fuels the most exciting weekend of the semester.
3:00 PM The boys make the trip back to where it all started, Bennett Tower and the freshman dorms. Think of it of it as the Shi'ite Muslim voyage to Karbala, for instance. The guys will don backpacks and hidden beers as they travel to the community showers of the second floor. There, the maintenance will commence, and the booze will be flowing. Don't forget the Goldbond Anti-Itch powder though, fellas.

7:00 PM Pittsburgh here we come! The newly trimmed gentlemen will make their way up I-79 into the filthy city to take in the Pirates vs Dodgers game. Come join the guys as they tailgate outside PNC Park. The beautiful ladies of the University of Pittsburgh, Kim and Wendy, will be joining us. The 35 degree wind chill greeting us off the Alleghany river should be great in the upper deck.

11:00 PM After the Dodger victory, the guys hit the road to Morgantown to finish off the rest of the night partying with the WVU Tennis team. Its a damn shame what the university has done to them, by the way. But I digress.
SATURDAY, 4.26.03
The last, but certainly not the least of the three day Maintenance Fest conglomerate. As last year proved, the Saturday of the Fest can prove both surprising and unpredictable, but nevertheless, fun.
12:30 PM The guys will attend the annual Gold-Blue Spring Football game with the WVU Football squad. It should be very exciting, as the Mountaineers can only improve on last year's stellar 9-4 mark. The students will be sure to rush the field no matter what the outcome.

7:00 PM WVU's SpringFest! Despite having the Counting Crows perform at the Coliseum and making students pay to get in, the Maint Fest participants can take solace in the fact that the fraternities will still be having their annual shindigs during the concert. Look for the fellas at Sig Ep, if you can. The whole campus will probably be there.

WVU Maintenance Fest History
The First Annual Maintenance Fest was held on April 25-27, 2002. Scheduled around WVU's SpringFest, a once infant idea has now turned into an intergalactic phenomenoa.
The brains behind the creation of Maint Fest are Craig Giuliani, Zach Hawkins, and WVU tennis star J.R. Randall. They were the three participants in the actual maintenance in the showers (divided, mind you) of Bennett Tower, Floor 2, last year. But it wasn't just the actual maintenance that made this such a spectacle. The guys engaged in many activities throughout the 3 day affair, including a night of fine theater at the creative arts center, a trip to the city to see the Pirates take on the Padres, and attending WVU's SpringFest and the surrounding parties.
This years event will prove to be bigger and better than last year. Lets give a special shout out to those guys that made last years Fest the best: Matt Franzblau, Micah Fleming, Dave Kelch, Jeff Colligan, Tony Epkey, Craig Giuliani, JR Randall, Indiana Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal, The Rock, Avon Cobourne, and many many others.

Second Annual Maintenance Fest Goes Global
Maintenance Fest is taking it one step further this year. The celebration is going beyond West Virginia state borders. In a joint effort, colleges and universities from around the United States are joining in on the Maint Fest tradition.
Though not required to do the actual maintenance, these universities are willing to have their weekend plans and/or events sponsored under the maintenance fest banner. Lets take a look at this year's sponsors for the Second Annual WVU Maintenance Fest.
University of Virginia
The first annual Lambeth 474-8 Date Function will be held under the Maint Fest Conglomerate. Though not in an actual fraternity, these young bucks will stop at nothing for an excuse to get plastered (keeping in the maintenance fest tradition). Mel's Diner will be pleased to be hosting these well dressed wahoos and their beautiful dates. Thanks to our torch bearers: Bart Isley, Brett Jerasa, Tom Mathews, and the rest of the Lambeth crowd.

Virginia Tech
Despite getting embarrassed in front of the home crowd, 21-18, by the West Virginia football team, Virginia Tech is pleased to join in on the Maintenance Fest tradition. The First Annual "Anything but Clothes" party will be put on by Jason Myers and the boys of 303 Webb. Lets hope this title doesn't apply to Frank Beamer, however.

James Madison University
Why not celebrate a 14:52 5K time by drinking abnormal amounts of alcoholic beverages? Thats exactly what Ted Herbert and the JMU men's track team are doing. Come join the guys at the now famous 889D in the commons. Perhaps the JMU Beer Pong team will make an appearance for this Maint Fest sponsored event.
Longwood
The Fest would like to welcome Longwood College aboard to the globalization process. Maintenance head of services Eric Jerasa is pleased to have his school aboard. "I'm all about helping out in whatever way I can," Jerasa said. "Maintenance Fest is something we take very seriously here. Unfortunately for me, I'm so damn hairy that I have a Maintenance Fest every 72 hours."
Your school can still be on the list! Contact me ASAP if you want the Fest to sponsor your weekend events.
