ONE MORE TIME TEACHING CLUB OPENS MEMBERSHIP

ONE MORE TIME is a NAME miniature club with a mission. The club exists solely to introduce new people to the world of miniatures within our communities.

The club was formed in 2004 with membership limited to the committee which produced the very successful Indiana State Day 2004, "It's About Time." Part of the income from that event was retained to purchase supplies and tools and fund teaching activities. Our members work together to find opportunities to teach workshops to people new to miniatures, plan projects, put together kits, and serve as instructors. We have taught walk-in make 'n take projects offered free to all participants (i.e., Crafts Potpourri at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair) and pre-registered workshops at local libraries and private gatherings for a minimal fee (usually $5). Of the approximately 275 people who have participated in these events, about two-thirds have been children and teens, wonderful prospects for future mini club members.

ONE MORE TIME has now voted to open its membership to any experienced miniaturist willing to help create and teach miniature projects to novices. With most of our current members located in north/central Indiana, we especially encourage miniaturists from lower Michigan and northwestern Ohio to consider working with us to help us expand our activities into those areas. Dues are minimal ($5.00) and planning meetings infrequent (three to four times a year).

The club would welcome any NAME member who wants to work. If you would like to join with us in "spreading the hobby" and/or know of other miniaturists who might also be interested, please call or e-mail Martha Sims, One More Time Project Coordinator, at (574) 264-9740 or gpgmsims@maplenet.net.
