Minutes of church 1823-1849…

This church was composed originally of thirty four members, dismissed for this purpose from the Church of Brush Run Washington Co. Pa. Then a member of the Redstone Baptist Association; some from the Regular Baptist Church on Cross Creek, Brooke County, VA. And a few others, to wit:

  • All these, having been immersed into Christ, assuming the New Testament as their only rule of faith and practice, united together "in one Lord, one faith one immersion and discarding all creeds and confessions of the faith except the above were accustomed to meet for worship and godly edification in the Brick meeting house in the upper part of the town of Wellsburg, there known by the name of Charlestown.
