The Heated Exchange

Written on: January 19, 2003

Well fans of EXT, I’m back again for this month’s segment of “The Heat Exchange”. This month I hope the column lives up to it’s name cause I am going to say what has been on my mind about All Out War. This may piss a lot of people off but damnit it’s time for someone to shed light onto the subject.

First off, let’s start by looking at the state All Out War is in now. Huh, it’s not looking as strong as it was back in September to December. Why you ask? Well let’s start with storylines. In fact this whole column is going to be on storyline and development.

Storylines are the key to a good weekly program. Sadly to say AOW has fallen for the same old stuff played out in BPW (Backyard Powerhouse Wrestling) one, too many times now. Krawler vs. Gorebash feud has been going on for about a year and four months now. Sure you could say they had a few breaks in between there but it’s still the same old match. Just more underrated then my million matches against Lostsoul. You just need to learn when to stop. Sure I still say the HBL/Moe feud was great because it was very entertaining and original. Could Gorebash and Krawler add more entertainment value to their setup of the big showdown, I might want to see the match. Same goes for the Underdog/Tec-9 stuff. Give the little guy a push and kill off the damn wigger. It kills me to watch the little guy now. Underdog could stand tall if you put him past the crap, like Loco and Doctor BS.

You have so much talent but fail to look at the big picture here. Krawler in you main guy because he grabs your attention and has a high shock value. Lately his stock has been falling but let him express himself more, his idea may just gain you some more fan support. Take Moe Dix, the guy is just downright shocking and unpredictable. That is why he is still so popular. Also Shane could throw down some pretty strong raps during promos. In Hicktown, USA he will become one of the most hated heels in AOW. So take my advice, Shane w/ rap gimmick equals a whole new set of storylines in the warlord division.

Lostsoul, you blew it. Your face turn was the perfect time to show the other side of yourself. You instead drown in self pity because you were to sorry to realize it, or you were scare out of your mind trying to be a face. Either way, you now have no choice but to reinvent yourself. Another strong heel run may come with the new look and fresh style.

WAR is also getting stale and bland. Diablo needs to learn to be a main player you better learn the art of promos. Beast should of been a breakout star, but was held back too much, more so by the ring not being able to support him. That just really sucks.

HBL having the ball at the beginning of AOW was a nice change in pace. It was nice to see someone new in the upper ranks. I must ask, Where the hell is he at now? Well gladly in the Berzerker division. He might just be the strong face needed to give the Berzerker title a better worth then it has. He is another guy who could use a little tweaking and peaking to become a stronger performer.

I really miss Nate Dogg. He was the strongest promo man in the business. When Hugh Jass returns with him at his side they will be hard to contend with. That may well be a small spark in the darken time of AOW now.

I have to comment on this most of all. Overdose/Extremist feud should have been place in effect as soon as both were there. That would have been a very entertaining match, for everyone to have see. Miss spots like that don’t help the company. If you look at it like this, both are part time wrestler, and could have match up well against each other, but trying to push WAR came first and with Bobby War gone, everything fell flat on it’s face. We may never know how good it could have been, but many will wonder for years.

Let’s see now, by the end of the year your top heel (Krawler) will be gone, so who the hell is going to step up to the plate. I know we can’t count on a guy like Lostsoul, who have proven his inner demons eat him away. HBL, needs to keep with the Berzerker division, I’d give top honors to Gorebash or Shane Neal. Should be fun to watch, if they focus on giving wrestling fans what they want. All Out War, just needs to stop focusing on where they are now, but it needs to look towards the future.

The future is the only way All Out War can expect to survive.

That is it for this month, so unti next time this is EXT Out!
