Skills Assessment in the WV Works Program
We pre-test our students to assess their academic strengths and weaknesses and to determine a path which they can follow in reaching their goals. We administer progress tests, formal or informal, to let them know how well they are moving along that path. Finally, we administer post-tests to measure the degree to which those goals have been reached. The Approved Standardized Assessment Instrument for pre-tests and post-test is Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
