Forward ~ BACKLASH IS COMING!

Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... the backlash from Wrestlemania will be brutal... everybody has marked a target on one man’s chest... but one thing is for sure, everybody has been marked as NEXT!

Scene 1 ~

The scene opens up in Stamford, Connecticut. A parking lot is seen, however it is unclear what the parking lot is for. A few people are seen walking towards their car as a 1966 Cobra pulls up. The Cobra pulls into a parking space as the door flings open. Out steps the World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg. Goldberg wears black jeans and a cut off black t-shirt. Goldberg shuts the door as he grabs his gym bag from the backseat. Goldberg heads towards the building as we now find out that is the WWE Headquarters.

Goldberg opens the front doors and walks in. He heads towards the reception desk as a very familiar voice rings out.

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Well, look who finally decided to show up!”

Goldberg glances over in Coach’s direction, seeming to be very annoyed.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “What the hell do you want?”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Well, it’s good to see you, too. Anyway, I want... no, I need an exclusive interview with the Champion... you.”

Goldberg takes a deep breath, not very happy.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Fine... but hurry up.”

Coach nods as he heads over to the waiting room. He sits comfortably in a large leather chair as he motions for Goldberg to join him. Goldberg walks over and sits in the couch next to the chair.

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “First of all, where have you been the last couple of weeks?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Why don’t you ask the ass you’ve been kissing? You know damn well that Shane banned from RAW and SMACKDOWN! these past couple of weeks.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “What are you talking about? I had no clue...”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, whatever. Anyway, after Shane McMahon cowardly attacked me and cost me my match against Rey Mysterio, he told me not to show up for a couple of weeks.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “So what are you back for?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, Coach, last Monday Night during RAW, the Board of Directors met and decided to lift my suspension...”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “So you decided to make your presence felt at RAW by spearing the hell right out of Jericho?!”

Goldberg laughs quietly to himself.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Jericho is nothing more than a punk who has gotten everything handed to him because he kisses Shane’s ass. So now he is given a title shot at Backlash... but it makes no difference... he will find out the hard way what it’s like to stand in the way of Da Man!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Like you said, on RAW we found out that Jericho has now been added to the mix at Backlash. It will now be you, Goldberg, versus Chris Jericho versus either Triple H or Shawn Michaels. What do you think about Jericho getting added?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I don’t think it’s fair... Jericho has done nothing to earn that title shot. Yeah, sure, he is a double champion... but he was given the Tag Team Title... and as for that Intercontinental Title... he hardly ever defends it against a real opponent. Shane handpicks who will face Jericho, just to make sure Jericho doesn’t lose the Corporate Alliance’s title. Jericho, you may have Shane McMahon giving you every opportunity... but make no mistake, you won’t have Shane there to help you at Backlash.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “What is your opinion on Shawn Michaels and Triple H? After all, they are fighting to see who will face you at Backlash..”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I don’t really care who wins. I beat them both at Wrestlemania so I will just beat them again. It’s that simple. Triple H and Shawn are both tough opponents, but I proved many times that I can beat them both, so it’s just another match to prove once and for all.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “We have been briefly talking about him... but what do you really think about Shane McMahon?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “He’s my boss... and like most people’s bosses are, he’s an asshole. He certainly proved that a couple of weeks ago when he cost me my match on SMACKDOWN! Shane, do you remember December? That was the very first time you cheated me out of a match. I haven’t forgotten that night... and neither have you. Since that night, there has always been two goals on my mind... to get the World Heavyweight Title and to get YOU! As the days go by, I can tell you realize that your time is coming... you are realizing that I will get my payback... you are realizing that payback really is a bitch!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Well, tomorrow night on SMACKDOWN!, you have your returning match... but it won’t be an easy one. Tomorrow night at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, you will once again be facing the Phenom of the WWE, the Undertaker.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yes, I will be facing the Undertaker again. But this time around is different... why? Because this time around I will have this World Heavyweight Title around my waist when I beat him. Undertaker, you always say that you can’t kill a man that’s already dead... well, just watch me. Thursday Night on SMACKDOWN!, I may not kill you, but I will beat you to one inch of your life. Undertaker, your career as of late has been struggling to say the least. Taker, I will just put you out of your misery and end your legendary career.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “I haven’t seen the Undertaker around lately... so are you going to take it easy on him since he hasn’t trash talked you?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Coach, I say this week in and week out... I take it easy on no one. I will not take it easy on Undertaker no matter what the circumstances are. When you’re standing in the opposite corner when that bell rings, you are my opponent, nothing more and nothing less... when you’re standing in the opposite corner you are NEXT!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “One thing you cannot deny is the Undertaker’s in-ring experience...”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Definitely not. Undertaker knows this business like the back of his hand, perhaps even better. His 12 or 13 years of experience definitely gives him an advantage... or does it? He has a lot of experience but does he have too much? What I am getting at is that the Undertaker is getting old. You can see that little by little he gets a little slower and a little weaker. Time has begun to take its toll on Taker. Soon enough, we will all see the destruction of the Dead Man... and it will be at the hands of Da Man.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Undertaker, I realize how much you’ve accomplished within those 13 years... and quite frankly, I don’t give a damn. ‘Cause lately, you haven’t done a damn thing. So you want to prove yourself... you want to show that you are still that man who walked in to the WWE 13 years ago... well, all you have to do is beat me... is pin me for a three count. That’s it. But that task isn’t so simple, is it? You haven’t been able to do it before... Undertaker, you’ve heard these words before... you know what it feels like... these are the words that have been haunting your dreams... YOU’RE NEXT!!!”

Goldberg gets up and walks away as Coach looks after him...
