Earth2025 is an interactive on-line game in which each gamer is given his/her own country. Each user must be sure to provide enough food for their citizens, while still making sure to have enough military to protect themselves from other land-grabbing countries.
You do not need to download anything for this game. Just go to the main site and choose "Create Account". You will be required to fill out a form, but nothing else. I will now give an explanation on the three different types of Earth 2025.
Standard: This game, has clans(large groups of people who live by their own set of rules...and band together for protection fron other countries). Level A is played by most people; it is not much, more aggressive than Level B.
Tournament: This game is without clans. People can form alliances, though for some protection. The higher you rank, the more competitive a level you are placed on, next reset.
Free For All:waiting for someone to send me a summary
There are three main strategies: Farmer, Casher/Techer, and Industrialist. In the beginning, no matter what strategy you are using ALWAYS:
1.go to "Main Menu" from the left hand column...scroll down, select "Country Management" and set your taxes to 35%. This action gives your country more money each turn.
2. sell your army by going to "Purchases" and selecting "Sell Military". This action allows your country to make more money each turn.
3. Build 100 construction sites (your goal is to build 200, but 100 is a good start). This allows you to build around 55 buildings each turn.
Now, for the explanation of the strategies:
Farmer: A farmer strategy means that you build only construction sites and farms (by going to "build" and typing the number you want). Then, while turns are spent, lots of "bushels" (food) are made. These bushels are sold, to get a profit, at a price around 4 or 5 each. To do this, go to "Market" then "sell Goods". Choose how many you want to sell (usually all of them).
Casher/Techer: A casher/techer strategy means that you build only construction sites and research labs(by going to "build" and typing the number you want). Then, turns are spent on gaining "tech points" by going to "research". These techs are sold, to get a profit, at a price between 1800 and 3000. To do this, go to "Market" then "sell Tech". Choose how many you want to sell (usualy as many as possible).
Industrialist: An industrialist strategy means that you build only construction sites and Industrial Complexes(by going to "build" and typing the number you want). Then, while turns are spent, lots of military is gained. The military parts have different prices. Just go along with the suggested price and soon you will notice patterns. To do this, go to "Market" then "sell goods". Choose how many you want to sell (usualy a couple thousand-depending on how big your military is).
Having just one type of building leaves you without some things (such as food, military, or technology). Be sure to buy all that you lack from "Market" or "Purchases" depending on which is cheaper.
Of course, strategies can be combined to your liking.
Only the "Standard" game has clans. As stated earlier, clans are just bunches of people banded together for protection. There are rules to live by, which must not be broken. To research a clan, just choose "clans" from the left hand column, and choose a link from the bottom of the screen. You will find several statistics of the top clans, including their web sites. When you find a clan that interests you, go to their web page and apply. I suggest checking out The New Monsters. They are pretty good, and really nice. They can really help you with the topics this page lacks.
Alliances are two people agreements in which goods are automatically sent. Alliances are made by going to "relations" and sending an offer to someone whom you think is your skill level, or will be a great advantage to you.
An offensive alliance means that when you attack anyone, part of your partner's army helps you in the attack (and the other way around).
A defensive alliance means when you are attcaked, part of your partner's army helps you beat the attacker (and the other way around).
A research alliance is when you research technology, for every certain amount of points you research, you partner in the agreement gets some (and the other way around).
An intelligence alliance is when you and your partner share produced spies.
Trade Pacts are obviously, for two countries who want to trade.
Normally, alliances are only made in research and offense. However, it is not uncommon that a country has one or two alliances in the other types.
In order to gain more networth (the thing that determines your rank) you must gain more land, by going to "Explore". When you can only get 15 or less acres per turn you will need to land grab. Be sure to build your army up because you will be attacking other people. Be sure to build you spy network up (through a strong industry and teching "intelligence") because you will need to research prospective countries for attacking. First, go to "search" and type in random numbers. When you find a country which is much weaker than you and not under protection (indicated by a green name) then go to "War Room" and type in that country's name/number. Choose "standard attack" as your type of attack. Attack strategy should be "aggressive". Send about half of your military and select "prepare attack".
As you play more and interact with different people, you will find more and better ways to play. Remember, this is just something to get you started!
