WELCOME   HOME  TO   THE   ...         FRONTIER  REGULATORS,  ASSOCIATION (A Cowboy Action Shooting Club) at Thornton,  West  Virginia (Thornton is about 8 miles from Grafton,  West  Virginia) The FRONTIER REGULATORS shoot at Frontier Town.  (The home of FrontierFest).   Using GRAFTON as the reference point on your map.   Right outside Grafton is the intersection of US Rt 50 and US Rt 119, which forms the 4-Corners intersection.  (Rite Aid on one side and Walgreens on the other).   At that intersection take US Rt 50 East 4 miles to Thornton and make a right at the little Post Office.  Follow the Frontier Town Signs, keeping to the right at every intersection and turning right at the intersection with the 4-way stop sign, by the old elementary school, onto Frontier Town Road.   At the bottom of the hill, take a right through the gate and follow through to Frontier Town.   Frontier Town is Approximately 4 miles south of the Thornton Post Office, 1 mile east of the Tygart Lake Golf Course and 8 miles from Grafton.                            Check-out   Frontier Fest      just "select" the Link below                SASS:  Single  Action  Shooting  Society   SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society is an international organization created to preserve and promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting™.   Cowboy Action Shooting™ is a multifaceted amateur shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West: single action revolvers; lever action rifles; and side by side double barreled, pre-1889 pump, or lever action shotguns. The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, Old West Style. SASS members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting. The Frontier Regulators shoot at Terry Austin’s Frontier Town at Thornton, West Virginia. (Thornton is about eight miles from Grafton, near the Tygart Lake State Park). We shoot the second Saturday of every month, year round (weather Permitting), 9:30 Sign-Up and Safety Briefing with a 10:00 a.m. start time. FRONTIER REGULATORS ASSN. Membership is $35 the first year, then $25 each following year.  Our Membership Year runs from January 1st to December 31st.   The Monthly Shooting Fee is $15.00, plus $3.00 for each Side Match payable to Alice or Michelle at registration.   We usually shoot 3-6 stages, depending on the weather, plus Long Range Side Matches each month.   Our Side Matches consist of Long Range Rifle: A. Lever Action, Revolver Caliber. B. Lever Action, Rifle Caliber. C. Buffalo Single Shot. (Currently we are shooting at 280 yards offhand. In 2009 we are adding shooting at 350 +/- yards off sticks). At the Match Director’s option, either total time used to shoot the required number of shots or a shoot-off may be used to break ties of Side Matches.
