Just recently, my hubby's band The Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band played in Little Cove, PA on a beautiful farm. This is a private party that the band has been playing for the last five years. Most of the people that comes to this party works for the Pentagon. I talked to a couple of people that told me some stories about the attack on September 11. One person's office was only 30 feet away from main damage. Even though this was a party to relax -- you could see the worry and strain on their faces.
We always get to meet a lot of interesting people each year at this gig. There is a gentleman that is from Ireland and he always plays the bones (that he got from Ireland) on a couple of songs with the band. One guy walked down from the hill to the party and was playing the bagpipes. He was wearing the whole outfit -- kilt and all. There is one gentleman that is quite a dancer -- he knows how to lead and can make you look like a professional dancer. I always dance about two with him. Sonshine Joey's favorite thing to do at this party is to ride the hayride most of the day while we are there. :-)
We are doing something a lil different this year for Halloween. Stoney Creek is playing at a local restaurant that night for a Halloween Bash. They are also throwing a party for the kiddies in another part of the restaurant. Sonshine Joey is dressing up with his bib overalls and straw hat. He is also looking forward to singing a song with the band. One of his favorite songs is "Bringing Mary Home" and it is perfect for Halloween.
In case you would like to see the people in hubby's band, just click on the link below.

There are treasures to be found in an attic. Let's take a look at Aferg's Attic. You will not find bats in her attic, but hummingbirds. Do you want to decorate the homesite with attic treasures? Just do it with some of Aferg's graphics. You won't find old LP's, but if you want some music, you can find some cool midi's. Are you getting a lil hungry just going thru the attic? Check out Aferg's cookbook.

Trick or treat for UNICEF
Lots of kiddies help UNICEF by collecting for them by using the UNICEF orange boxes while trick or treating.
In response to President Bush's call to action, all "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" funds this year will support UNICEF programs to save the lives of Afghan children faced with the triple threat of war, winter, and famine.

Amusement Park Physics
How do physics laws affect amusement park ride design? Find out here! In this site's exhibit on amusement park rides, you'll have a chance to find out by designing your own roller coaster. Plan it carefully--it has to pass a safety inspection. You can also experiment with bumper car collisions.

A ghost town is any place where people once lived, or are still living, that is a shadow of its past glory. Usually when you think of ghost towns, you think of the old west. However, this site lists ghost towns from all over the United States and Canada.
One interesting "ghost town" to check is the Portugee Road in the Virginia section.

Romania
I was going to see if I could find a link about just Transylanvia, Romania, but the more I clicked on different links about Romania, I thought that I should include the whole county.
On the top right look for the link for about Romania to learn about the history and general information of Romania. On the general information page are more links to learn more about Romania.

Paper quilling
Paper quilling, also known as paper filigree, is an art form that is over five hundred years old. The name is derived from the feather quill; on which the strips of paper were rolled. Quilling is the technique of rolling narrow strips of papers around a pin, then shaping them to form a design. The art of quilling has the advantage of being inexpensive, requires no special tools and can be enjoyed by any age group.

I have mentioned Webshots before in Sonshine News, but I think it is worth mentioning again. It is my favorite program for my desktop wallpaper and screensaver. Whenever someone comes to my home, they just love the pictures that are on my screen. Even the puter repair man that was working on my old puter wanted to know where I found the pictures for my desktop. It is a very easy program to use. You can get pictures of the day from the main site or collections of photos from the gallery. My favorite pictures are the nature scenes.

Always a Way
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-4
