Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... THE BACKLASH IS COMING!

Scene 1 ~ A New World Champion...

The scene opens up in the hallway of the SBC Center in San Antonio, Texas, which is where this week’s SMACKDOWN! will happen. A figure is seen walking down the hallway. The man turns around looking behind him, and we find out the man is none other than Coach. He walks up to a locker room door and takes a deep breath before knocking. The door opens up as Goldberg walks out with the World Heavyweight Championship title resting on his shoulder.

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Can I help you?”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “You know what? Against my wishes, I was told to find you and get an exclusive interview with our new World Heavyweight Champion... you.”

Goldberg laughs before starting to talk.

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Heh, well, I really am on a busy schedule... I got a flight out of here tomorrow morning.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Oh, no you don’t. You’ve been booked in a match for SMACKDOWN! this Thursday.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Oh really? And who’s my opponent?”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “It’s... Rey Mysterio.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah, I had a feeling. Rey is the only person I can really trust in the WWE right now, and knowing how much Shane likes me, he puts me up against him... Damn it!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Hey! I swear I had nothing to do with it! Now as for that exclusive interview...?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Fine...”

Goldberg opens the door as Coach walks in. Coach makes himself comfortable on a chair as Goldberg remains standing.

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “First off... let’s talk about Wrestlemania, since I know that’s what you want to talk about. Was your victory tough?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Coach, just like I knew it would be, it was very tough. But not tough enough. Shawn Michaels and Triple H are great athletes... they pushed me to my limits... but I pushed right back. I sat here everyday for two months, telling the world that I would become champ at Wrestlemania. And that’s exactly what I did.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Many have said that winning this title could actually be your downfall... because before, your motivation was to win the World Title... and now you don’t have any kind of motivation. What do you think?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I think... no, I know that my focus will not change. Yeah, before this World Title on my shoulder is what drove me to win each match day in and day out. But now I have a different motivation... to defend this title as long as I can. Now I will train extra hard because I know that the target is now on my chest. Now each and every WWE superstar will be targeting Da Man. My matches will be watched closely, to see if I show any kind of weakness that my opponent could capitalize on. So I’m just going to focus each match and go from there. And my next match is against a man who I respect a lot, Rey Mysterio.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Jumping right into it, like you said, your next match is this Thursday night on SMACKDOWN! when you take on the Television Champion, Rey Mysterio, in a non-title match.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “You know, Rey is an amazing athlete. We all saw his greatness at Wrestlemania when he defeated Gangrel for the Television Championship. As I watched from back in my locker room, I noticed Rey’s lethal weapon... his speed. I will have to make sure to watch out for his quickness come Thursday night.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “What do you think about the stipulation of that Wrestlemania match? If Rey loses, he has to unmask.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, the stipulation really didn’t matter since Rey won the match. However, Rey decided to show the world that he doesn’t have anything to hide by unmasking. So now his first match unmasked will be against me. Will we see a different Rey Mysterio without the mask? I hope not, because I know Rey will be a challenge.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Do you see any similarities and differences between yourself and Rey?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, similarity wise, yes there are quite a few. First, we both are champions and became champions at Wrestlemania. We both wrestle for the fans, giving them the best show possible. We both have great records. However, there are many apparent differences between us, too. First, our styles of wrestling are way different. You’re never going to see me do a West Coast Pop and you’ll never see Rey lift someone up for the Jackhammer. Rey uses his speed and flexibility to his advantage and me, I use my power. Size is definitely a difference as well. The only other difference I can see right now is that Rey is the Television Champion... and I am the World Heavyweight Champion!”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “Last week on RAW, you actually teamed up with Rey in a six man tag match. How was that different than what will happen on SMACKDOWN?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Rey is a great athlete and when I teamed up with him and Sable on RAW, we were unstoppable. We made a great team and since that night, Rey has gained my respect. Like I said, I don’t have any friends here in the WWE... and that’s fine cause that’s how it always was and that’s how it’s always going to be. So Rey, come SMACKDOWN!, there’s no holding back. Just because I was teamed up with Rey makes him no different than Triple H or Shawn Michaels or any of my other opponents. When I look across the ring Thursday night, I’m not going to see a former partner... I’m going to see the person next in line... next in line to be next.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “So you’re obviously not going to be taking it easy on Rey Mysterio... are you?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “No... I have never and will never taken it easy on an opponent. I don’t care if your 4’9” or 9’4”... when you face Goldberg, you’re all the same. I don’t care if you weigh 165 lbs., or if you weigh 561 lbs., when you’re next, you’re NEXT. There’s no difference. I know that since I have won this title, I will need to step up my game. I will need to be at my best 24/7... and if that means wrestling each and every night, then so be it. It’s time for everybody to realize exactly who DA MAN is... and exactly what DA MAN is capable of doing.”

| ‘Cocky Interviewer’ Coach | “One last question... do you think your power can beat Rey’s speed?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “That’s a tough one. I’ve never faced somebody like Rey in the WWE yet, but I am the World Heavyweight Champion. I wasn’t handed this belt like so many other champions in the past... I earned this title, plain and simple. Rey is going to be a tough competitor, but I know that I can beat him. I can’t let this whole celebration of winning my title go to my head. I will walk into that match just like I have walked into my matches in the past. I can beat Rey and that’s why I am the current champion... because I am the best in this industry... and I will prove it Thursday Night on SMACKDOWN!... Rey, get ready... YOU’RE NEXT!!!”

Goldberg gets up and leaves as the camera fades...
