Forward ~ The Era of Goldberg is Upon Us...

Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... the backlash from Wrestlemania will be brutal... but one thing is for sure, everybody has been marked as NEXT!

Scene 1 ~ Rey, be prepared cause you’re next!

The scene opens up in what appears to be the lobby of a hotel in San Antonio, Texas. The rotating doors are shown as WWE interviewer Josh Matthews walks through along with a cameraman. Josh walks up to the lobbyist...

| ‘Hotel Lobbyist’ Jennifer | “Can I help you guys?”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Yes, I was wondering if you could look up if someone is staying here...”

| ‘Hotel Lobbyist’ Jennifer | “Sure... what’s their name?”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Bill Goldberg.”

| ‘Hotel Lobbyist’ Jennifer | “OK... just one second.”

The lobbyist types something in the computer and waits. Then she turns back to Josh.

| ‘Hotel Lobbyist’ Jennifer | “Mr. Goldberg is indeed staying here. His room number is E206.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Thanks.”

Josh and the cameraman head for the elevator. They walk in and press level 4. The elevator dings, telling them they’ve reached their destination. Josh and the cameraman get out and look for E206 as they walk down the hallway. Josh stops in front of the room and knocks on the door. Footsteps are heard as the door swings open...

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yes?”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “I was just wondering if I could get an interview with you about your match this Thursday night... I recently interviewed Rey and I got some pretty interesting news...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Is that so? Well, ok.”

Goldberg opens up the door, letting Josh and the cameraman in.

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “First of all, how does it feel to finally accomplish your ultimate goal here in the WWE...?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Josh, it feels great. For such a long time this World Heavyweight title was just dangling above me. I would reach out but I could never get it. But all the time that passed that I was that close, it made me want it even more. It made me realize that I would never stop competing until I achieved this title. That will be one of my greatest moments in my career... the moment when I speared HBK and when I hit my Jackhammer...I knew it right at that moment that it was over. That I had finally done what I came here to do... win the title, proving that I am the best. It seemed like years went by between each count... between each time the referee’s hand slapped the mat...1...2...3!”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Coming off a huge challenge that was your match at Wrestlemania, you now have another big challenge. This Thursday on SMACKDOWN!, you will be competing against Rey Mysterio Jr. What do you think about the match itself?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Like I said in the past, it will be a great match. The fans will get exactly what they came for... a good, close fight. Many people are counting Rey out because of his size... but size isn’t everything. His speed is what makes him equal to everybody else. He can perform high risk maneuvers like nobody else in the WWE. Rey is very quick, but will he be quick enough to dodge the spear? We’ll just have to wait and see...”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Rey Mysterio is probably the closest thing to a friend to you right now in the WWE... how bad is it to face somebody like that?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “At first, I wasn’t too happy. But it got me thinking... this is a business that you shouldn’t have friends. Friends slow you down when you have to watch their backs. I respect Rey as much as he respects me... but I want this match to prove once and for all exactly who is better. Throughout my entire life, there has always been this competitive side of me and now it wants to show that I can and that I will beat Rey Mysterio!”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “In an in the ring promo, Rey said that unmasking himself has changed him...”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, I didn’t think it would. But I saw that promo and he said that now he is different. He said that the new Rey Mysterio will have more attitude and more of a edge. He also said that the whole Mr. Nice Guy approach wasn’t getting him anywhere. Rey, I could care less what your attitude is when I face you one-on-one. All I want to make sure is that you are focused on this match ‘cause I will be.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Rey said that he looked on the roster and you are one of the few people who has not been 619ed... what do you think?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I think... wait, I know that the fact that I haven’t been 619ed will remain that way after this Thursday’s SMACKDOWN!. There’s a reason why I haven’t been 619ed yet, and that reason is that I am Da Man... it’s just that simple. Rey, as I look down the list myself, I see you are one of the few people who have yet to be NEXT... don’t worry, you’re time is coming sooner than you think. This Thursday night on SMACKDOWN!, you will be next!”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Rey said that just because he is five feet four and only one hundred and seventy-five pounds, doesn’t mean anything. He said he has just as much confidence as you... do you think so?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, I am six feet four and two hundred and eighty-three pounds... and yeah, you could say I have a lot of confidence. Looking at a guy like Rey, you wouldn’t think he would have much confidence... I mean I have already heard people say that I will destroy him just because of his size... but yet, Rey has ignored such comments and he keeps his confidence in himself. But Rey, I hate to tell you, but you will need a hell of a lot more than just confidence come SMACKDOWN!”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Rey also said that he won’t give out until his body gives out... Do you feel the same way?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Definitely. I’m never going to give in... I will never stop until I have to stop physically... I will never quit as long as my body is still functioning. That is how it’s been with everything I have ever done. If I’m going to do something, I will do it until it’s done. I’m not going to quit just because it’s hard. The Royal Rumble was hard but I wouldn’t let myself get eliminated... and so I won. Wrestlemania... I had a triple threat match and I had the target on my chest... but did I give in? No. And now I stand here before the world as the new WWE Champion. Like I said, I wasn’t about to give in until I had this title... and now I will never let go of this title. I have worked too hard to get here to just lose it.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “OK... thanks for your time, Goldberg. Good luck against Rey Mysterio on SMACKDOWN!”

