GINNY STUCKEY'S WINE SHOP

Ginny has very kindly given us information about how she made this wonderful little vignette. Her husband is a wine enthusiast and this was a gift for him.

Ginny writes:

"I purchased the paper mache box already covered. I think I got it at either Hobby Lobby or a discount store like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I used a few leftover items to finish the floor and the wall. The floor is a piece of a plastic sheet of stone that I first painted gray for the grout. Then I used at least 2 or 3 other paint colors dabbed on to mimic the look of real stones. The wall is a small piece of lattice, again a leftover, that I base painted dark green and stippled with a medium and light green color to add interest. There is a short shelf on the end if the lattice to serve as a place for tasters to set their glasses.

The table, wine box, cigar box, picnic basket and trays of food and wines were all purchased items. The little shop has copies of real Wine Spectator magazines that I took digital photos of and shrank on my computer to the correct size. The small basket of grapes on the floor was a club project that I made from card stock and polymer clay - very easy to do.

The light was installed by clipping off the plug and feeding the wire through a small hole I drilled after deciding where to place the lamp. I reattached the plug and it was good to go. I hope this is enough information. It seems like it would be easy to repeat the bones of the process with any ˜themed" paper mache box. I hope people have fun with it."

Thanks so much, Ginny, for sharing this delightful project. Now, if I could only find such a perfect box! Hmmmm...
