Australian born and bred ...

Australia is quite often refer to as " the land down under looking up". been around Australia a few times and each time the landscape changes it is that vast - wild - tame all in one and beautiful to & dangerious.
Traveling Australia ( ozz ) can only be done if you have no time limit . there is so much to do and to experience the possibilities are endless. West Australia has some of the best beaches in the world .. Everyone from overseas goes to the east coast sadly enough they forget about Western Australian so it goes largely un-noticed. Australia in away is quite similar to America but with out the history behind it .

A Little about ME ...

Born 19 / October / 1955 at Saint Annes Nursing Home , Ellesmere rd , Mount Lawley , Perth , Western Australia ..

Schooling: 
My History:
I went to Swanleigh Boarding Hostel at the age of 5 and went to Middle Swan State School for about 3 and a half yrs . I t was not bad , for a boarding school, at least for me. I could see the cows and horses, every day, from my dormitory. Then I went to De La Salle Catholic Day School for 6 months and then to Castledare Catholic Boarding Collage, CBC, for 3 yrs. One good thing about it, well, 2 things actually, it was beside the river, which was good fishing and we swam in it a lot in the summer. But best of all, it had the largest steam miniature railway in the southern hemisphere, approximately 3 miles of track. Then to Clontarf Boys Town Catholic Collage, CBC,(Christian Brothers Collage) for 3yrs. The best part of that place was the 33 mitre pool, being on the river for fishing and it had a farm. I went to farm, to work on some weekends and help ride and train newly broken in horses. It was fun, even though I use to hit the dirt a bit. It had its good points and bad points, like all schools do. I can not say I learnt much while there but I can say I saw the real world and learnt how to stay alive, and when to turn a blind eye. lololol But that never shut me up either I think. I got 6 of the best of the rubber strap, at least once a day, for speaking my mind or for what they might call day dreaming. School was never a joy for me, it was more like a nightmare gone wrong and was something I could never seem to fit into or conform too. I have seen things and have had things done to me that I won't explain and which I am not proud of knowing and certainly did not want to see. But as the 60s, 70s go, no one listened to a kid anyway and in some cases even don't want to listen now in 2006. But that's the way life is. You live it and you must come to terms with it, the best way you can, right or wrong as it maybe. BUT DON'T JUDGE ME for you were not there and I WAS .

I would like to think of my writing style more 
â€œUNORTHODOX- CONTROVERSIAL- UNCONVENTIONALâ€,- as something to be enjoyed by all. 
I would like to think what I write is something that can have meaning to someone and that it may even bring light to some different ways of thinking and seeing things and to broaden the scope or range or area to life and the things around us in general.

I was diagnosed with DYSLEXICA in 1986 but was determined not to let it get the better of me in any way, shape, or form. I guess I'm stubborn that way. 
MY AIM is to sell my books, try to write a few songs, and try to write more books and improve as I go. My dream is to make friends along the way, and make my books unique in a way by putting photos of my travels into them or turn them into cover photos, but enjoyable to everyone young and old alike. 
But most of all to achieve my dreams the one I have had since I was 8yrs old, and now most of all of returning to my home my hearts desire AMERICA and the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia / Kentucky as soon as I can.