Josh gets up and walks out as the camera fades to black...

Scene 2 ~ Reflecting on Wrestlemania...

The next scene opens up in some sort of locker room. Goldberg is seen sitting on the couch, slightly leaning forward. He is watching his TV, which is showing the conclusion to Wrestlemania XX. The TV shows Shawn Michaels hit the Sweet Chin Music on Triple H. Triple H is knocked to the outside as HBK turns around and receives a devastating spear! Goldberg then gets up and signals for the Jackhammer. He hits it and covers HBK. The crowd count along with the referee...1..2...3! The crowd erupts into cheer as Goldberg stands up. The referee hands Goldberg his new title as Goldberg celebrates...

The scene goes back to Goldberg as he picks up the remote and clicks the TV off. He turns around and looks at his World Heavyweight Title, which is strapped around a hook on the locker. A knock is heard at the door as Goldberg gets up and opens it. Coach pokes his head in as Goldberg stares a hole right through him...

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Hey! How about a quick interview?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I’m really not in the mood...”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Oh, come on! It will be quick.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Fine.”

Coach walks in...

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “The other day, Rey said that you are an amazing athlete as well.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “OK... so what’s your question?”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Oh, what do you think about that?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, I have already told you in the past that Rey Mysterio is amazing because of his quickness and his confidence in himself. He is a down to earth guy both in and outside of the ring. He knows that he has worked for everything in his career and he’s proud of it. He’s also proud of his heritage... and he’s proud to be representing the 619. I am also proud of my accomplishments... and many people feel that I am an amazing athlete because of my power and my confidence in myself. So it will be two amazing athletes competing against each other, but only one can walk out as the winner...”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Rey said that you two may have different titles, but he is good enough to compete for any title... I wonder if he was including the Women’s...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I don’t know, but saying that you are good enough and actually being good enough are two different things. Rey is still fairly new in the WWE, so I think he needs to prove himself just a little more before he gets a title shot at any title. And who knows... maybe a win over the current World Heavyweight Champion is just what he needs. Rey told me to watch some of his matches and I already have in the past. He is a great athlete for his size and I think he may be capable of beating most of the wrestlers here in the WWE... but I’m not sure if Rey has exactly what it takes to beat Da Man... to beat the World Heavyweight Champion... to beat Goldberg!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Anything else you need to say to Rey?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Rey, me and you have never been on bad terms so I’m looking forward to his match to just see who is better. I’m not exactly 100% from Wrestlemania, but I guarantee that I will give you the best I’ve got left over. This is an important match for me, to show that my win at Wrestlemania wasn’t a fluke. So Rey, you’re just going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh, one more thing... YOUR ASS IS NEXT!!!”

Goldberg stands up and grabs his title. He walks out as Coach follows...
