Discography added.
Tour dates updated.
If you haven't picked it up yet, you can still see and hear a bit of 'Inside Out on the new Discography page. I have been considering doing a review, but if major magazines got advanced promotional copies and wrote about it already (ahem) then maybe I won't... (02/26/00)
The limited edition 10-inch "Saturday" EP was released on the 31st. According to Matador, only 500 will be released. The EP also has two instrumental tracks, which are supposed to be "exclusive" (ooh). Until the release of Genius + Love Part 2, one would suppose. (02/04/00)
YLT music is in 'toons again. Georgia's sister Emily has a new short Pigeon Within, to be at Sundance. The featured track is call "Danelectro 3" and is from the sessions for'Inside Out
A tour supporting 'Inside Out began in D.C. on February 25. For more info, go here. They'll be doing some set with Neil Innes (from Bonzo Dog Band and did music for Monty Python) for part of the European leg. Mac McCaughan from Superchunk and David Kilgour from the Clean are also supposed to be playing with the group for the tour.
Two versions of "Sugarcube," the album version and a live version, are on the Matador 10th-anniversary thingy, Everything is Nice. There will also be a DVD music video comp for Nice featuring the "Sugarcube" vid.

-- webmaster's note: I'm only commenting on it now because I did not see it until the reruns, but the November 15 '98 episode of "the Simpsons" about Homer's search for his hippie roots and middle name, featuring YLT, was a huge disapointment! With all due credit to Matt Groening, its nice that Yo La, not to mention NRBQ, get their music and names up there for a few seconds (before you have an ad cut in, this is.) But it's not fair to fans, Sonic Youth didn't get enough dialogue during the "Homerpalooza" episode, but it was still great. With the build-up for the event I got, I deserve to see my favorite band with overbites and bright yellow skin saying biting things. Oh yeah, when's Eugene Chadbourne going to make an appearence?

Like Yo La? You should check out James McNew in another great band, the Christmas.
