WSW
CONFIDENTIAL SPOTLIGHT......
DRAVEN
BLAZE
A true WSW fan
would have to be blind, deaf, and dumb not to know who Draven Blaze
is. Draven, an accomplished high flier, has become a staple in World
Star's Super Junior Division and has a huge future as a fan favorite
in WSW.
On July 11,
Draven tied up with "Dead or Alive" Donnie Brass and was
brutally attacked. Donnie continued his relentless assault on Blaze
while whipping Draven's knee and slapping the dreaded figure four
onto it for several minutes, ignoring the referee's command to release
the hold.
WSW Confidential
had a chance to sit down get an insight on just who exactly is Draven
Blaze and where exactly he came from.
A second generation
wrestler, Draven has big shoes to fill. His father, one of the infamous
Dark Patriots and Executioners, had developed a seriously respected
reputation. Wrestling ran throughout the family as Blaze's uncle
was also a regional wrestling star.
"I started
watching wrestling since I could remember, and I admired, and respected
the ability, and courage, to get into a ring, in front of people,
and bash ... each other."
Draven Blaze
came from a rough start. He spent two years under the guidance of
Jesse "Mr EGW" Durning. Draven's debut match fell on his
18th birthday with a shootfight win over "Hell Freezer."
"My body
was beaten. I knew after the match, bleeding, sweating, and hurting,
that this was my life."
Draven is known
to have a suicidal, all-or-nothing attitude. His hardcore bouts
in EGW have been well documented. Many matches were bloody fights,
and some even total ultimate fight style submission fights. Draven
is also a strong advocate of blood fights and ultra violence.
"Blood
and hardcore with me will never pass. Extreme Generation Wrestling,
which was the first fed I worked for, was all about in your face
hardcore action. ... I was always wrestling, and always will wrestle,
the way you see me. High flying, hardcore, crazy, and fun."
Jesse Durning
introduced Draven to Johnny Glitter and WSW at the April runs of
MacAdoo and Moosic. EGW had slipped out of active competition and
Mr Durning, who eventually landed a job on the WSW Staff as WSW
Title Committee Chairman, made sure to take care of Draven's career.
"I talked
to Johnny Glitter at McAdoo, and he told me when I want to work
for him, to let him know. My first match with WSW was so exciting
to me that I was a part of WSW for life."
Draven's third
match for WSW occurred at the WSW: Camp Dost event in Millville
on July 11. Draven was brutally attacked and was sent to the hospital
for surgery. He has been temporarily benched from active duty. While
he is waiting, he will be scouting out his fellow competitors in
the Super Juniors division, as well as the new trainees to be inducted
into Glitter's secret new division.
Most importantly,
Draven will be keeping his eyes on Donnie Brass, and waiting for
a chance at revenge.
"I feel
Donnie Brass is just an immature little boy that can't get his head
on straight. I won't press any charges, because I don't do that
sorta stuff. I was attacked by Donnie Brass because I was going
against him for that match. If it was someone else, they would have
gotten the same thing. One thing is for sure, he'd better wise up
because when I come back, I'm hunting for a cowboy. He's in a ring
of fire when I come back."
Draven also
has a sour taste in his mouth about some of our other competitors,
including one standout WSW newcomer, the massive KAGE, who has managed
to pick a fight with almost every member of the WSW locker room.
"All he
does is complain, so I want to shut him up."
Draven has also
expressed interest in partaking in a friendly competitive match
against fellow standout Super Junior Division star, SHOOTER SHAWN
SHERIDAN; as well as a friendly match with a partner of his choice
against the Hardcore Mafia.
His surgery
could be a big factor in his future. If therapy goes well, he could
be back in action for the September or October events. If things
were to wrong, he could never come back.
"At first
it scared the living hell out of me, but then after I got the surgery,
I felt like I am going to come back. The doc said there is a chance
my wrestling shoes will never go on my feet again, but I have confidence,
and hope to hear from fans, and wrestling friends. I will be better
than before, and I will be on top."
Draven is yet
another happy member of the WSW roster. Among his favorite parts
of the locker room is the fact that a majority of guys actually
want to be there and respect each other, whether they like each
other or not.
"I have
tremendous amounts of respect for WSW. The thrill of being part
of something so great like WSW, and being able to entertain all
sorts of wrestling fans, of all ages. I'm WSW untill they don't
want me (any) more."
The million
dollar question -- is wrestling worth it for him?
"I have
NEVER regret any of my wrestling decisions. I don't regret it at
all. I love it. Wrestling is my dream and if I can't wrestle again,
I will still be part of the show. "
