"The Heated Exchange"

Written on: December 22, 2002

I decided if I was going to do my own website, I would write a monthly column in a style I would like. A little crude at times, but totally upfront and in your face. Also if you ever notice the spelling problems and the bad grammer, that to is in my style. I know this may kill some people but I'm going to write about anything and everything I please related and unrelated to wrestling (mostly related) that I want. It might be bad (BPW/TWF feud killing both companies), it might be good (AOW storylines), or it might be downright strange (The entire Crazy family) but it's what I think and have thoughts on.

I really want to praise All Out War (My current stomping grounds) for the way it is sticking to the in-ring, in your face approch to wrestling. Less on promos and comericals, and more on in-ring action and in-ring storylines. While I see some guys looking like a millon bucks in the ring (Lostsoul and Overdose), others have struggled to have many if any good matches (Shane Neal and Hellbound Loser). So what should All Out War do? Maybe tag the guys struggling with one of it's golden children or place them into an epic feud that could turn around an entire downfall. Although this may seem like a good idea, we have not seen it happen yet.

Next, TWF is pulling together one final show (Wild Cards 4: Championship Dreams). This could prove to be TWF's greatest show ever, or their greatest disaster ever. Looking at their talent, most haven't been in the ring in well over six months. This could prove to a flaw overlooked by many. I have seen talent come back and look like a train wreak in the ring (AOW's Lord), then they may feel 110% ready to roll as I did when I returned against Hugh Jass. I remind you my match with Hugh Jass is a match of the year canidate.

The biggest highlights will most likly come in the TWF championship match. It will be a wonderous site to see Green Ninja vs. Prodigy in that match. Only a fitting way for TWF to end. Other matches to await would be a classic 6-man tag team match involving the Triple Team, maybe some old skool Lee Dice and HP Coltrane encounter. Everyone knows Commish Laney will make a noticeable impact.

Let's take a look back on somethings I liked and hated about TWF. Sudden Death was a great concept. The champion was always the final person to come out and you had to be pinned or submit to be elimitated. The only thing that sucked about it was the first five minutes of the match. Instead of having two very entaining wrestlers who could run a good five minutes, they would throw together people like Lostsoul and Jay Profit. The two couldn't work together worth anything, and I would have fell asleep if I was the next entry. Then once I hit, the match still sucked. It only got heated when Prodigy enter last. Just like Sudden Death 3, when Green Ninja started he went agaist KC Roberts. Another main eventer looking less then great against a high-rated midcarder. It once again got intersting when the champion at the time Nate Dogg entered. Sudden Death is a great concept I remind you but the excitment never started until the end.

Then the TWF storylines. This is the selling point to TWF. Very clean and exciting. They seemed to always fit in where or whenever they happened. From the very first show to hopefully the last, I will always praise the way the stories and epic tales went into the battles. Most memorable had to be Laney's war against Nate Dogg. It seemed to be unending as Nate Dogg proved he would never listen or respect Laney. They involved others into side feuds of the long time battle. It even involved the BPW invasion as a side-story of sort. Oddly it is the true and full lengh story that made each and every TWF stroy so great. So far TWF is unmatched in any aspect of great long lengh storylines.

So will I make it to TWF's Wild Cards 4? Most likly not. I am not going to involve myself in a part of history I do not feel I should interact with. A legend to great is best left for TWF only talent to be involved in even if I did rank as the #9 heel in TWF's long history. Don't get me wrong, if Laney were to throw me into a match I like, well then TWF and I might have one final run-in.

I know this column pretty much is about TWF this month, but hey I'll give respect where respect is due. I'll write more sometime next month, but that's all for now.
