"For Eternity"

Days become years, Years become a lifetime
Lifetimes are but the beginning of it all
Enduring hardships and heartbreak
Young lives crossed paths

Souls of youth, Hearts of lovers
We knew not what had begun
Or where it would lead as the hands of fate beckoned
Children were received with open arms and tears of joy
All seemed so right and forever

How would one know of today?
Of the change, Lives rearranged
No, One could never know of the paths to be walked together
And then but one alone

And she sits and dreams of days gone past
And what he had been to her very being
Old face forces a smile, As old eyes tear again
They were such good times
They were such special days indeed

She raises wrinkled hands to the sky and claims
Oh dear man of mine hear me please
You were my true love, My fire and passion
Always there for me

And as she pushes white hair from her face
She whispers with a voice much like that of a child's
And I shall love you for eternity.
