Yes, suicide. It's not an easy thing to understand or cope with. Suicide is a very painful thing, for everyone involved. But, on this page, I will be talking mostly about teen suicides.
It is tragic, sad, and unfortunate. Tragic because of all the things the deceased will never experience, since they died so young. It is sad because it tears away at the souls of the living. It causes them agony that, perhaps, the deceased did not think of when he / she was alive. It is unfortunate because it it not something that we can fix. We cannot bring that dead person back to life, in neither a literal nor symbolic sense; the dead body is, well, dead (and occasionally unidentifiable) and the heart of the individual must have been dead or they wouldn't have committed suicide.
Whether you are someone on the verge of committing suicide or whether you are the loved one of someone who has already committed suicide, know that I extend my hand and heart out to you. Know that I, if not anyone else, cares about you. I am here, ready and willing to talk about anything and everything you have to say. I do listen and offer all I can. Since, I myself am a surviving suicide attempter. I have attempted suicide more that once, so I know the pain and the scarring influence it has.
For those of you who are contemplating suicide, I have to ask you to just take a moment and go to this Website. Read through it and then come back, if you wish to. Be certain that I am not here to tell you to stay alive, I mean, who am I to tell you what to do? I am not here to say that you are going to Hell (if you've visited the other half of my website, there's a pretty obvious reason why there :) ).
If you feel that you may commit suicide, and do not want to (although, I would give this advice to all suicidal persons) remove all items from the area that you could find a way to kill yourself with. This list includes the obvious ones (knives, drugs, rope, bags, and cars), but also pens, geometry set items, hard boxes, glass, and mirrors. I also would also give the same list except for self-mutilation that may end in death; including lighters (or other items that can cause a flame), knives, etc.
I will then ask you to assess your current situation. Are you about to use a permanent solution to a temporary problem? Are you just in a horrible mood? Are you completely, 100% sure this is what you want to do? Is there any other way to solve the problem you are faced with? Please, don't kill yourself if you don't have to. You may not realize it, but there are a lot of people who care about you deeply. Also, there are a lot of things you haven't done yet. If you want to, you can read my Personal Story if you want to. If you are afraid you'll kill yourself, and you don't want to, try to stay away from morbid or otherwise dark themes. These will only get you into a worse mood.
If you are a loved one (that includes family, friends, significant others, etc.) of someone that is contemplating suicide, please, talk to them. Do not talk down to them. Do not tell them they are wrong, bad, or evil for thinking about this. Do not push them away, freaked out. All you have to do is listen to them. They, most likely, will have some serious problem going on in their life that they need to get off their chest. You just have to be there to listen; sitting there spacing out does not count, by the way, that only aggravates suicidal people. Well, it aggravated me anyway.
I'll bet that was a lot of reading, wasn't it? I applaud you for reading it all, it was quite a bit. For the suicidal person, or one who may become suicidal, if you cannot find within these pages some help, try to seek it elsewhere. Do not just give up on finding help. There is help out there that you can find. If not in me, then in someone else. :)
Find some information about suicide within these pages, whether to help yourself or to help another. And please contact me. I would love to hear from suicidal people who just need someone to talk to. I have not been where you are exactly, but I have been violently suicidal in the past over a period of eight years, and have made a few suicide attempts. But please do not mistake me for a medical professional. I am not here to diagnose you; all the information here, besides the personal stuff, has been collected and interpreted from hundreds of books, some good and some bad.
