Tape Trading Guidelines
First off, I have to say hello to Vernon and all the
posters over on the
WVSports.com Message Board. You guys are the best...
These are just a few guidelines if you'd like to work out a
trade:
- I NEVER sell games! Those stupid copyright laws
prohibit me from selling games. If you don't have any games to trade, read a
little further down the list and we can work something out. If I sell and get
caught, I get fined but worse yet they'll confiscate my collection...and I
just won't let that happen! Not worth the risk.
- Tape ONLY on the SP or LP speed. SLP copies just
don't have good enough quality to bother with. If you have to use two tapes
for a game so be it.
- I always copy YOUR football games on LP and basketball
games on SP (unless otherwise requested).
- No low grade tapes. I prefer Sony Premium or Maxell
Silver or Gold.
- If there is one thing I hate more than anything in
trading it's edited huddles and/or edited breaks in action. It ruins the game.
I want a full unedited game tape, although I have no problem with editing out
commercials (I do that myself).
- If you don't have any games to trade, I'll trade for
blanks. I'll trade one game tape for either a 3-pack of Sony T-160's, a 2 pack of
Sony T-180's or T-200's, or a 5 Sony Premium T-120's. If you can get the
T-180's or T-200's please do those, because I have no access to those in my
area.
- When you send out, send Priority Mail. It's quite cheap
and it's the best overall method, which is why I use it myself.
- Be honest about the quality of the games. If it has
flaws, tell me before you send so I can pick another game if I want to. It's
just better than being surprised when they get here and ruining the rapport
between traders.
- Do NOT "trade" with Ledford Thomas unless you feel like
donating to his collection while getting nothing in return. His rep is shot in
the trading community because of such actions. Be warned.
