Syphilis were up first, and as always I was late getting there, so I only saw about the last five songs. I didn't take any photo's of these guys either. They played well, sounded good, and put on a good show.
Decayed Divinity hit the stage next, and even with a few line up changes over the last twelve months, they seem to have settled into this line up nicely. Now primarily on vocals, Rob was the previous bassist as well as handling the vocals. They now have Lee on bass, Lauren on keyboards, Andrew on drums, Chad and Stuart on guitars.
This band always seem to play well, and play well they did. If you don't own their first CD, you should go out and get yourself a copy before the new one comes out in a couple of months.
Next up; Elysium. I bought their CD Dreamscapes a few months back, and I'm addicted to it now, so I was looking forward to seeing these guys play. They played a good set, and sounded awesome. I find the only thing missing was the female vocals belonging to Judy, who sings on the CD. All in all, these are fucking brilliant. Get Dreamscapes if you don't already own it.
Miscreation took to the stage with the entire crowd screaming abuse and guzzling their Tooheys Old like there was no tomorrow. They have a pretty loyal following here in Sydney now. As some of you will know from a previous set of pics I did on Miscreation, I call them the Lager Kings of the Sydney Metal scene, and that was an odd thing about this gig. Mark (vocals) ALWAYS has a bottle of Old in his hand when he is singing. If you'll take notice of these most recent pics, you'll see that there isn't a beer to be seen! He claims to have been the designated driver that night....lol
Anyway, they played well, then Meat's (Pete) guitar decided it didn't wanna work anymore. The rest of the band kept playing and Pete somehow got it going again. There is one pic of him right after the problem was rectified. He has both arms in the air as if to say, "FUCK! It works!!" LOL
Ok, enough of my rambling, onto the photo's. As far as I know, Miscreation and Syphilis are the only bands with websites at the moment. You can find links to these on my Australian Metal Links page.
If you want to use any of the following pics for any reason, email me and I'll send them to you. Otherwise, bugger off!!!
A Few Misc. Photos From The Gig.
