The scene opens up at a press conference in Chicago, Illinois, the location for Xplosion this Monday night. Several tables are set up in the front of a large, white room. There is a large crowd of Chicagons gathered at the press conference to see their favorite superstars talk about Xplosion. Several WWE employees are seen walking around the stage, setting up for the conference. The people begin to quiet down as Harry Pappas, the Allstate Arena Executive director, walks out onto the stage. He holds a couple pieces of paper in his hands as he sets them on the podium. He adjusts the microphone before speaking...

| ‘Allstate Arena Executive Director’ Harry Pappas | “Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, I would like to thank you for taking time to come on by and attend the WiW’s Xplosion Press Conference. It’s really a pleasure to see all of you here. And with that said... and without further ado, I give to you the WiW Co-Owner... Shane McMahon!”

The crowd begins to boo as “Here Comes the Money” hits. Shane McMahon walks out from a side door, a slight smirk on his face. He walks up to the podium as Harry and him shake hands. Harry then walks off the stage as Shane waits for the booing to die down before talking.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Shane McMahon | “Thank you for that great reception. I always love to come to Chicago.”

Shane pauses as the fans begin to boo again. It is quite apparent that Shane is being sarcastic.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Shane McMahon | “I know Chicago isn’t use to champions...”

The crowd continues to boo. A guy yells out ‘You Suck’ to Shane. Shane just simply ignores the audience and continues.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Shane McMahon | “As I was saying, I know Chicago isn’t use to champions... and that’s the truth. Since when have the Bears won the Super Bowl? Actually, when have the Bears even won their division? So you Chicagons will certainly be pleased to know that this Monday night on Xplosion, the Intercontinental Championship will be defended!”

The crowd cheers, the first cheers of the conference.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Shane McMahon | “And...”

Suddenly, Shane is interrupted by “All Grown Up”. Shane looks irritated as Stephanie walks out to a huge ovation from Chicago. She smiles at Shane as Shane walks off the stage. Stephanie walks up to the podium and starts to speak. Meanwhile, the fans have started a chant for Shane.

NA! NA! NA! NA! NA! NA! NA! NA! HEY! HEY! HEY! GOODBYE!

Stephanie laughs before starting to talk.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Stephanie McMahon | “Sorry, Shane. But somebody had to get you out of here!”

The crowd cheers again.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Stephanie McMahon | “But the real reason I am out here is to announce that this Monday night, not only will the Intercontinental title be defended, but my body guard, Test, will be taking on the Franchise, Shane Douglas!”

The crowd erupts into cheers again.

| ‘WiW Co-Owner’ Stephanie McMahon | “And I am confident that Test will be the one to finally end Douglas’ infamous undefeated streak! But I am not the one who should be talking about Xplosion. So I give to you, the Xplosion General Manager... Paul Heyman!”

A mixed reaction is given as Paul Heyman’s theme hits. Several people boo because Stephanie leaves the stage. Paul walks out and steps onto the stage. He stops and looks out into the crowd before walking to the podium.

| ‘WiW Xplosion GM’ Paul Heyman | “Thanks, Steph. You see, this Monday night I am giving Chicago exactly what it wants... and that is a night to remember! I have booked huge matches all night long. Not only will the Intercontinental title be defended... and not only will Test take on Shane Douglas... but also, we will have the contract signing for the World Heavyweight Championship match at Halloween Massacre! Both the number one contender, Randy Orton, and the World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels, will be here live to agree on the terms of their match.”

The crowd cheers for the huge contract signing.

| ‘WiW Xplosion GM’ Paul Heyman | “And lastly, but certainly not least, we will have the first intergender steel cage match in WiW history when Chris Jericho and Sable take on Gail Kim and Kurt Angle. I know for a fact that Kurt Angle is ready for this match.”

Paul briefly pauses before continuing.

| ‘WiW Xplosion GM’ Paul Heyman | “But, as announced earlier, the main event will be Goldberg defending his Intercontinental Championship against Booker T in a Lumberjack match! And the lumberjacks? The lumberjacks will be none other than Raven and Test! And now, here to answer questions, I give to you the Intercontinental Champion, Goldberg!”

Goldberg’s music thunders throughout the conference room as the fans get on their feet. The fans cheer so much, the roof seems as if it could blow off at any second. A GOLDBERG chant is started as Goldberg himself walks out with the Intercontinental title lain over his shoulder. He nods his head, impressed about the large ovation he is receiving. He then walks on the stage and raises one arm into the air, saluting the fans. Paul extends his hand, but Goldberg simply ignores him as he adjusts the microphone. Paul nods his head as he turns and walks away.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “This Monday night, I will have to defend my Intercontinental title against a man by the name of Booker T. But it just won’t be a simple one-on-one singles match... heh, that would be too easy. So instead, the match is turned into a lumberjack match with the lumberjacks being Raven and Test. So what do I think about this? Well, all I have to say is... it’s fine by me.”