If you are buying these books, you would be showing support for a manâ€™s simple attempts to further his writing of other such books. With little money available, and no formal training in writing, no lessons in the poetry that comes to him, he will truly thank you for supporting his humble attempts in having these books published. 
Garry was born and bred an Australian, and only managed to handle formal schooling until second year high school, where he opted to go to work, rather than waste his time on useless lessons which were becoming more and more difficult for him to understand, and relate to in his everyday life at that time. 
To know him is to know a person who has enormous forethought and insight into everyday things but trying to put it all into words are very difficult for him, given as most dyslexic/ADHD sufferers are quite brilliant, but unable to express themselves easily.
Many others who suffer these learning disabilities will relate to this, and may be encouraged to get in and â€œgive it a goâ€ as Australians are inclined to do. Others will see it as an achievement of enormous efforts on behalf of this individual. 
Knowing him as I do, the circumstances under which he has written these books, the enormous physical pain he suffers daily, (the result of a serious motor vehicle accident, plus botched surgery leaving him with nerve damage, and little or no relief from continual physical pain). 
He taught himself how to use a computer, and then how to use each individual program he has needed in his endeavorâ€™s to achieve his dreams. 
His methods maybe unorthodox, but he manages to achieve his goals, hence the names of his books - unorthodox, wishes, hopes, dreams. 
Garry, the man, is a very complicated individual, tall in posture, and a heart of pure gold, he has a mop of curly hair, an awesome sense of humor and is basically a very shy person, but comes over as very bold, to the point of brazen when he is just not sure how he is being perceived. He is outspoken and tact is not his forteâ€™, but he gets the meaning across, and if you happen to cross him or lie to him you will get the wrath of the Gods on you. 
His memory is brilliant, his only shortfall being his physical disabilities, and his lack of formal education, but his â€œstreet wise knowledgeâ€, and his general knowledge is brilliant, often he will quote obscure and little known laws of the land, (he should have been a politician, but his honesty would not allow him to be one â€“ he would shred too many people with his verbalâ€™s). He stays up to date with the world affairs by getting the news online every single day and keeping abreast of all the happenings worldwide, whilst watching local news and playing music (One of his great loves is country music- although his tastes in music are many and varied). 
The more I know him, the more I have come to know a man who is really very smart, and who thinks long and hard before he reaches a decision, often mulling over in his mind, or writing down on a note page all the options available, the laws governing that decision, and finally the decision he has reached. He despises people who think he is dumb or stupid, because he is far from that, and he becomes quite irrational at times when verbal words are not forthcoming for him. 
He is generous beyond doubt, and his love or favorite pastime is fishing and many a night he has sat and fished, and quietly talked to anyone interested in hearing what he has to say, or another fellow fishing person, who likes the quiet and the beauty of the night, and the solidarity or loneness one feels while fishing. I have seen him strike up friendships at the waterâ€™s edge and then give his entire catch to someone down and out on their luck, or a little boy who is sorely disappointed that his luck is not the same as the tall stranger on the shore. A simple thank you is all that encourages him, and he as shown many a stranger the right way to rig up a fishing line and how to catch a fish, when all the time he could have been fishing himself and just mind his own business - he isnâ€™t like that - he always is ready to lend a hand or help another genuine human being. 
Having learned a little about his family and his background, his books are almost like reading his personal diary. Like most adults over 40, he has struggled to come to terms with the way his life has panned out, his loves, his children, his mother, his schooling, his friends, all seem to get a mention in his books, but all have been carefully integrated into the books whilst retaining their anonymity, and exact dates times and places, although some have been vaguely mentioned. Other topics are events, times and places and people of interest and public general knowledge. 
During his travels Garry has become an avid photographer, and everywhere he goes his camera goes with him. He loves natures gifts and beauty, and will often stop along the roadside just long enough to take a picture before resuming his trip, (whether it be shopping or travelling and sightseeing).

I am not a catholic but I do believe in God . 
I just do not fully believe in the church and all that it stands for or what they try to teach. I believe everyone has a right to believe in their own way or beliefs. My pet hate is a church or religion that knocks another church or religion for their belief. I grew up mostly on farms, in one way or another . My stepfather, Luigi Geovani Pensini, was the only father I knew. He was born in TORINO, Italy, in 1909. He moved to Western Australia when he was about 9 or 10 yrs of age. My grand mother, Gertrude Blanch Moxam, was born in Hughenden, North Queensland, Australia. My grand father Leonard Thomas Humphries, was born in Chubut Province, in Argentina, South America, to welsh parents and he kept his welsh citizenship papers, even while living in Australia. My mom, Jean Humphries, was born in Bassendean, Western Australia on 8 / July / 1933. My real father, William Gosney ( William Terrace ) was born in Ayr Nth Queensland. And while he was a very heavy drinker, I can say from the short time I had the privilege of getting to knew him, he was a great friend to me . I think he knew, within himself, he could never play the role of my father (silently to himself) but that was part of the reason he was a great friend to me, when I needed someone in a strange town. My only regret is that my real father and ma never got to see their 1st grandson, as he died before that could happen and from what I was told, ma went not long after him. 
My great grand father was a Walsh farmer, in the Mora district of west Australia, and died of strychnine poisoning because he could not read and write properly. He first went to Argentina to see what he could find, with his family and a few other relatives. Some of their family died there, some stayed, some moved to Mexico, America, Canada and some went back to Wales and stayed there.

Excellent job. 
I will save your page and publish some your work in my next edition. 
Unfortunately, I just loaded the present issue last week so we are looking at 
next month or maybe later. 
Itâ€™s great to see that some people still care what America stands for. 
I saw on your page that you like German Shepardâ€™s; they are my favorite breed 
also. 
My Shepard "Jack" passed away last year from cancer of the spleen, that is him on my cover page of MixedMedia. I miss him everyday, I didnâ€™t even know he was sick until the day that he passed, he died in my arms. 
Keep up the good work Garry and stay in touch.

Great picture of Jack Keroac...he started the Beatnik craze in the fifties 
with his book "Route 66"...( he looks a little drunk in this shot...LOL), it 
was a good book although he never really wrote anything after that compared 
with 66. 
One of my favorite writers was Jack London; his complete works are there, 
"Call of the Wild, To light a Fire, John Barleycorn, etc...Itâ€™s a must read 
compliments of SCU at Berkley, he was an amazing writer and lived a life most of us dream about. 
I also have Mississippi writers...great stuff; the State of Mississippi has 
produced some great talent. 
I also have included Ernest Hemingway, I love his books. 
Robert Anderson (Little Hawk) is a Korean War Veteran and amateur writer who is also a friend I met through the Viet Vet chat site I belong to. 
Your poetry will add a nice touch to page. 
I get lost here often myself.
