------------========| SONSHINE CHIT CHAT |========-----------

This weekend, our little family went to a Hispanic music festival. We love checking out free activities in our area. :-) This is was the first year that this festival was held. Lots of wonderful food and music. We did the point and buy method of getting our food from different vendors. I know very little Spanish and the vendors seemed to know very little English, but we were able to order. :-)

Sonshine News has another staff writer. :-) Kimberly will be helping me out with the For Inspiration section. Kimberly is a very dear internet friend of mine. My family and I have also had the pleasure of meeting her in person.
Kimberly has a very interesting email addy. She got it from a biblical reference. She told me that it says in the bible, God says that if we do not praise God, the rocks will cry out. She loves to praise God, therefore she is OneLessRck (Rock). I just think that is a wonderful way to share her love for God.

------------========| WHAT'S COOKING ON THE WEB |========-----------
By Alice

Aahhhhhhh, Halloween is just around the corner. Perhaps I am prejudiced as my birthday is right amongst the festivities, but it has always been a favorite of mine. As a child, having my birthday during this time of year proved to be double fun. I always had really cool birthday parties with spooky themes and everyone could show off their costumes. And, of course, trick-or-treat was devised in my honor...or at least I believed that at the time! I was shattered to find out as an adolescent that this was indeed not the case. However, I do still have fun passing out candy and taking my little guy out...yeah, he is only 19 months old, but I get a vicarious pleasure out of it :-)

This week I am providing you with several great links to assist you in your search for the perfect Halloween party food. Last year I was surprised with a Halloween birthday party by several of my family and friends. One of the items there was a pumpkin cake, which is very easy to make if you want to keep it simple. Bake a bundt cake and ice it with orange frosting. Purchase a package of colored ice-cream cones and choose a green one for the stem. To do this, place it upside down in the hole of the bundt cake after it is frosted. Voila! Instant Halloween cake!

Creepy Cuisine

I really like family.com. They offer many wonderful resources as far as articles and projects. Their Halloween section is awesome. This link takes you directly to the Halloween recipes, however if you are in need of costume ideas, etc., you might want to skim through the whole section.

Leave it to Kraft to come up with some great Halloween recipes. You can find such palate pleasing items as Kool Aid Ghoul Aid, Eyeball Potion, & Coffin Sandwiches....ewwwww.