Goldberg stops as several hands raise into the air... fans with questions. Goldberg points to a twenty-some year old near the front row.

| ‘WIW Fan’ Greg | “My question is what do you think about Booker T as an athlete?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “What do I think about Booker T as an athlete... well, Booker T is a very skilled athlete. It’s no secret that he is a five time WCW champion. But every time I am glad that he is willing to bring up WCW so often. Heh, ‘cause let me tell you what I remember about WCW. I remember me kicking Booker T’s ass in every one of our matches and I remember getting the victory each and every single time. Booker might be a five time WCW champion... but in WCW, I was 176-0. I was undefeated and on top of the wrestling world. Booker T as an athlete is great... but when he continuously has to remind us that he was a five time WCW champion, it’s obvious that that is the only thing he has accomplished. So he needs to keep reminding himself what he did about five years ago. Next question...”

Another fan raises his hand as Goldberg nods in his direction.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “You in the blue t-shirt.”

The fan looks down to see if he is wearing a blue t-shirt. When he realizes Goldberg is talking to him, he asks his question.

| ‘WIW Fan’ Bernie | “What do you think about the lumberjacks, Test and Raven?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, I am pretty good friends with Test. I trust Test and I am sure he knows not to mess with me. Test, being a member of the Supremacy, is a trusted ally and I hope he remains that way. Test, as all of you know, is Stephanie’s bodyguard so he should be used to fighting people off. And Raven...”

Just as Goldberg stops talking about Test, a hand flies up into the air. Goldberg, a little startled by the anxiety of the fan, briefly stops talking before talking to the fan.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Before I go on about Raven, is there something you would like to say?”

| ‘WIW Fan’ Jeff | “Well, I have a question. You talked about how Test will be a trusted ally for you in this match, but what about his match earlier that night... against the Franchise, Shane Douglas?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, that’s right. I realize Test has a huge challenge standing in his way. Hell, I personally know just how tough of an opponent Douglas really is having fought him quite a few times. But I know that Test is a tremendous athlete as well. Test is always focused at the task at hand, whether it’s taking on the undefeated Shane Douglas... or being a lumberjack in an Intercontinental Championship match. Win, lose, or draw... Test will still be there as a lumberjack.”

| ‘WIW Fan’ Jeff | “Unless of course, Test is Franchised and needs to be rushed to the hospital!”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I don’t see that happening. Anyway, as far as Raven goes, I am not exactly sure what kind of role he will play in this match. I don’t know if he has some kind of allegiance with Booker T or not, but if so, I will take both of their asses out! So Raven, a little word of advice, stay out of my way and you will be just fine. My opponent is Booker T... but Raven can become my opponent if he chooses to be.”

Goldberg points to a young lady in the back.

| ‘WIW Fan’ Abby | “Do you think Booker T is a bigger challenge than John Cena was?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, Booker T will be a big challenge without doubt. But I admit Cena was a challenge, also. Well, I thought at least Cena would have been a challenge. But it turned out that I was able to easily defeat him, sending him straight to where he belongs... the minor league, also known as Massacre. So I guess Booker T will be a bigger challenge than John Cena was... unless of course he suffers the same fate as Cena. Come to think of it, a Massacre transfer might not be too far fetched for the Bookman.”

Goldberg points to a kid in the tenth row. The kid stands up and asks his question.

| ‘WIW Fan’ Herman | “Congratulations on your win against the World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels, last Thursday. How important was that win for you?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “It was very important. Many people backstage have been saying that I lost my power when I lost my World Heavyweight Championship. But now I showed once again, that I am capable of winning it back whenever the opportunity rises. Shawn put up a great fight, but just like at Wrestlemania, I beat him with a Spear and slammed on the exclamation mark with a one...two...three! As far as I’m concerned, that win put me right back in the World Heavyweight title picture. But I will not let the World title interfere with my Intercontinental title. I will continue to defend this title until I can no longer do so... and that time won’t be this Monday on Xplosion. Like I said last Monday night... nobody is ready to become champion.”

An arena worker walks onto the stage and pulls the microphone over to his mouth.

| ‘Allstate Arena Worker’ Phil | “We have time for one more question.”

Goldberg nudges Phil off the stage and moves the microphone back over to himself. Goldberg then points out the guy who gets to ask the last question.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “It’s the last question... it better be good.”

| ‘WIW Fan’ Joe | “My question is... can you dig it?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I said it better be a good question. Can I dig it? Oh, I can dig it. And come Monday night on Xplosion, I will dig it... I will dig a grave that is. And above that grave, there will be a tombstone that simply reads...

THE FIVE-TIME WCW CHAMPION

BOOKER T

... I have been hearing all these interviews with Booker T all week and all I hear Booker T ask is can I dig it. Booker, I will dig, scratch, hit, kick, and beat your ass... in other words, I will do whatever I need to in order to retain my title. I asked for the last question to be a good one... no offense, but that wasn’t a good one. So I will ask the last question... and believe me, it will be a good one. My question is simply... WHO’S NEXT?!”

The fans cheer as Goldberg’s music hits. Goldberg raises his arm in the air once again as several flashes from cameras go off. Goldberg steps off the stage and high-fives a few fans before heading out. The scene fades as the crowd chants for Da Man...
