My History:

I went to Swanleigh Boarding Hostel at the age of 5 and went to Middle Swan State School for about 3 and a half yrs . I t was not bad , for a boarding school, at least for me. I could see the cows and horses, every day, from my dormitory. Then I went to De La Salle Catholic Day School for 6 months and then to Castledare Catholic Boarding Collage, CBC, for 3 yrs. One good thing about it, well, 2 things actually, it was beside the river, which was good fishing and we swam in it a lot in the summer. But best of all, it had the largest steam miniature railway in the southern hemisphere, approximately 3 miles of track. Then to Clontarf Boys Town Catholic Collage, CBC,(Christian Brothers Collage) for 3yrs. The best part of that place was the 33 mitre pool, being on the river for fishing and it had a farm. I went to farm, to work on some weekends and help ride and train newly broken in horses. It was fun, even though I use to hit the dirt a bit. It had its good points and bad points, like all schools do. I can not say I learnt much while there but I can say I saw the real world and learnt how to stay alive, and when to turn a blind eye. lololol But that never shut me up either I think. I got 6 of the best of the rubber strap, at least once a day, for speaking my mind or for what they might call day dreaming. School was never a joy for me, it was more like a nightmare gone wrong and was something I could never seem to fit into or conform too. I have seen things and have had things done to me that I won't explain and which I am not proud of knowing and certainly did not want to see. But as the 60s, 70s go, no one listened to a kid anyway and in some cases even don't want to listen now in 2006. But that's the way life is. You live it and you must come to terms with it, the best way you can, right or wrong as it maybe. BUT DON'T JUDGE ME for you were not there and I WAS .

I am not a catholic but I do believe in God .

I just do not fully believe in the church and all that it stands for or what they try to teach. I believe everyone has a right to believe in their own way or beliefs. My pet hate is a church or religion that knocks another church or religion for their belief. I grew up mostly on farms, in one way or another . My stepfather, Luigi Geovani Pensini, was the only father I knew. He was born in TORINO, Italy, in 1909. He moved to Western Australia when he was about 9 or 10 yrs of age. My grand mother, Gertrude Blanch Moxam, was born in Hughenden, North Queensland, Australia. My grand father Leonard Thomas Humphries, was born in Chubut Province, in Argentina, South America, to welsh parents and he kept his welsh citizenship papers, even while living in Australia. My mom, Jean Humphries, was born in Bassendean, Western Australia on 8 / July / 1933. My real father, William Gosney ( William Terrace ) was born in Ayr Nth Queensland. And while he was a very heavy drinker, I can say from the short time I had the privilege of getting to knew him, he was a great friend to me . I think he knew, within himself, he could never play the role of my father (silently to himself) but that was part of the reason he was a great friend to me, when I needed someone in a strange town. My only regret is that my real father and ma never got to see their 1st grandson, as he died before that could happen and from what I was told, ma went not long after him.

My great grand father was a Walsh farmer, in the Mora district of west Australia, and died of strychnine poisoning because he could not read and write properly. He first went to Argentina to see what he could find, with his family and a few other relatives. Some of their family died there, some stayed, some moved to Mexico, America, Canada and some went back to Wales and stayed there.

