WSW CONFIDENTIAL SPOTLIGHT......
IB GREEN

Always the center of attention, a young IB Green knew that he was destined to be an entertainer at any cost.

"I have always needed to be in the spotlight. It was either this or become a rock star, and I can't sing," said Green in a recent interview with WSW Confidential reporter Kelly Richards.

One of the crowd favorites, IB Green is humble and polite, kind and caring, and knows where his bread and butter lies -- the fans.

"Egos don't belong in wrestling. I'm here for the fans. Because if it was not for the fans, I would not be who I am today."

Green was given his first opportunity to get involved in professional wrestling after meeting Don Adams at a USWF event in upstate New York.

Bob Bailey, USWF owner, opened up a training facility and Adams introduced Green to him. Shortly thereafter, Green found himself enrolled in a training program for the light heavyweight division. At the facility, he trained along side of Don Adams, BP Chill, and former ECW star, HC Loc.

While training, he met Kevin Olmstead, who came up with the IB Green gimmick. IB picked up the ball and ran with it after Olmstead decided to hang up the boots.

IB's first big break was at New Millenium Wrestling before it folded and the he changed over to Penn York Wrestling.

"(My first) match ever was against Oman Tortuga. They call him the Out Cast Killer. I was so nervous. I mean this guy is a great wrestler. I had on heavy clothes, (and) was not booked but someone did not show and they needed a wrestler. So there I was. I ended up throwing up right after the match. Luckily it wasn't during."

"You have to understand Oman was very experienced, and I had not yet learned how to breathe properly, and was a little heavier in the weight a year ago. He is a lightweight. and went very fast. It was hard keeping up. But you live and learn I guess."

Some of IB's most memorable moments have come from NMW.

"(I was) wrestling in a Hardcore Hell match for NMW Jan. 26, 2002. There were 5 guys all at once going at it Hard Core. This guy, Crusher, ran me into the ring post and I really did not have enough time to think to block some of the shot and took it fully on the face. Then he took one of those pitchers that you get beer in at the bar....you know those hard plastic ones that are thick and don't break!!!! Well he ran that into my head, and it didn't break so he said what the hell, let's do it again... and hit me again, by this time I was seeing stars. Went away from that match with a broken nose and a concussion."

While in NMW, he met one of his biggest influences -- Chip Stetson.

"I first met Chip through Bob. He also went to his school along with Big Papa Chill. However, he went on with it while I went on hiatus for a while. I met back up with him about 2 years ago in NMW in Webster, NY. Chip has a great mind for wrestling. Not only is he a great wrestler, he can come up with a match in minutes in his head. If someone is having a problem with gimmick, or coming up with moves, he is right there with suggestions.....great ones at that. He is so over with the crowd right now with his own gimmick. He is just a great person for this business."

Throughout his time in NMW, he had grown a reputation as a fan favorite mascot of fun. some even began to call him the Clown Prince for his crazy unorthodox wrestling style and his humorous approach to wrestling.

Described as a hybrid between Doink the Clown and Jeff Hardy, IB continued to impress promoters and fans alike, gaining him a strong following in up state New York.

In March of 2002, Don Adams introduced IB Green, GQ Blaze, and Kage to the world of WSW.

"It was awesome. The first show I went to was in Macadoo, PA, at the roller rink. Great idea, great setup. the ligh show was a great idea. I loved it all."

IB especially loves the locker room. "Two words -- No Ego. That's the best, a bunch of guys you can work well with."

Although IB said that he would some day like to wrestle a big name, just once, he takes all challenges and all opponents seriously. "Every match is different, and another new experience."

Recently, IB defeated Ethan Frost to become to the new SPW Underground International Championship. It was his first win, and he was rather excited about it.

IB Green's wife runs his official website -- www.geocities.com/ibgreen2000. There you can learn even more about the Clown Prince and see more photos of him and his friends behind the scenes
