" One Last Chance... " One last chance... that is what Goldberg has been given. After three straight losses, many have said that Goldberg is looking to retire. However, last Thursday on Impact, a huge announcement was made when Mick Foley announced that there would be a Battle Royal for the #1 Contendership to the World Heavyweight title. The participants? Eight of the best superstars to ever step foot in the WIW... Lizzy Borden... Stone Cold Steve Austin.... ‘HBK’ Shawn Michaels... Eugene... The Rock... Sting... Shelton Benjamin... Goldberg. Anyone could win... so will Goldberg be able to beat the other seven superstars, giving him what he wants most... a World Heavyweight title shot? Or will a Battle Royal loss be the deciding factor in Goldberg’s retirement? Can Da Man regain his rightful rematch for the title that he never received? The only thing that is certain is that this Thursday on Impact... history will be made... history will repeat itself...
Scene 1
The scene opens up in Nashville, Tennessee. We are just minutes before Impact kicking off as we see Goldberg in his locker room. Goldberg is sitting down on his bench, elbows on knees, as he thinks to himself. Goldberg looks at the ground but as the camera gets closer, he slowly raises his head up. Goldberg then begins to speak.
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Six months... I have waited six long months. You know, back when I first started out my career... I would have considered six months to be a very short amount of time to wait for a chance at the richest prize in the game. But now that I have had taste of the World Heavyweight Championship, six months is far too long. I will not wait around for another six months to come so I can fight for a shot at the World Heavyweight title. Whether anyone likes it or not, I am going to capitalize on a chance I have been given. I will win the battle royal tonight and I will go on to face Randy Orton this Sunday at the pay-per-view. Day in and day out, I have thought about the World title... at one point, I wasn’t even sure if I would get another shot at it or who I would be facing for it. Well, it’s been decided... Randy Orton.”
Goldberg pauses as he takes a deep breath.
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “But I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I still have to win tonight... I still have to defeat seven of the best superstars in the WIW to date. This will not be an easy victory... but it will be a victory nonetheless. Lizzy, you’ve had your turn with the World title... so step aside and let Da Man take over. Sting, you don’t deserve a turn with the World title... so step back before I knock you back. As far as the rest of my opponents go... get ready... be prepared... ‘cause your in for much more than just a match... this will be a war... in just under ninety minutes, the eight of us will be trapped inside that squared circle until one of us is declared the winner... and that will be me. With that said... there’s only one thing left to say... Sting, Lizzy, Eugene, Rock, Shelton, Shawn, Steve... you all are next...”
Goldberg, not being as aggressive as normal, shows that he is focused. Goldberg gets up as he takes another deep breath. He walks out of the room as the scene fades to black...
