WSW
CONFIDENTIAL Q & A ......
MATT
SKILLZ
1.
What made you decide to become a professional wrestler?
I've been a fan of professional wrestling ever since I was 4 years
old, and the idea just grew on me, the match that definitely made
me want to become a pro wrestler was Hogan vs. Warrior at WM6 I
was AMAZED. As soon as I heard a school opening up in my area I
made the call.
2.
Describe yourself for someone who has never seen you before.
"Silent but Violent", a former high school wrestler turned
pro. A guy who loves to bring back the amateur holds into this matches
today. Known for being a very skilled technical wrestler, as he
knows a vast array of submissions.
3.
What style of wrestler would you consider yourself?
Technical Submission Style
4.
Where did you train at and who with?
I trained in Hanover, PA with "Mighty" Quinn Nash
5.
What was it like training with Quinn Nash and AAWF?
Though it is hard work, Nash makes it a lot of fun. Myself and the
other students really picked the stuff up quick which is thanks
to Quinn and the other guest trainers,
6.
How did you find out about World Star Wrestling?
I first heard about World Star by way of their show at Woody's Night
Club in New Oxford, PA, and then got ahold of then ring announcer
Scuba. Which eventually led to me becoming affiliated with WSW by
way of the AAWF.
7.
Do you feel that there is a difference between WSW and AAWF wrestlers?
No they all really mixed well in the locker room, I enjoyed meeting
each and everyone of them.
8.
Who are some of your biggest influences in the ring?
Wow, so many to name, so little space, Of course Hulk Hogan, Bret
Hart, Shawn Michaels for starters, but now I must say independent
stars like Low Ki, Christopher Daniels, The Backseat Boyz, and Xavier
are keeping me very interested in the sport.
9.
You said that guys like Low Ki, Xavier, and Chris Daniels are some
influences of yours. Do you try to emulate their styles in the ring?
Definitely, I love studying hours and hour of their footage picking
up new moves or submissions. I'd like to start working in some submissions
like the dragon sleeper and other things you don't see too much
of in the ring anymore.
10.
Do you think that WWE's new style of "Ruthless Aggression"
is a style adopted from the current independent trends?
Definitely, the independents are shaping the WWE without a doubt.
11.
Do you feel that there is a big change in the size of wrestlers
nowadays? Is wrestling becoming a sport of the little man?
I love to watch high flying wrestling, but the sport still needs
it's big men to make a dominating champion.
12.
What is your favorite match that you were involved in?
Myself vs. Zack Carlucci on June 22nd at the AAWF show in Hanover.
Humorous opening that the crowd was into, and a nice finish with
of course, everyone's favorite technical wrestler winning after
hitting his patented "License to Skill"
13.
What is your favorite part of World Star Wrestling?
The fans, they are so great, especially the ones in Hanover. You
guys make it so much fun for us, thank you.
14.
What is your goal in professional wrestling?
To be the absolute best I can be in the ring and prove to everyone
in the world, that I am one of the top technical wrestlers in the
sport today. I'd love to take a tour of Japan, that would be a dream
come true.
15.
Do you have any last comments to make?
"I didn't come to the AAWF/WSW to sing, I didn't come here
to dance, I came here to wrestle and when it comes to wrestling
no one does it better than yours truly, and I'm going to make believers
out of each and every one of you in the very near future."
