Members and Friends of the Social Gathering
A - J
This page goes out to all of those people that help me in the tireless effort of forming social gatherings. They are the ones at the skating rinks, bowling alleys, my couch watching movies and shoving eachother off, playing truth or dare around bonfires, stalking Leo look-alikes at church camp... but mainly, they are the ones I can talk to about anything. Where would I be without them? Who knows. We'd have a pretty small group web page though! I don't have everyone's pictures yet, so you'll just have bear with me for now! Someday...
ADAM being "seductive"
Well, Adam and I have an interesting history. I started out thinking his name was Bob for three months. Then we struggled through the terrors of Flag football together in MR. BARNES'S gym class. Now we're obscene and give Miss Bannister grief all day long in English. Adam's specialty is party DJ, as portrayed in his picture!
ADRIENNE
I think I met Adrienne in the 5th grade at our community art class. Actually, we were introduced when her Mom kissed me on the cheek for no aparant reason. After that, I started harassing her as much as possible. :) We ended up going to the same church for a couple years, and her Dad was the preacher. ( The best preacher ever, by the way. ) She is the one who got me hooked on the best week of our lives, SYC. Sadly, HER DAD got a job in Columbus, and ripped her away from the group. ( I still hold it against him to this day! :) Now she lives in Huntington. Not to worry though. Our Summer Youth reunion is in only two and a half months!
ALEX (right), LEVI, (left), & ME (middle).
Alex and Levi are my cousins. We're all MUCH older now, but this is really the only picture I could find with all of us together. Not only are these two my cousins, but they've been like best friends to me ever since I could remember. We've terrorized Disney World together, jumped off a bridge together, and white-water rafted together. The list is basically endless. Unfortuantly, they live in Florida, so my visits are limited to August, and an occasional Spring weekend. Levi writes me almost every week though, so we still keep in touch. I think they really want to be West Virginians deep down! :)
AMANDA & MARK
Amanda and I go back a LONG way! I think our first encounter was in second grade when I stepped on and smashed her glasses! :) As the years went by, pool parties became our favorite past time, considering she had a pool, and lived two houses down from my grandma. Then junior high hit. We drifted for a year or two, and then came back strong in 9th grade. Mrs. Herrick's Honors Science class was the stress that kept us together. Now we volunteer at the hospital together. ( Actually, it's more like creat mahem and as breech of panic among the patients. :) What's even better, she moved, and now I can walk ( or ride the golfcart, ) over to her house whenever the desire strikes. I pretty much tell her everything, and the same goes for her. In this picture, Amanda is posed "seductively," with Mark. Mark and I have a history of paper football in History, and the legendary, "Can you came tonight" every Friday!
ANNALE
Truth Circles have had an interesting effect on our group of friends lately. For obvious reasons, we know a lot more about eachother, but we've also managed to gain a friend from it. Alos known as Deanna's other half, AnnaLe has become an official member of the group. She is the chapstick queeen, giver of cheese balls, and she "IS a dot! She IS a dot!" We often tease her about Adam. She says there's nothing there... but we know the truth. :) Without AnnaLe...well, there wouldn't be a horrible stench, because EVERYONE else takes showers! But really... we love you AnnaLe. Even with your hairy boobs. :)
ANNIKA ( & ME ) AT SYC
This is one of my all-time favorite pictures. First of all, it's my long-time friend Annika, but best of all, I took it. :) I've known Annika since Pre-school, way back in the day when I lived in Morgantown. We made ficticious characters involving talking grapes and high heels, we made our "home in the woods," and now the latest chapter, SYC. Annika was my main partner in crime when it came to stalking the Leo look-alike. And who could forget her SO MODEST remark to Kristen!? "Gee Kristen, I'm so much thinner than you, but I can eat whatever I want!"
CRYSTA & ME
After years of trying, Crysta and I only recently managed to get a decent picture of us together. What can I say about Crysta? She's been there through so many of the memorable parts of my life. Not all of it was good times, but that's what brought us closer together. I mean, where would we be without 8th grade? I only met Crysta two and a half years ago, but it seems like so much longer. Ski trips, jazz festivals and lack there of, church camp, snowball fights, bowling, pool parties ( but we won't get into that, ) football games, golfcart rides, Applebee's, end of school disasters... you name it, we've been there. "What? Is that gum in your drink Jesse?" "Rainbow trout!", "Who wears a bra to bed?", "It should have been you on the cross! It should have been you being beaten and burning in hell!"
DANIEL
I'm just now getting to know Daniel. My first impression of Daniel was on the first day of Marching Band, when that new trombone kid had to play for Mr. Thomas. Months later, he's finally coming around and entering the group. As a bloody Alexander Hamilton, he recently appeared at my costume Halloween party. He's a pretty cool guy, and I think we'll be great friends... despite the fact that he hits on my girlfriend! Daniel, you know you think she's a "sex magnet".
JENNIFER
"Hello?"
".................."
"Hi Jenn."
These are the first words spoken almost everytime that I talk to Jennifer on the phone. Can you tell what kind of friends I have? :) Let's see here. I think that I met Jenn first out of all my Parkersburg friends. We had just moved into our house, when down they started building theirs. In the second grade, we were going to get married. In the seventh grade, we were drenched at Kennywood. In the 9th grade, we suffered through Point of View before the prom. "Please be civilized!" And now, eight years after meeting her, we're still hitting new territory. Last Easter I think it was her who warned me not to sit in the File cabinet, but I did it anyways. :) Of course, we've moved on to bigger things in life. We have a mutual goal now, and someday, we will accomplish it. We want to.... knock, down.... the ho pin.
JESSE
"Is that a fat joke?", "Why Don't I just kill myself now, because I'm just going to die someday anyway!", and, "You see Luke, to be a real man, you have to have tatoos like THAT GUY OVER THERE!", are just some of the classic and profound quotes from Jesse. Jesse and I have had quite the history. I think that French II class this year tops it all though! :) There was a time when Jesse didn't care for me much though. During church camp, he was stuck being my roommate. I actually feel kind of bad for him. See, I couldn't get to sleep... so I just kept him up with me! Although, putting gum in his drink might rank up there as well...
JONNA
"Swing dance? We don't know anything about swing dancing!" So... we decided to form our own, Anti-Social group. This is where I first really got to know Jonna, as we snuck around the house, shook Velden's car, and eavesdropped on our friends at one of our many social gatherings. I knew Jonna before that. She went to my church, and was faced with the question, "Is there sex in heaven?" Now Jonna is a full-fledged member of the group. She is rememberd best for her 15th birthday party, where mosh pits, and the chanting of Cher was highly popular. "Jonna? What's that yellow dot for? Oh! It's because your handicapped!!!"
