RULES
OF THE UNDERGROUND
THE
UNDERGROUND HISTORY
The Under Ground history of North Eastern Pennsylvania is a rather
odd of young, hungry wrestling hopefuls who would secretly meet
in warehouses or music clubs of North Eastern PA and do battle in
front of crowds of dozens friends and family. The Underground circuit
was dangerous and injury-ladden, prompting an Athletic Commission
shut down of all activities early on in 2002.
Heavily influenced by breakout independent company, ECW, the underground
wrestlers used tables, chairs, fire, and barbed wire to wear down
and mutilate their opponents, creating a sinister blend of hardcore
with the high flying that was popular among many wrestlers.
When the Underground scene was finally laid out by the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Commission for its illegal acts of organized violence
earlier this year, many wrestlers flocked to World Star Wrestling
to continue their careers the right way and brought their brutal
and intruiging ways with them..
THE
DIFFERENCE
The difference between the Underground Wrestlers and the World Star
Veterans are noticeable when it comes to the matches. The Under
Ground crew like the throw the rules out of the window and tend
to be a bit more ornate and aggressive in the ring as opposed to
the intelligent and powerful wrestlers before them.
THE
COMPROMISE
WSW saw that the two separate styles would clash and create far
too much conflict in the WSW locker room. To accommodate everyone,
WSW has decided to establish a separate division and title for the
former Under Ground stars until they can proove that they are ready
to stand toe to toe with the veteran stars of World Star Wrestling.
THE
RULES
As with all wrestling and all sports, the Under Ground division
will be governed by a series of rules. Below are a list of major
rules.
1.
All wrestlers must undergo or have undergone a complete training
course.
- This rule is for the safety of all UG wrestlers, WSW, and the
fans. We wish no harm to come to our promotion's reputation. We
wish no harm to come to our wrestlers that could be avoided by learning
to do things the right way. We wish no harm to come to our fans
due to the recklessness of the wrestlers.
2.
All matches are subject to a referee's discretion.
- If a match spills to the outside, there is no set time limit that
the wrestlers must abide by to return to the ring, it is the wrestlers'
responsibility to keep the action in the ring. If the Referee feels
that the wrestlers are not trying to keep the majority of the action
in the ring, he may call for a count out.
- The wrestlers are allowed to use foreign objects but are expected
to primarily wrestle. If a competitor, or both competitors choose
to not wrestle and only use weapons, it is the Referee's Discretion
to end the match and disqualify one, or both opponents.
- The Referee may choose to throw in the towel for any competitor
if he feels that the competitor may no longer continue and award
his opponent a knock out victory. If such a victory occurs, the
losing opponent is entitled to call for a rematch on the following
event.
3.
Sportsmanship Rules
- All matches are to begin and end with a handshake. All Under Ground
wrestlers are to respect the sportsmanship of their opponents and
the wrestling business. They are to realize that they are not out
to prove any point other than that they deserve to be called professional
wrestlers and professional athletes.
- Chokes, eye gouges, hair pulling, and low blows are grounds for
immediate disqualification at the discretion at the referee. Those
actions are not seen as sportsmanlike and WSW's UG division holds
a 1-warning, no tolerance policy.
4.
Under Ground Title
- The Under Ground Title is the symbol of Sportsmanship, Hard work,
and survival. The championship committee awards competitors title
shots on the virtues by which the Under Ground division was created.
It is a reward and symbol to honor the must sportsmanlike competitors
and to provide incentive to abide by the rules.
5.
No Discrimination
- The WSW Under Ground division is NOT limited to only those who
have a history in the NEPA Under Ground. The WSW Under Ground Division
is open to any competitor who feels that he or she could seriously
compete in the highly brutal division and honor the laws and sportsmanship
of the NEPA Under Ground Legacy.