I was diagnosed dyslexic, back in 1986. I never tried to let it get the better of me so I hope you can understand all of this. I started riding horses at the age of 6yrs old, doing stock work at the age of 8 yrs old, and helping Dad (my stepfather), when ever I could, on our farm. I started driving tractors then, as well, and ploughed my first thousand acres when I was 13 yrs old. I started shearing sheep left handed when I was 14, on a farm in Cranbrook. It was 1971 when I learnt to shear them right handed. I spent the next 10 months of the next 11 yrs working in shearing sheds as a shed hand, as a shearer, killing sheep and cutting them up for food, 3 times a week. lololol Trust me, shearing teams can eat and I mean eat. When I wasn't shearing, I was tractor driving on farms, planting crops or doing stock work. I was shearing up until 1979/80 Christmas, when I moved to Melbourne , I got a job working for OGDEN INDUSTRIES at Huntingdale, in Victoria, as a lathe operator and I stayed there for about 6 to 7 months, I came down with the flu 3 times in a month and then I got pneumonia. That was when I when to Brisbane and tracked down my real father. I had never met him before I moved in with him and ma. While staying with the, I got a truckies offsider job . I finally got a job with Clearview Windows at Geebung in Brisbane, making windows and specializing in security doors. As a job, it was ok until they changed owners. I got married in November 1981 and over the next 20yrs, had 5 most awesome children. I also spent time in the army and 3 yrs working in the military civil manpower branch as a casual / part-time worker. I worked mostly in stores and reserve camps, which was fun and the rest is another story. In 1988, I went cotton chipping with a friend and then we finally moved to Talwood, and we  worked on a farm there. It was while there, that my eldest son, BJ, had a lump the size of a golf ball come up at the back of his ear. We had to rush him up to Brisbane, to the hospital, to see the specialist there. It was a nightmare for 48 hrs, as everyone thought he would be deaf after the operation. It took 5 yrs and skin graphs and one a pigskin graph, to give him back his hearing. It will never be perfect but at least he has some hearing. It was a month later we moved to Moree N.S.W, to live for the next 4 yrs. It was while there, I got a job working for Colly Farms, 60klms out of town in 1989. It was while tractor driving, that I squashed 3 discs in my lower back in 1990 and spent the next 4 yrs learning to cope.  In 1994, I managed to drive a taxi on weekends. It was a great job until I had a taxi accident on 21 Feb. 1998, at 5pm Saturday. The driver that ran into me said quote " sorry driver I did not see you I was to busy skylarking with the Mrs. and kids” Well, that finished my driving career. And I got pinched nerves in my left side, head / neck and shoulder blade, which gave me total nerve damage on the left side. It was in 1998, that I got interested in computers and brought my 1st IBM compatible 486 lololol geeee I've come a long way since then, a 400 AMD. In 2001, I got a divorce because of the accident. And in 2002, I got my compo payout and went traveling around the states. I loved every bit of my trip, 26,000 miles and 1200 photos, In 2003 I brought a a 1700+AMD desktop, while in Victoria, B.C., Canada and published my first book in the states. In 2004, I came back to Australia and in 2005, I went back to Victoria, B.C., Canada, published my 2nd book in the states, brought a ACER 2.66 ghz laptop and I got married.  In 2006, we ended back up in Geraldton, West Australia but I would rather be else where like in AMERICA for filling a DREAM . Now my 4th book is ready to go to the publishers and I am working with a country singer / songwriter Rory Ruff Colorado.

This is my first book out now and available through most major book stores world wide ... published febuary 2004

This is my very first attempt of ever writting poetry or anything for that matter and it have approxamently 75 mixed photos of AUSTRALIA .. CANADA .. AMERICA in it as well as 200 peices of poetry in it . A Letter About The Author’s First BookHi Garry,
I finally get the chance to tell you my thoughts on your book –
" One Aussie Endeavours "
Firstly thank you for allowing me to read it -- although I still
have not read from front to back covers -
I have read many of the poems and stories in it. I find each
One so different to the previous one -
I feel - that I can feel your mood - if you are having a good or
bad day -- some poems are so deep, so sincere, and so true to life –
then there are the others that make me sad - because I feel
these are the dark days - the one that haunt you and it all
comes through in your work. If I had to word this is a simple sentence -- it would go like this " I feel I am reading your diary "(your name is not
mentioned - but the thoughts are so real - both the good and
bad). The more articles I read - the more I want to read – never
knowing from one title to the next title what is coming next –
some titles give a hint - but its not till you read it from top to
bottom - do you take in the full extent of the work you have
put into this great book. Once again thank you Garry for sharing these intimate moments with us all - cause that is how I see this book of
your - your feelings of love, dreams, desire, lust, hate, distrust,
trust, lonely, fulfilled, happy and sad – and many more!! Not only are the words special - so are the pictures - your
travels make this book just a little different to other poetry
books I have read.
Thank you Garry
Your friend always
Kate -- ascot vale.. Victoria , Australia ..
