Free Form - Big Leaf Maple Burl

A fine example of natures sculpturing and a little tool time on the lathe.

Semi-closed vessel: Redwood Burl

Lighter then it looks, this burl provides a small sample of the beauty of one of natures tallest and oldest natual resourses.

Bowl:Apple Wood

Left at 1/2 of inch thick, the form compliments the various colors and rough edge texture.

Gum Burl Wood

Wood from down under, this bowl while kiln dried, showed unexpected movement after turning.

Spalted Birch

Measuring 4"x8" this spalted birch bowl is turned to 3/16 of an inch. With a little imagination, one can see a butterfly in the center of the bowl.
