Rules

·                      The Vanguard will accept only ALL original wrestlers.

·                     An application must be filled out in FULL to even be considered for a spot on the Vanguard roster.

·                     Once you complete the application, you will be sent a "contract" via email. If you reply to this email, you essentially "signed" the contract. You will then be added to the roster, and expected to cut promos when you are booked. Not appearing on the boards after "signing" with the Vanguard will result in your release (unless you have contacted us explaining your absence). All contracts with the Vanguard are open ended. You may leave when ever you wish, and there are no regulations on appearing in other federations.

·                     If you fill out an application to the Vanguard, and don't recieve a "contract" email, don't be surprised. We will accept only the best apps. We plan on producing results for only the most DEDICATED efedders.

·                     Success in the Vanguard is definitely based on participation. We call our method of rankings "Push". It's fairly simple. A win garners you 2 push points. A draw or no decision gets you 1 point. If you lose a match, you lose 1 push point. There are several other ways of earning push, and these are via storyline, feuds, and "over". These points are awarded by the staff, when we see certain events unfold in our storyline via angles submitted by you, the handler. If you don't know what an angle is, you have no business in the Vanguard, rest assured. The storyline points will be given when the staff feels that you have submitted, and enacted an angle that you sent to us via email. Not all angles are used, but we try our hardest to incorporate the submissions as best we can. Again, not every angle will play out exactly how you submitted it. If we opt not to run an angle, it's usually because it conflicts with another prevbiously submitted angle. Usually storyline points are give as "1" push, but if it's a real zinger, you may be awarded push as high as a "3". Feud points are given when a feud ends (commonly referred to as a "blowoff match" in kay fabe jargon) and both wrestlers gained overness for it. This doesn't mean you have to win the feud, as much as it means the feud went really well, garnered a positive reaction from the crowd, and advanced the popularity of both wrestlers. When you get feud points, you are awarded anywhere beetween 2 and 5 push points. "Over" points are awarded when a wrestler does good in-ring work, in show promos, or angles which result in a real good reaction from the "fans" either positive or negative". These are only awarded 1 point at a time. These points will be awarded to the wrestlers the day after the show.

·                      This is our standard to determine the rankings, as well as the title picture. The title shots are awarded to those who work the hardest. The prerequisites are as follows: To get a shot at...The Rising Valor (lowcard belt): 2 wins...tag titles: either two wins per person, or two wins as a team...Extreme Championship: At least 4 wins...World Championship: at least 7 wins.

·                     Handlers may control no more than ONE wrestler at a time. You may drop whatever character you handle whenever you like, but when you do so, your "Push" goes to zero. See the rules for push above.

·                     Promos are to be cut on the Promo Board. Out of character comments are to be placed on the OOC board. If you place an OOC message on the Promo Board, you will be warned. If you continue to make this mistake, you may be terminated. We have another forum (Real Time Wrestling) where we discuss the happenings of sports entertainment.

·                     When on the promo boards, do not use any racial, homophobic, mysoginistic, or personal attacks. Of course, this rule may be bent "in character", but we do not encourage it. If you use any of this on the OOC board, expect a long walk off a short cliff here in the Vanguard. If you MUST curse in your Promos, please "bleep" it (use asterix in place of letters, we'll get the point, I'm sure).

·                     If you choose to leave a link to your promo on an outside web page, that is fine. We not only condone it, we encourage it. Outside pages look nicer when done right, and also have music (sometimes). We also plan on having links to individual wrestler home pages.

·                     When you are writing a promo, please spell your best, or use spell check. If you don't know how a word is spelled, don't use it. Try a thesaurus or something.

·                     When cutting promos for a show, you may only do 5 per week. This means that you can do 2 promos in the same day if you so choose. This rule is designed for those who do not have a lot of time. This rule is for convenience, however, doing more than 2 promos a day is forbidden, and you will lose points with the staff, as we judge the winner of matches by the CONTENT of your promos. Quantity never beats quality, HOWEVER, a superior effort by your opponent will always result in a loss. If you are not familiar with the rules of efedding, then you don't belong in the Vanguard. It's that simple.

·                     There are no gender or weight restrictions in the Vanguard. Anyone may compete and have success. Just don't expect a 135 lb. woman to powerbomb a 7-7 500 lb giant. We write our results as true to real wrestling as possible.

·                     There will be instances where you desire a match, or maybe even a "run in" on a match. This can be acquired by sending an email to vanguardwrestling@yahoo.com. Not all run ins will be used, but we try our hardest to use everything we get. This helps build storyline, and leads to future matches.

·                     Please do not complain on the OOC boards about a loss. If you are that passionate about knowing why you took the "L", please email a staff member, and we will explain our thinking as best we can. NO ONE will stay undefeated in the Vanguard. That is a fact.

·                     This is an efed. We don't make money off of this, we do it for "the love of the game", and essentially, that is what this is. It's a game. If you understand what it's all about, you'll have fun. Like it said before, if you aren't an experienced efedder, you don't belong in the Vanguard.
